My guess would be that they'll expand the developed surface into the grass on the north or west side.

Two Supercharger cabinets, 8 precast pedastals, and 4 crates of pedastals: Construction: I saw a relatively new looking transformer, but it appears to be for the gas station (pre-existing).

Equipment is on site and construction has begun. No sign of a transformer yet. I can't seem to add photos on mobile. I'll try to add them when I get home.

Is that a white Rivian in the background?

According to the Normal IL Fire Department: CT cabinet appears to mean Current Transformer.

Another local owner stopped by yesterday and Ameren was on site, presumably doing a final inspection before energizing the site. Could go online any day now. I may be able to swing by later today and check on the status.

That was me. I forgot to cross-post the pics/update here. 😁 They also said the parking surface will be pavers, and that they would be in by the end of the week, if I recall correctly. If nobody's posted anything by Fri 5/28, I should be able to get another update then.

Minor update: Looks like some PVC piping was delivered and a bit of it is already partially buried in a trench. Not sure what the square-ish white outline spray painted in the grass could mean, but Billie Jean posed in it for scale.

I stopped by this evening and found these concrete forms. I've not seen these before, but they look like pre-cast bases for Supercharger pedestals to me. Added a couple wide/overview shots for context. I tried to peek inside the shipping container, but it was locked.

I stopped by Saturday evening and saw the same thing @ratsbew shared above. I also called yesterday and talked to the manager of the Casey's. She said "it's happening", but it's over her head and she doesn't know anything about a timeline.

Thanks for sharing that, @scottf200! I could've sworn it was originally 90kW back when it opened in 2013, but I dug up the below photo from the grand opening and I was wrong. It was 120kW from the beginning.

Ooh! I haven't been there in quite some time, but it looks like they already upgraded the stalls to the new style. I wonder if they're also upgrading the old 90kW chargers to 120+kW?

I usually try to skip Normal and just use Springfield if I can, due to this very reason.

I've seen dips in power like that a few times lately. I'm guessing that either the battery or the charger is getting overheated? I would think the sensing and cooling would be smart enough to anticipate that and have a smoother taper rather than the sudden drop followed by a short rebound...

It could be temperature related, but most likely it's due to state of charge. The charging rate slows down as the battery fills up. A good analogy is pouring a glass of water. Were you already ~50% charged when you plugged in?

Oops, you are spot on. I greatly misread the chart. In my defense, it is an odd way to display/label the "all other states" data. :)

Update: See Saghost's post below for a significant correction. I was misreading the chart. According to ZEVfacts.com, you're right. By a greater than 2.5:1 margin, in fact. They don't break down sales by make/model, but this is for all BEVs, Jan 2011 - Aug 2016.
