Can you post a pic of the transformer? Thanks in advance!

My guess would be that they'll expand the developed surface into the grass on the north or west side.

A guy named Christian added a few more photos and comments on one of my FB posts about this. He said it was ok for me to re-share them here. I'm not sure what the two new boxes/cabinets are. Switch gear? I can't make out enough detail in the construction photo to see the pre-formed...

Two Supercharger cabinets, 8 precast pedastals, and 4 crates of pedastals: Construction: I saw a relatively new looking transformer, but it appears to be for the gas station (pre-existing).

Equipment is on site and construction has begun. No sign of a transformer yet. I can't seem to add photos on mobile. I'll try to add them when I get home.

Another local owner stopped by yesterday and Ameren was on site, presumably doing a final inspection before energizing the site. Could go online any day now. I may be able to swing by later today and check on the status.

Another update: The concrete pad for the charging cabinets has been poured, and there's at least a rock bed for the transformer. Also the stalls were installed yesterday. Thurs (6/3) morning: Later that same day:

    Supercharger - Brentwood, MO

I'm not sure who to alert, but it looks to me like this location will in fact be 12 stalls, rather than 8. I counted 12 of the pre-cast pedastal mounts (11 visible in the picture below). Framing for concrete pads. I think the cylindrical base on the right is for a light pole. Looks like a...

    Supercharger - Collinsville, IL

As a matter of fact I was there Thurs and last night and got some updated pics. Thurs the pavers were mostly installed, and the pedastals and charging cabinets were delivered. It appears that one of the pre-cast pedastal mounts might be in the wrong spot though. It was dark last night, but...

    Supercharger - Collinsville, IL

That was me. I forgot to cross-post the pics/update here. 😁 They also said the parking surface will be pavers, and that they would be in by the end of the week, if I recall correctly. If nobody's posted anything by Fri 5/28, I should be able to get another update then.

    Supercharger - Collinsville, IL

Minor update: Looks like some PVC piping was delivered and a bit of it is already partially buried in a trench. Not sure what the square-ish white outline spray painted in the grass could mean, but Billie Jean posed in it for scale.

    Supercharger - Collinsville, IL

At first glance yesterday, it didn't appear that any work had started, but when I walked over into the grass for an overview shot I noticed they've already cut out the curb to make room for the concrete expansion to add 8 parking spaces. Also it looks like a light pole and lighting fixture were...

    Supercharger - Collinsville, IL

I stopped by this evening and found these concrete forms. I've not seen these before, but they look like pre-cast bases for Supercharger pedestals to me. Added a couple wide/overview shots for context. I tried to peek inside the shipping container, but it was locked.

I stopped by Saturday evening and saw the same thing @ratsbew shared above. I also called yesterday and talked to the manager of the Casey's. She said "it's happening", but it's over her head and she doesn't know anything about a timeline.

    Improving my P3D+ range

I went with exactly this combo. Unfortunately the temperature in my neck of the woods has dropped significantly, so it's hard to judge the efficiency gain, but I'm optimistic. I'm hoping to get somewhere close to what I had been experiencing in my LR RWD w/19" stock wheels/tires, which was...

    Supercharger - Macon, GA

Was that the route recommended by the car? Seems evtripplanner.com and tesla.com/trips both recommend a route mostly along I-10 and then through Tifton. Not criticizing your choice (it looks like the Tifton route would include a lot of non-Interstate driving), just curious if it was...

Stopped by yesterday to check it out. Exactly 10 stalls. Everything looks complete, but no transformer. I asked when it would be ready and the guy I talked to said the official word on these projects is he doesn't know. Apparently he's had that question before. ;) At the time, they were...

    Tesla Trade - Denver/St Louis

I'm not asking for anything for free. I'm offering a straight trade. I don't have any expectations, but I've seen it work on this forum in the past, across continental divides even, so it's worth a shot.

    Tesla Trade - Denver/St Louis

I realize this is a bit last minute, but I'm visiting Denver by plane* next week, and I'm wondering if I could work out a trade so I wouldn't have to rent a silly gas car. I live in St Louis and own both a 2012 Sig Red P85 and a 2018 Black Model 3. Either one could be yours for a week whenever...

Thanks for sharing that, @scottf200! I could've sworn it was originally 90kW back when it opened in 2013, but I dug up the below photo from the grand opening and I was wrong. It was 120kW from the beginning.

    Supercharger - Normal, IL

Ooh! I haven't been there in quite some time, but it looks like they already upgraded the stalls to the new style. I wonder if they're also upgrading the old 90kW chargers to 120+kW?

    Roadster VIN list

Does anybody know the VIN or any details about the Roadster launched into space yesterday? I'm assuming since VIN 001 was black, this was a different one (probably a 2.0 or 2.5), and Elon still has VIN 001 somewhere.

Local CBS story, Tesla in autopilot mode hits fire truck

For those who didn't click the link, it's to a comment from someone who claims to know the driver. According to him a large pickup truck in front of the Tesla swerved late to miss the firetruck, and the driver didn't have enough time to react. The driver is not sure if AEB engaged or not, but...

Possible scientific vindication of using just cameras, no lidar

Google is ahead in terms of functionality with a LIDAR-based system, but they're aiming for a taxi/ridesharing service, not a consumer product. Nobody knows how much their sensor array costs, but we all know LIDAR is more expensive than cameras. Those using LIDAR seem to think that either the...

    Wiki Superchargers Visited

From Aug 26th to Sept 11th I took an epic road trip from St Louis to San Francisco to San Diego and back home to St Louis. I added 34 new Superchargers, catapulting me into the 100+ club with 115 total visited. For some backstory, the whole idea for the trip originated when the St Louis...

    Supercharger - Normal, IL

I've seen dips in power like that a few times lately. I'm guessing that either the battery or the charger is getting overheated? I would think the sensing and cooling would be smart enough to anticipate that and have a smoother taper rather than the sudden drop followed by a short rebound...

I agree with the majority of your review. The location is not as convenient as most Superchargers, but the facilities are very nice, and there are several good restaurants in walking distance, which is nice. Supercharger - Mt Gilead, OH

It could be temperature related, but most likely it's due to state of charge. The charging rate slows down as the battery fills up. A good analogy is pouring a glass of water. Were you already ~50% charged when you plugged in?

Let the hacking begin... (Model S parts on the bench)

I'm not much help with the sensor values (thankfully I think others have given you solid leads), but I did have an idea on where to hide the speaker... There's a sort of "exhaust port" on each side behind the rear fender. It's where air escapes when you close a door/hatch. You could probably...

Be honest: is SCing on a long trip annoying?

Oops, you are spot on. I greatly misread the chart. In my defense, it is an odd way to display/label the "all other states" data. :)

Be honest: is SCing on a long trip annoying?

Update: See Saghost's post below for a significant correction. I was misreading the chart. According to ZEVfacts.com, you're right. By a greater than 2.5:1 margin, in fact. They don't break down sales by make/model, but this is for all BEVs, Jan 2011 - Aug 2016.

Be honest: is SCing on a long trip annoying?

Since childhood (since my Mom's childhood, really), we've taken an annual family vacation from St Louis to Michigan, a ~450mi trip. When we were young, Mom would drag us out of bed at 4am to pile into the car, and we'd sleep through at least half of the 7-8hr drive. These days I drive myself...
