That's odd. I can get the "hold" brake to come on when my car stops (manually) and I tap the brake pedal a 2nd time. At that point I can toggle hold on and off at that point by simply tapping the pedal as long as it is stationary.
Drive past an empty spot and the P appears in the IC display. Stop and put it in reverse. Main screen will show the Start Parking button. Press and off it goes.
I'm curious - is the signal too weak for the garage door opener to pick it up?
I extended the antenna of my garage door opener so that I have an antenna outside (the garage) and it picks up the signal properly.
Yeah, I don't totally trust AP as it stands (I love it, but still have trust issues), so when the Autopark magically activated this morning, I hit the brake before it completed for fear that it would hit one of the columns supporting the roof in the parking area.
Updated to 2019.32.12.3 last night.
Autopark is back.
Since I bought the car, it never was able to pick out parking spots and initiate autopark, and some others here said the same thing so I had dismissed it, thinking it wasn't available on earlier cars. I was pleasantly surprised to see it...
No odd issues so far. I know it's going to happen, just when.
I did have a minor font corruption issue once or twice in the charging screen, more than a month ago, but none since the last few updates (currently on 2019.32.12.2)
Good news is I have a buddy in the electronics business and has...
Hey, does anyone know if using the API with an app like Teslafi increase the logging activity on the MCU? Wondering if it is a good idea to suspend my Teslafi account as a preventative measure on my older S85.
Been using Teslafi for a couple of months and it is handy but not essential.
Question is whether Teslafi is increasing the amount of system logging, and especially on older MCU1 cars, will contribute to the early demise of the eMMC memory.
It is only available on an AP equipped car because it uses the camera to detect the lane lines.
The vibration is more like a soft hum on the steering wheel for the earlier models. It feels like you are driving over those road edge grooves that are cut into the side of some freeways to warn...
From what I saw, the trim mismatch on the listing went both ways. Sometimes a higher trim level is listed as a base model while other listings of a lower level trim car show up as a P or D model just because the middle numbers match.
My take is that they use the data submitted by the seller and...
Full disclosure: I'm not an employee/affiliate of Carvana (or DriveTime) nor am I receiving any kickbacks for this post.
I recently purchased a 2014 MS85 from Carvana and have received several questions about buying off Carvana. I figured that I should provide some insight into purchasing a...
Yes, FUSC was transferred over when Tesla transferred the ownership to me (I followed the instructions found on this forum and emailed Tesla the info and the transfer was done in about 9 days).
Went really well, and their 100-day warranty has pretty good coverage if you find anything wrong with the car after the purchase.
....I should put together a thread on the Carvana experience. I've gotten a lot of questions about it.
My blue 2014 showed up as a black hovercar, and the service option disappeared. I think they fixed most of website and the service option reappeared in the app last week. Only thing left is my options aren't showing up in the car details on the website..... says I don't have AP.
Still have my...
I have AP1 on my MS85 but checking on the details on Tesla's account page, it says I have "No Driver's Assistance". Wondering if others are seeing this too because it's confusing me....
Got it back yesterday. Carvana's warranty picked up the cost of the replacement. Shiny new IC and a new subcool fan (a little squeaky).
Hoping the main display/MCU dies next before the warranty runs out so I get a new MCU, avoiding any potential emmc issue and maybe get a free 4G upgrade with...
My car's at the SC getting a new "rev G" ...2nd day at the SC, and I'm commuting on Uber vouchers (SC ran out of loaners).
Carvana's warranty is picking up the tab of the replacement of the IC and the squeaky subcool fan on the passenger side.
Hoping to get it back on Monday now.
Could it be the dreaded emmc wearing out in the MCU?
A dying emmc chip has shown up as all sorts of erratic weirdness, up to a total black screen + bricking.
The Carvana experience is great. No haggling, no add-on fees etc. They also made me a great offer on my trade in, that's why I went that route. They did a good job following up on paperwork etc, and stayed in contact with me to make sure everything was correct.
Only complaint about Carvana are...
Wondering if any of you are experiencing the vehicle display screwing up on the Tesla Account page after you log in and hit the "Manage" button? Looks like someone gave my car a facelift, painted it black and stole my wheels. My autopilot features is also not showing correctly....
It was...
Seems to apply to MS85, adding a feature to update V2 key fobs, possibly related to the news articles about one or more Model S getting hacked using the relay method.
Sadly I have a V1 key fob that is not updatable.
I just got the 2019.32 update on my 2014 MS85. Going to see if my key fobs are v2 by trying an update....
Update: No bueno. I have V1 fobs
Maybe this update was to address the recent reports of key fobs getting hacked and cars being stolen.
I'm seeing the same issue here in Phoenix. My S85 goes to sleep (nap more like) only when it cools off outside. On a hot day (100+), it sleeps for 30 mins to an hour (usually before noon) and after lunch, it hardly any ever goes to sleep even if TeslaFI is trying to let it go to sleep.
Gonna...
I was looking around for an independent Tesla repair place for some 3rd party warranty work and came across these guys.
Suffice it to say, I know where NOT to take my car...
2014 S 85 here (55k miles, 2019.28.2). I'm getting 230mi@90%, 240mi@95%, and estimated 253mi on a full charge (not done an actual 100% charge yet).
I've had the car for less than a month and just started tracking the battery performance.
I just saved a screenshot of the account screen showing unlimited SC for my car just in case...
Gotta keep an eye on this - what's to stop them from removing AP from my car (it has AP even though the option codes say it doesn't).
I'm just starting to look at putting in solar + PW, and trying to figure out how much power the system actually makes on a typical day.
I average 200-250kWh daily (~15-17kWh peak hourly consumption based off SRP's usage tracking) for a 5300 sqft house. So I sized up a 4x solar + 4x PW system...
Quick update.
Bought 2014 MS 85 on 7/20/2019, through Carvana.
Ownership transfer completed today (7/29), and free supercharging transferred across. I'm technically the 3rd owner so it does carry over.
I just picked up a 2014 MS 85 this past weekend from a 3rd party dealer (Carvana). I'm in the process of transferring ownership and hoping that the free unlimited supercharging gets transferred along with it too.
I finally made the plunge and picked up a 2014.5 MS 85 this weekend from Carvana. Coming from performance cars (M3), then a Nissan Titan for a few years, the MS totally blew me away. Really happy with the purchase and hope to participate and contribute to these forums!
@Driven+ Have you been successful at compiling a list? Should we put together a public list using a google sheet to get this going?
BTW, just picked up a 2014 S 85 this weekend from Carvana with the bubble issue. Going to see if their 100-day warranty will cover it.
