What Kind of Car Did The Model 3 Replace?

1996 Ford F150 XLT 335,000 miles. On its third engine. That beast took around $400 a month of fuel and maintenance. After the $10k down payment, my SR pays for itself.

SR owners only (NOT SR+) What is your max range at 100% SOC?

@zackmd1 that is what I am trying to glean from this post. I suspect a problem with software, not battery, but my SC will not do anything to address my concerns. They only say their OTA diagnosis reveals nothing wrong, and it is standard degradation.

SR owners only (NOT SR+) What is your max range at 100% SOC?

Just had to change my vote. Yesterday's charge to 100 left me with 198 miles. I'm now at 10% "degradation" in exactly 6 months of ownership.

How many SR owner sees 220 Miles as estimated range

Yup. I checked with my service tech, and according to him, the degradation point that triggers warranty replacement is based off the SR+ capacity, not the SR. That means 154 is the magic number that would trigger a replacement. In my case, if degradation is linear, I can expect a new battery...

How many SR owner sees 220 Miles as estimated range

232 before downgrade, 208 after, continued to drop. Now 198.

Yeah, right there in the App inbox was the explanation all along. Didn't specify what the refunds were for, but it looks like tax.

7 random deposits in my account

I could buy that. I just checked my account, and my log seams to show lower numbers, but I'm going off memory.

7 random deposits in my account

Who would I call? I've tried my service center, the California headquarters, even a random service center in NC, and no one knows a number to call for financial questions.

7 random deposits in my account

Could be, but I've only ever supercharged a handful of times, and it has always been at least $8 a session. This adds up to $4.53. I'm completely flummoxed.

7 random deposits in my account

Just checked my credit card, and apparently Tesla made 7 credits to my card on October 11th, all for between $0.11 and $0.93. What gives?

    V10 and Battery "Degradation"

Wow, @glide, you sure know how to make a girl feel special. o_O Tesla will definitely be in hot water if they refuse to honor their warrantee.

    V10 and Battery "Degradation"

Yeah, my SR is going through this. I had higher than normal degradation at six months and 7k miles when the software limit kicked in. I went from 232 miles at 100% down to 208 at 100%. Somewhere around v.2019.28.2.2 it dropped to 205, and with v10 it dropped to 200 miles at 100%. I am not very...

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

I would worry less if I could get Tesla to even aknowlege that there is a problem. But until it loses 30% capacity, they say they can't do anything. I have had several technicians, some over chat and some on the phone, claim it was my car adjusting to my driving habits. Problem is, Teslas...

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

Yes, I do. Charging to 90% (which is 80% of the software limited SR+ battery capacity) leaves me with 182 to 184. Once I only had 178 at 90%, but that seems to be a fluke.
  15. C

SR owners only (NOT SR+) What is your max range at 100% SOC?

If my calculations hold water, my 205 mile SR has had just under 7% range loss in under 6 months and 8000 miles. I do live in the deep South, so heat is a factor. June through August averaged 95+ degrees daily.
  16. C

SR owners only (NOT SR+) What is your max range at 100% SOC?

Interested in getting a broad report from SR- owners. At the time of the software limit, I got 208. Now I'm,at 205. You?

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

I should note: Took delivery on April, 2019. 8172 miles. Lifetime average 336whpm Daily commute of 30 miles, average 202whpm Supercharged 6 times Charge daily from 75% to 90%.

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

I'm in this boat, too. I woke up a few weeks ago preparing to evacuate for Hurricane Dorian. First thing I did was check my range, which I charged to 90% that night. At 7 am it read 212 miles at 90% (still SR+ capacity). I set it to charge to 100% while I made breakfast and packed. 45...

My Model 3 SR Plus shows as “Standard” on the display screen

So after waiting for 25 minutes I got a technician on chat. I described the issue and the steps I have already taken (recalibrate followed by hard reboot, three times in a week), and they said to do it again. If that doesn't fix it, then take it to a service center. But the service center is...

Tesla finally downgraded me from SR+ (240 miles) to SR (220 miles)

After a prolonged chat session, I was given the same schpeal. Discharge to 20%, charge to 100%. Even though I told them I have already done that 3 times. They say if it doesn't fix it this time, to take it to a service center. Problem is I live over 2 hours from a SC, and I don't think I can...

My Model 3 SR Plus shows as “Standard” on the display screen

I called Tesla and was given the usual runaround. Standard range fluctuations, discharge below 10% and charge to 100 to recalibrate, switch to energy display, nothing to see here.

    Lost range? Poll

Followup! I noticed my Software screen now lists my baby as a Standard, not a SR+. I don't have access to fog Lights or Emersive Sound. Also feels like im in Chill mode. So it looks like I was downgraded without any notification, and at the least opportune time due to hurricane evacuation.

Tesla finally downgraded me from SR+ (240 miles) to SR (220 miles)

I did also notice two related changes. There is definitely a noticeable drop in power. I certainly can't launch quite as readily as I used to. On the other hand I have noticed about a 15 wh/mi decrease on average trips. So it may have increased the efficiency of the car.

Tesla finally downgraded me from SR+ (240 miles) to SR (220 miles)

Same boat. Literally getting in my car to evacuate when I noticed range dropped to 209. I evacuated to Asheville NC from Savannah, GA. 251 mile trip. I used to be able to make that trip with one supercharger stop in Columbia, SC. Had to detour to Santee, SC to make it to Columbia, then again...

    Lost range? Poll

M3MR+, March 2019 build, April delivery. 6600 miles, avg wh/mi is 240 lifetime. Since July 4th, at 5k miles, I started losing range of about 1 mile every other day for two weeks. Finally levelled off at 234 miles at 100%soc. Yesterday, Sept 3rd, at 6.6k miles, total range dropped to 209...

    I am not an Electrician

Another electrician here. It is worth noting that the 1030 outlet only puts out 30 amps, so the charge rate is between the stage 1 120v (2-4 mi/hr) and the stage 2 NEMA 1560 (30 mi/hr charge rate). You will get around a 10-14 mile and hour charge rate using the 1030. If your daily commute is...

Model 3 with 400 mile range

Of the three projects listed, the only one still in startup funding is the Innolith battery. Linear Labs has already secured 4.5 million for testing, and already has a prototype unit for testing purposes. They have an applied prototype scooter scheduled for prodction next year, and a full EV...

Model 3 with 400 mile range

As another added plus to the prototype Innolith is developing, replacing the organic electrolytes in current "wet" Li+ packs with more stable inorganic electrolytes would eliminate the risk of fire and explosion, therefore doing away with all the negative light shown on TESLA in the MSM of late.

Model 3 with 400 mile range

If Tesla embraces the new HET DC motor that is under development at Linear Labs (or I would imagine a proprietary version thereof), they won't need to improve battery technology much. Motor efficiency will drastically increase range (and performance specs) while possibly even reducing storage...

What car did you swap for a Model 3?

My first car was an 82 Supra. My god what a great car! Glad to see they have released a new design on it. The car I replaced was a 96 Ford F150 with over 330k miles. Between gas (10-12mpg), maintenance and repairs, I was paying an average of $425 a month to maintain that truck. Factoring...

Free Tire Patch @ Tesla Service

@Dan203 runflats are not designed to be used after a puncture. They are meant to retain their structural shape long enough to get a new tire and save the rim. Once a runflat is punctured, it is toast. Can't be fixed, must be replaced.

@Duf67 I have similar issues reaching the SC in Jacksonville. Slightly understaffed and overworked. When this happens I call my Delivery Specialist and have him transfer me/leave a message with the technician. I usually hear back within a day. Once you get a hold of them, the technicians are...

Best Way to View SentryCam Videos?

I like the free third party app Tesla Cam/Sentry Reviewer by Snailbot Apps. You still need to unplug the USB from the car and plug it into your phone, which requires a USB to USBC or USBmini adapter, but it lets you review all three cameras simultaneously, at various viewing speeds, including...
