Did you get it working? The update making other card formats possible might help. I’ve actually got an bb in there and not an Android device. Wonder if something about android is to blame?

Been busy. So works fine. No issues with the video quality. Low cost method that is the most convenient so far. Depending on use, winter may be an issue.

My point was to throw cold water on the wear theory. Pretty basic troubleshooting and it’s ruled out. Further propping it up is a distraction and counterproductive.

Again though, this isn’t a wear issue. New cars also experience this. Sorry, new Tesla Model 3s.

Standard setup. Fat32 with the teslacam folder. Didn’t try with the internal memory given the fat32 requirement. As for the network, smb and any other smart device (TV, Phone etc.) will be able to access it.

Excellent news, mounting issue isn’t a big deal. As soon as the car powers down the USB ports it unmounts and voila, access. It auto mounts when the car is on and stays mounted when sentry mode is on. Pretty much exactly how I want it, and again, free. Only thing to test further is the write...

Yeah, most have card slots, so not an issue. I’ll test this weekend, was just impatient and figured it must have been done already.

Appreciate the input, but I’m not convinced (your first point). This was an issue as soon as it rolled off the production line. To me that rules out longevity issues.

Hard to know what they actually did, they are pretty sketch. They claimed to have done something. I’ve asked twice for details, yet to get specifics.

Thanks for the input. Yeah, not sure you would need otg cable. If you don’t have old device sure, may not be the most economical choice, but who doesn’t have a number of older mobile phones? Also, as mentioned, network access via wifi. Am I missing something?

Anyone try this yet? Would connecting an old phone with storage to serve as the destination for sentry/cam footage work? Additional benefit of accessing from the network via wifi is appealing.

I know it’s not a huge deal but it really is increasingly annoying. This is the second time in as many months that I bring it in complaining about it. They are insisting it is within spec.

Happy to report that Tesla Montreal did the right thing and changed my trim under warranty. I was skeptical after they said they would “try” pass it under warranty. I did provide the date and time of the incident, and it clearly wasn’t frozen so.. All in all, I’m glad it’s back to normal...

Some weird positions taken in this thread. You don’t have to be an expert to have an opinion on quality. For many people, myself included, many elements of the car are noticeably poor quality. What’s wrong with admitting the car you purchased is flawed? Doesn’t make it bad car.

Mine sometimes doesn’t close. They’ve adjusted once already. Might of helped a bit but still tough to close. Have not felt the “push back” you describe however.

Yesterday my rear passenger window glitched when opening/closing the door. Result was the window all the way up on the outside of the car - so on the silver trim. I noticed immediately and opened the door to correct but the damage had already been done. The trim is pretty scratched up (not sure...

So, they checked it and greased it, as seems to be standard. Still clicks for me. They absolutely know about an axel click though, the guy told me sometimes they just forget to grease during production. Very reassuring. If anyone has alternative theories, I'd love to hear em.
