So What Do We Think Of The Polestar 2?

I finally got a good look at one of these, they have one for display at the Westfield in London… Have to say I was disappointed, the looks are good I like the chunky styling, it feels like a lot of car however the interior was bland and felt somewhat ordinary. The level of plastics were...

    Tyres - How’s it going?

So I’ve been looking at model 3 tyres and apart from putting what I have now on at £180 a pop I was thinking of getting these.. very little difference in cost however I’m intrigued that they might enhance the range marginally Michelin e.Primacy...

    Another Range query....

Seems low to me? I regularly get 250 - 300 miles and 90% of my miles are motorway. Over 11,500 miles in averaging 260kwh which I recon would be closer to 240-250 if I hadn’t developed a lead foot in winter.

How many miles are you doing here for the cost, out of curiosity. Seems high.

These are pretty much the same as my car. Probably a little worse on the bonnet. I’ve raised it with customer service.

    Paint chip advice

I’d suggest they’ll just say no... I have a similar issue to that on my car and their general response was this is out of warranty and they have no good will allocation for this. Raise it with customer services. I have bought a ChipEx kit which works well and is a good colour match.

    M3P. Chip in front bumper.

Yes, yes I do. My bad. The kit is good. Easy to use. Depending on how bad the chips is you may need a couple of applications. For the chip on my A pillar the results are better than the bonnet, but still better than they were.

    M3P. Chip in front bumper.

I can also confirm that Chips away paint from their website in blue is a pretty spot on match for the Tesla. It was around £40 and has done a pretty decent job.

Take it back. The person who marked the car up etc has been over-road and they’re now backing out of a repair. Annoying much.

Tesla Model S 75 charger help

hi all my car is in the garage and I’ve got a model s 75 loaner. I noticed earlier it only has CCS charging, without the additional 2 prongs. How do I charge one of these at a super charger? rather unhelpfully no charging cable was included and it doesn’t looks like the return trip home...

    M3P. Chip in front bumper.

Hopefully my chipped paint saga is coming to an end. I took mine to the dealer this week for various issues, (window slipping and vibration from the seat belt holder), and brought to their attention the excessive amount of stone chips for a new car. Without question or argument, they...

Wind noise on drivers door on model 3

Same issue for me. I’ve been using Gumi Pledge which seems to help. So I can only presume the seal isn’t holding the window that well, once it dries off it’s back to a rattle / wind noise. Had the same problems when I had a mini.

Flaking paint on 2021 M3 LR

I’d be curious to know how you’re getting on. The paint on my blue model 3 is really not fairing well. 6 months and 10,000 miles and I’ve never had a car with so many stone chips

    Window Problems, maybe?

Moderator comment - duplicate threads merged Anyone else having problems with noise around the windows? Sounds like it’s coming though, but I’m not sure. I also seem to have a drivers window shudder over bumps, I’ve tried treating the rubbers with a sealant which seems to work for a few days...

Well naturally it’ll be cheaper elsewhere. Shop around you’ll get a range from £60 - £250 no doubt.

My reasons behind choosing a M3

How has it only cost you 3.62? Based on my 10000 miles to date it’s cost me around £100 at 5p a kWh.

    Fellow car cleaning obsessives...

Ditto this. I have some major stone chippage on the front of the car way worse than I’d expect. I’m having one of those touch up paint packs Tesla do sent over from my brother in Canada as you can’t seem to get them here.

    After market headlights

maybe. But changing the headlight isn’t going to fix auto dimming. In all seriousness if you think they’re that bad it may be your car. I’ve had plenty of fancy dazzling headlights and whilst they’re not as bright as they latest from Audi or Merc, they’re not bad and certainly provide plenty...

Tesla model 3 slides on sloppy roads in parked position in London snow?

I’d probably feel a little bit silly ringing Tesla to blame them for a car sliding on ice. Maybe it’s just me.

    Snowflake battery symbol

I just use the scheduled charge, under charging. As stated by others you can’t set an end so I just vary the amount of charge to limit the time it’s charging.
  31. M

    Snowflake battery symbol

My bad. My 100% charge is showing as 91% which I can only assume is down to the cold.
  32. M

    Snowflake battery symbol

Moderator comment - thread merged from "It’s cold!" Anyone have an idea of what the blue on the battery means, other than it’s cold? I’ve also noticed my maximum battery capacity is now only 91% that’s a record low for me for a full charge.

    I just ordered an ID4

Id agree with this. My partner and I both at in one with a Renault Zoe next to it and weirdly the Renault was far nicer inside. The VW felt super cheap, hadn’t felt materials like that since my first Corsa years ago.
  34. M

    I just ordered an ID4

Interesting. Not sure I would personally it’s a little too conventional. Maybe as a second car, I’m 6 months and 10,000 miles into my Tesla ownership and love the car... that may change over time. Would be interesting to see how you get on.

Tesla Range - Surely there’s something wrong?!?

Your assuming the battery tech doesn’t naturally get better so you get more miles from the same weight? - I’m not suggesting just chucking more batteries into the car.
  37. M

What are people's thoughts on the Mustang Mach e?

External styling is a yes. interior is no. I’m not keen on any Ford interiors tbh, they always look and feel cheap. Range is ok, but the battery is bigger so will cost more to charge and highlight the inefficiency. I did seriously consider it, but would I pay £50k for a Ford. Probably not.
  38. M

Tesla Range - Surely there’s something wrong?!?

Yup agreed. Personally I’m hoping Tesla push out a 500+ mile battery for a model 3 priced car. I think for me that’d be a pick, that’s the great thing with batteries. The tech is relatively infantile so we could be getting 500miles + range as a standard.
  39. M

Tesla Range - Surely there’s something wrong?!?

Agreed. Can say I understand why though. If I was to buy an ICE that can do 45mpg I would know that if i hoon it around I’d only get 20mpg, so why would it be any different for an EV

    Window Problems, maybe?

Anyone got a solution for a window shudder on the drivers side over bumps. I’ve tried Gummi Pledge which seems to help for a day or so but it wears off fairly fast. This stuff has worked on all my rimless windows to date but the Tesla windows seem to have a different approach to seals. I’d...

    Octopus Smart Meter Experiences

Really surprised. I don’t know if I was lucky or not but they fitted my meter within 3 weeks of joining. I just emailed their customer service team a few times and they responded and got me straight onto the booking list. they had loads of slots too. I was expecting a massive wait.

    Blue or Red! ARGH!!!!

Blue for the win for me. I wanted red. Couldn’t justify the cost on a short lease and would have had to drop the white interior. I love the combo I have I personally think both are a win.
  43. M

Tesla Range - Surely there’s something wrong?!?

Interesting post. I’d say I’d probably be fairly unhappy with 50 miles of range, it seems a little low to me. My LR seems to be averaging 200 miles in winter from 90% range, this has more to do with my driving style atm. I think I could probably get 230/250. For every 70 miles I use approx...

    Commuting in a Model 3 SR+

Interesting. I thought it was generally more efficient around town than over the motorway A roads etc. I struggle to get less than 200 from my LR at when above 60 and at 65ish it pushes 300-320 miles.... I’m slightly surprised there is such a divergence between the two models. Who knew
  45. M

    Commuting in a Model 3 SR+

Those are some pretty low numbers? You must of been doing a consistent 80-90mph?
  46. M

    Commuting in a Model 3 SR+

I do 140 miles commute a day in my LR and drop around 40%. I’d of thought the standard should be fine for a 90 Mile

My experience with them has been excellent. I had my delivery defects rectified on my model 3 and a further couple of rattles. Quick supercharger question

I don’t regularly supercharge (today being my 2nd time).... but I noticed that there is a large vibration and occasional popping from under the car. Is that normal?
