Two days old and attacked by a lumber truck and its screws :(

Seconded. There is a reason they are honking and flashing. You should not be in the left lane doing the speed limit. This drives people NUTS!

Phone key unlocking issues after recent updates

I posted in the other thread about this. Just updated to 40.2.1 and seems to have fixed the issue.

FYI I got 40.2.1 last night. Phone key has worked flawlessly all day today. Prob 10 entries and no failures. Previously it pretty much failed every time.

    Phone key has become flaky?

I posted my experience with this on another thread. I checked these settings you describe. Still have issues. For some reason, my trunk always seems to open with no issue when I press the trunk release on the car, but then I close the trunk and walk to the driver door, won't unlock. The car...

Car won't unlock until I handle my iPhone

I have had my car for a couple of months now, never had a problem with unlocking my car with my phone in my pocket. It seems like ever since I got 2019.36.2.1 I have been having issues. Several times each day I need to take my phone out of my pocket (front) and open the app (was running in the...

What's your top feature request that could be accomplished via software update?

Change the Door Lock Notification when you walk away from the car. Change it from the horn to a more ear friendly sound coming out of the pedestrian speaker? Something like other luxury cars (Audi, BMW, etc.) Not sure this is possible or if the speaker could be loud enough? I really dislike...

Considering a Model 3 or Cadillac ATS

Also, those electricity rates are insane. I guess one could say my rates are insane. Bay Area CA with an EV Time Of Use plan. 12 am-3pm is 16.2 c/kwh. Peak is 33-35c/kwh

Considering a Model 3 or Cadillac ATS

    1) Just get a receptacle that is rated for outdoors. Usually has a hood/flip up door. 2)Totally dependent on your current system and how complex the run is to add it. 3)Depends on driving habits, but I don't think you are going to get 75k out of them 4) As posted above you can turn it down to...

Long Daily Commute; Sorry for the Charge Post

I have a similar commute, charge it to 80% each night and forget about it. Depleting the battery more is not good for it (per many discussions here). Just charge it every day to 80 and be happy.

    Why I cancelled my P3D

The waiting can be tough. I waited about 6 weeks for mine. If you go back into the waiting rooms you will see that some people waited over 8 weeks when they ordered at the beginning of the quarter. Tesla seems to be starting production for the farthest shipments at the start of the quarter...

    LR AWD Waiting Room

Got my car today from SF (ordered 8/12). They said they were doing 40 - something deliveries today. Took it for an hour drive home. This thing is awesome, hang in there!

    Performance Waiting Room

Dropping in on the Performance thread here - I just picked up my LR AWD today and took it for a nice hour drive home from SF. I am coming from a 2002 SUV. Bless you guys getting the performance, I can't even bring myself to push this thing yet, is is so @#%#& fast! I think I would scare...

    LR AWD Waiting Room

The wait is over! Ordered 8/12. Car info in the signature. Picking up tomorrow 9/21 in San Francisco! Was hoping to try to get upgraded wheels with the "incentives", but nothing in inventory so sticking with it. Asked for the 2 years of charging and was verbally told it was added. We will see!

    Sept 10 - Oct 1 2019 2K Miles Free Supercharging Promotion

The extra miles is worth maybe 50 bucks? Not worth it to me, but to each his own.

First time user of ABRP - trip planning question

It's been a while since my engineering classes in college, but drag is proportional to velocity squared. 80 mph creates 30 percent more drag on the car than 70 mph even though it is only 14 percent faster. 30 percent is going to have a big impact on your calcs for range (obviously).

    LR AWD Waiting Room

Thanks! I'm coastside, commute to SJ. So heat isn't too bad over here. I'm doing the rear window up to the front seat sunroof line, I think the factory tint up there should be good for me but I will play it by ear. My current car didn't have anything on the windshield, but if it becomes an...

    Wall Charger with Nema 5-15

I believe the Wall Connector ($500) is hard wired 220 V, not plug in. I think if you do not want to unplug your mobile connector every time, you need a second mobile connector. FYI I am not sure how much research you have done on charging but 5-15 is very slow (a few miles per hour of charge)

    LR AWD Waiting Room

Hi All! First post, just joined. Ordered a LR AWD pearl white on black, aero, FSD on 8/12 (Bay Area). Same boat as most people, no update on Vin yet. I'm moving from a 2002 SUV, so a big upgrade for my 90 mile round trip commute! The vast majority of my commute is highway, so excited...
