Not sure whether its a design or QC issue, but it also happened on my previous car, a 2019 Model 3. It’s not a big deal and can be easily fixed with a service call.

Good points @Knightshade, @garlan. I think $100/M sounds about right. Assuming I could opt in/out depending on my usage and satisfaction. Although, I am skeptical they would make it that easy. I am sure the lure of $7K upfront is more alluring. I agree that we probably won't see it this year.

I have an SR+ and love it. I live in Florida and get 200 miles in real world driving at 90% SOC, but your mileage will vary with cold weather. However, with a SC near work as an option, you will be fine. I assume you can charge at home every evening to 80-90%. Don't stress if you cannot...

I feel for the OP, but as a previous owner of several Japanese cars, a SAAB, a few BMWs and 2 Benz, I can say all OEM dealers have issues. Some make great cars and have wonderful service centers with wifi, plush sofas and coffee in the waiting areas, loaners etc, but wait until your warranty...

I have the same issue. 19SR+ with 231 miles at 100% SOC. I charge to 90% and plug in at home every evening. I contacted Tesla Service and was told not to worry. They did a remote diagnosis of the battery and reported all is fine. However the tech told me not to recharge until I am down to 30%...

Unless I misinterpreted mswlogo, he/she probably meant you wont get 224 miles with an SR+. Maybe if you drive at an insanely slow pace with no AC etc. Ask me how I know.
