Car needs service - Unable to Charge

Got the Model 3 back today. Everything looks to be in working order. Love the concern noted “ticking like it is going to explode” LOL

Error Power Conversion system. Seek service.

I got a different error message, and other weird behavior (could not charge) and so took our 19 SR+ into the SC. Just got notified the SC is going to replace the PCS (Car needs service - Unable to Charge). PCS failure trend?

Car needs service - Unable to Charge

Just got an update for the SC, they said the technician is advising it is an issue with the Power Conversion System (PCS) and that they will be replacing the PCS. Looks like PCS replacement is a common thing popping up ->...

Car needs service - Unable to Charge

Tesla does provide loaners. Honestly, the main reason we bought Teslas is for the self driving aspect. Not all Tesla loaners have self driving enabled and so I personally prefer to get Uber credits.

Car needs service - Unable to Charge

I wish it would have been a temporary problem... Good thing is Tesla has the car now and will sort thing out, I hope... I will post once we here back from Tesla :)

Car needs service - Unable to Charge

My wife jumped into our 2019 Tesla Model 3 this morning to head out for a day trip, including a long drive. She was greeted by the following error message: Car needs service - Unable to charge. This event was the start of a long day packed with troubleshooting and search for support on how...

22 Inch Wheels/Tires- Have you bent or cracked them?

Wait what?!? I had to use very low mode to increase range a couple of weeks ago and luckily did not have any issues... How'd very low mode crack your rim?

22s - What PSI do you run?

For all your running the stock 22 inch rims, what PSI do you run your tires at? I've read higher PSI numbers can lower the rolling resistance which in turn and increase range... Have you noticed any impacts to your range based upon your tire PSI rating?

This just feels wrong (towing a utility trailer to the dump)

Man, where was this post this weekend before I decided to do the DIY front mud flap job on the X... I totally did not think about searching eBay. And absolutely nothing was coming up on Google... Definitely sounds like towing with the X is doable, but a real PITA to get everything setup (hitch...

    Autopilot Lane Change

Definitely agree it is not "automatic". I think of the whole system to be more of an advance driver assist system -- helps a LOT but def need babysitting and support.

Auto-pilot horrible ping pong, something seems wrong?

Wow. Great post! Glad to hear you found the root cause (needed to replace the front tires). I'd personal wait like a month or so then schedule another appointment and mention the alignment seems to be off on the highway. GTK (replace all tires at the same time to avoid ping-pong issue)!

    Autopilot Lane Change

Here is a difference between detecting a lane (solid blue line), and detecting a lane that can be changed into (dashed blue line). Autopilot is pretty good at detection a lane (solid blue line), it has to do even more work to detect a lane that can be changed into (dashed blue line) I believe...

    More Chill than Chill?

I am with KatyF on this one. Even in Chill mode, autopilot does stuff that is definitely NOT "Chill" in Chill mode. If there was an even Chiller mode, I would be using that setting with autopilot...

where I can find option to buy Autopilot or FSD?

almost 200 views and no posts... I'll bite :) Should be an option in your Tesla account. If you cannot find it I have found the chat option on tesla.com to be very helpful :). Hope you found the solution you were looking for!

    Autopilot Lane Change

I don't know the exact conditions but I too have noticed that the autopilot will only change lanes when it can detect a dashed line. Without the confirmation of a dashed line our autopilot will not change lanes.

MX Smart Summon worse than other models?

I agree the auto summons works better on our Model 3 than our Model X. I also theorize it has to do with the height difference of sensors between the two. I tell people the auto summons is a flaky free feature they are still working on improving at the moment. We still use it but ONLY in...

This just feels wrong (towing a utility trailer to the dump)

I hear yeah. I searched the interwebs for hours and could not find a solution for mud flaps for the Model X, so I made some for the front this weekend :). And when towing, you typically need to drive on surfaces that are not perfectly paved asphalt, thus the need from some type of protection...

22 Inch Wheels/Tires- Have you bent or cracked them?

GTK! Thanks for the info jgrgnt & frank-datank. We have the 22 turbines and were wondering the same thing, especially seeing some of the issues with the larger rims on the TM3s... Looks like Tesla did us X owners a solid and constructed the 22s better than the TM3s 20s :).

    Buying a used Model X - Advice?

Agreed w/gangzoom "... its best to think of these cars as wacky experiments...". With that said, they are awesome experiments that have the potential to provide many years of reliable enjoyment... With Tesla's being to reliant on tech and Tesla still working out their quality processes, I am...

This just feels wrong (towing a utility trailer to the dump)

Nice! I've read hooking up the chains can be a PITA... I noticed what looks like mud splatter on a freshly cleaned X. Have you thought about mud flaps?

DIY Tesla Model X Mud Flaps

I acknowledge putting mud flaps on the Model X is some what of a controversial subject. With that said, I am tired of cleaning off mud and debris being flung up on to the side of the car by the front tires. Since I could not find a suitable solution I decided to make a solution by taking a...
