    Installation experience in Maryland?

Hijacking the thread: I'm in Ellicott City and thinking about solar. How was your installation experience in this area? (moderator note: unhijaacked thread (lol) and split this off into its own thread.)

    Installing home charger

I haven't seen anyone say this: when I went to install mine, I didn't have any space in the breaker box, but I had a bunch of standard size 15 amp breakers where my box can accommodate the narrow or thin 15 amp ones. Check the manual for you box. I bought a new 50 for the charger, four thin...

SCCA Autocross Class for the Model 3

Wow, that low? I'm going to the AL SCCA event that was just postponed from this weekend to next. They run a EV-X class alongside STX, but I can't find any PAX numbers or rules. Guess it's just SS or EV-X.

SCCA Autocross Class for the Model 3

What tire pressures are people running? I’m thinking 48-50 for my first outing.

Portable Solar Trickle Charge for Camping

I don't know much about it. At Harbor Freight, they have solar charging stuff near the RV stuff, so maybe surf the RV community and see what they are doing.

    Title washed Tesla?

I haven't followed the Rich Rebuilds videos closely, but he had some issues with a salvage vehicle not supercharging because Tesla blocked the VIN. I would check with Tesla to make sure they will still support it. If you've never had to deal with title issues, they can be a pain in the ass.

    DIY brake fluid?

Way easier to use a helper to pump the brake pedal than a power bleeder. The cylinder is less than a liter, and brake fluid doesn't keep, so just put a whole bottle in.

    performance brakes

Let me sneak a related question into this thread: what are you track guys doing to put the car on jack stands? The jack point mega thread is full of very risk averse people. On my BMW M3, I'd center jack on the subframe cradle; has anyone tried that?

    performance brakes

I had assumed Tesla just bought some Brembos off the shelf and there would be plenty of aftermarket pads, but there's only the XT pads? Does Tesla make these calipers themselves? Looks like you have to take the whole caliper off to change the pads too :(

MASTER THREAD: 2019.40.50.x - Driving Visualization improvements, new voice commands, Camping Mode

I was just stopped behind another car at a light. The car ahead of me didn’t go when the light turned green. My M3 started beeping at me after 10 or 15 seconds. I think it saw the green light and was trying to clue me in.

MASTER THREAD: Jack Points — location, use, damage, pads, etc.

Got my M3P yesterday, drove it home, swapped out the 20s for some 18s. I'd done the googling and saw people pushing the hockey pucks as the only way to jack up the car. I just used some hard rubber jack pads and placed them under the jack points. Now, thinking forward to tire rotation, how am I...

    Delivery report 12/12/19

Picked up my M3P yesterday in Nashville, TN. Black on black, ordered 31 October, no FSD. Show room wasn't busy and was helped five minutes before my appointment time. Signed the hardcopy, took a few tries to get the car to show in the app. Jessica walked me through all the controls (since I...

    AutoX class question

I'm running 265/40-18 Michelin PS4S on 18x9.5 wheels. No suspension mods (yet). Does this drop me all the way into SM? I'm a casual AutoXer, so my wheel/tire choice is more about aesthetics.

Parked in a garage with 18% charge and no plug, will I be able to drive home later?

Sounds like the outlets you tried have bad grounds. If you're having an electrician install a NEMA 14-50, you probably want them to check those outlets just for safety sake. If you're at all handy, installing the NEMA 14-50 wasn't hard at all. Biggest hurdle was getting the power company to...
