Does Fuel Savings really make that much of a difference?

Probably will not save you anything meaningful if you live in Long Island/NYC area ($0.23/KWH delivered), unless you can S/C as part of your normal daily driving routine. Regarding scheduled maintenance, statements such as "there is no oil or other fluids to change or upkeep" is misleading...

    AWD Test Mule

How can that be, if the P85 power is already limited by battery discharge rate (internal impedance, chemistry, etc.) Unless we are talking different battery tech/architecture, or frunk stuffed with more batteries.

Based on price of fuel vs electricity here, I got 110mpg-e today...got home with 8mi

For real life numbers, I would take into consideration charging efficiency (~84%), and vampire drain (~4KWH/day ). Assigning 63% of the daily vampire drain to the 110 mi section,That brings the total energy usage for that 110mi stretch to ~50KWH. That translates to ~88mpg, which is still very...

    Tire Stem Caps

I choose to live and learn: It is not Jaguar specific. Ford has experienced issues. The relevant statistic would be accidents caused by tire blowout. One poster on this board experienced a sudden loss of tire pressure but the TPMS unit was destroyed in the incident. The remains did show...

Can it replace my Jag XF Suprtcharged? the numbers do not add up......

Thanks, for your kind reply. That's what I'm trying to do - 'get myself mentally on the MS train'. But, as you said, I need to understand the limitations as they apply to my driving cycles. I'm sure I'll get hooked after a test drive, being a car guy and being addicted to high power /...

    Tire Stem Caps

Absolutely yes, reference is my Jaguar dealer and our forums. my XF supercharged has those plastic caps, and on the Jag forum it was discussed at length by the technicians who explains the mechanics of these failures on super low profile tires. Also, the plastic caps should not be too tight on...

    Tire Stem Caps

Don't replace those 'cheesy' plastic wheel stem caps!!!!!!!!. they are designed to blow out in case of a major pothole, failure of the valve, instead of the tire blowing thru the side wall. BEWARE

Ahh! I locked my key fob in the car while 70 miles from home!

I don't believe a 'smart' key will allow you to lock the car from the outside, if the key is inside.

Can it replace my Jag XF Suprtcharged? the numbers do not add up......

15.5MPG overall is not bad, still above the EPA city rating of 15. This is Long Island traffic, and I drive about 70% around towns with many stop signs, lights, etc. Also, North shore is very hilly terrain. ( best place to safely open this thing up is going up hill). I can see having to drive...

Can it replace my Jag XF Suprtcharged? the numbers do not add up......

The XF first came out in 2009, so design is older than MS. For me - Both my XFs proved to be all the things Jaguar are supposed to be very good at, + (surprising some people but not me) excellent reliability, sweet drive train and engine, very good highway millage if you drive efficiently, very...

Can it replace my Jag XF Suprtcharged? the numbers do not add up......

I said it's comparable, but for the details of it: according to C&D, test my car has a 0-60mph of 4.3 seconds, so not slower than the S85P. In addition, mine has the ECU upgrade which brought it up to XFR-S tune, certainly it's a sleeper beast now with 540HP. That's neither here nor there, I...

Can it replace my Jag XF Suprtcharged? the numbers do not add up......

I'm fascinated with the S85Performance version. I'm in Long Island, currently loving my (second) XF supercharged which in my mind probably inspired the design of the S in many ways.... What would/could deter me from going with the S for my next car? 1) Range: I travel to NJ at least twice a...
