    Hydrogen vs. Battery

"Toyota expects FCHVs to reach full mass-market commercialisation during the 2020s, by when it aims to be selling tens of thousands of vehicles each year" Tesla is already there, with Supercharging infrastructure well on it's way in addition to home charging capability at almost every modern...

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2013

Yeah that's the Volvo safety demographic that Tesla owns now. IMO TSLA will reach 80% of GM by EOY. Insane? Yes. April-Now gains? Also insane. Another doubling to $340 by EOY. $300 Kickstarter-type emotional investment + $40 rational value = $340

Google Designing Its Own Self-Driving Car, Considers ‘Robo Taxi’

Seem to recall Elon saying he had differing ideas for the tech used in future auto-automobiles. Google seems to use radar tech, Elon was more interested in developing camera tech. Not sure what the basis for that is, but iirc he didnt go much further into it.

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2013

Any stock analysts price in the emotional value of a stock? If they price only by rational value then even $40 was questionable as recent as April. Tesla is game-changing, it is a revolution in transport happening in front of our eyes, it is the future, clear as day, to more and more each...

    Model E

I believe Elon also said it is in today's dollars, so add a few years inflation by the time it is released. Probably more like $40,000.

    First Summer Supercharger opening

Another investor/enthusiast here, will be a few years until the Minivan gets traded for a Tesla for me. Glad to hear you are documenting this, and looking forward to seeing the finished product. I will be coming down from Chicago in a Volt ZipCar bright and early tomorrow, see you there!

    Supercharger - Normal, IL

I'm not even an owner, just a small potatoes investor / enthusiast, but I understand the importance of this event. The first supercharger not on either coast, it's like driving the golden spike in the trans-continental railroad. (OK maybe not quite but you get my meaning...) I will be taking...

    Anti-Tesla Gibberish

Agree w/ Electric700. The Model S is a killer product. There is no longer any need to worry about any of these impotent nabobs of negativity.

Goldman Sachs, Gen III SUV, Model X 2015, from Tesla site

Agreed this is a strangely large info dump, more than you hear on the quarterly calls. Takeaways: Model X deliveries now 2015 (last I heard late 2014) My first hearing of the G3 SUV Line shift info particularly detailed Powertrain business negligible. Im sure Tesla is fine with that, they need...

Tesla competition: The problem of cannibalism

This is the same position Nokia was in a few years ago. They knew their Symbian phones were going to be disrupted by the new breed of Apple and Android smartphones. Besides struggling Blackberry, the only smartphone OS / ecosystem vendor available was Microsoft. So a VP from Microsoft was...

    VIDEO: Fox's Tesla Re-Coil (http://mediamatters.org/)

Let's also ensure nobody forgets about this: “We must also change how we power our automobiles. We will increase our research in better batteries for hybrid and electric cars … Breakthroughs on this and other new technologies will help us reach another great goal: to replace more than 75...

Tesla is changing hearts and minds.

Thanks Rifleman. I think you are onto something. Tesla had many hurdles to overcome, image-wise. Still does. But the product is pushing all that to the side. Reminds me of an interaction I had when the iPhone first came out. I was at a party and someone had one, so being very interested I went...

Two way charging to balance electric frequency

Gee, I wonder which anonymous electric car company is working on a two-way charger three times more poweful than the current one?

    Elon Musk on CNBC Yesterday

If I was Atlas the way he is now with Jobs gone, I'd probably get a little rambly myself.

Horrible Second Week of Ownership (rented an ICE while on vacation)

Yeah, you got me with that title. Also followed the link, nice detailed story on the purchase process. Enjoy!

100 Reasons to Love the Tesla Model S

Well I compared my list to yours (yours was more extensive) and have the following additions: 1) On track for possible 5-star score in NHSTA crash testing - Front crumple zone larger since no ICE - Roof crush resistance double government standard (broke the crush machine in testing)...

more wows than at the apple store

I get that idea about not wanting to brag, but wanting to show the benefits of the car, because, well, there are so many! I have a personal list of almost 50 pros versus ~10 cons of the Model S, and many of the Cons there are plans by Tesla to address in the future. It was an exercise to prove...

more wows than at the apple store

I only recently sat in one for the first time at the Old Orchard store here in Chicago. That was enough for me. I refuse to be in the vehicle while it is moving lest I immediatly cash in my daughters BrightStart funds for a reservation! :scared:

more wows than at the apple store

Yep, from other threads here it seems the demand seems in line, if not slightly above, production goals for the remainder of the year. This is without any major advertising other than the grass-roots word-of-mouth methods which seem to be working just fine for now. It seems that once people...

    More anti-ev gibberish

Yeah that was the promise. IIRC they never came through on the promise of free electricity, because transmission over distance always costs something to provide.
