Highland - Did Tesla Fix Door/Dash LED alignment?

I've owned 3 Teslas and am very familiar with "within spec". However, this pic is of one of the best aligned I've seen. Every Highland I've seen (with very few exceptions) has much greater misalignment than this. I don't know if the door itself is misaligned or it's a defective door card but if...

Highland - Did Tesla Fix Door/Dash LED alignment?

For Highland owners who took delivery and had poor door/dash alignment, was Tesla willing/able to repair?

Model 3 Highland (US) Waiting room

Has anyone who ordered the 19” wheels driven a Highland with them vs the 18”? Like the look but my 2020 with the 19s was the hardest riding vehicle I’ve ever owned.

No Recents Menu on Bottom of Screen?

Yeah, my 2018 M3 and 22 MY had it. On the right side where the map displays, there was a ribbon across the bottom that showed the currently playing song and if you expanded it, it grew to show favorite and recent stations so I could quickly tap them like traditional radio presets. Do you now...

Model 3 Highland (US) Waiting room

Any current Tesla owners with parking sensors concerned with taking delivery before a front camera is available? The more videos I see demonstrating Tesla Vision are starting to make me nervous - especially because I park in the garage and in tight parking spaces. 😟

No Recents Menu on Bottom of Screen?

On my previous Teslas, I could see most of the map with a menu on the bottom showing recent audio channels. Went to check out the Highland yesterday and for the life of me, couldn’t find a way for that smaller menu to display while still seeing the map. Is that no longer available?

Model 3 Highland (US) Waiting room

I really hope this can be fixed because again, they all looked like this… some higher than the dash, some lower.

Model 3 Highland (US) Waiting room

If the light is set to auto, it’s dim during the day compared to setting it to ON I found.

Model 3 Highland (US) Waiting room

I’m going to wait and see how the first Fremont owners fare. It’s such a hyped feature and designed to be straight and continuous. You can tell it’s the panel because on the passenger side of the cars I examined there is an even gap where the dash meets the door panel by the mirror on the...

Model 3 Highland (US) Waiting room

The door panel strip protrudes too far so from the drivers seat the lights are pretty badly misaligned. You can see it here a little on the passenger side (this one isn’t as bad). I’ll post more pics tomorrow.

Model 3 Highland (US) Waiting room

Some advice for us folks waiting on the Highland. I’ve been in 9 of them now and every one of them had an issue with the door lighting strip where it meets the dash strip. The door was aligned really well so might be an issue with the door panel itself on these early builds. It’s one of those...

    Autopark?

So, if I order a 2024 M3 which has no sensors, there's no summon and auto park features if I'm reading this correctly. Then how do they get away with listing the features on the ordering website under the $6k Enhanced Autopilot option? Am I missing something here?

    Highland 18 vs 19 wheels

Up til now, the 19" wheel upgrade resulted in a really pounding ride over the 18". Now that the suspension in the Highland has been improved and there are new tires, do you think will the 19"will still be as punishing?

Highland Standard vs Long Range differences?

I've been able to identify the following upgrades you get with the LR over the STD (beyond the obvious - range/performance/RWD-AWD): Alcantara vs fabric door panels. Additional speakers. Am I missing anything?
  18. jmatero

White vs Black interior on the long-range Model 3

No difference in white interior between models. You're paying for the upgrade. The white door panel is the same material as the seat material, not white Alcantara. The white seats I've had discolor quickly - particularly if you wear jeans - but cleaning them wasn't too difficult. However, the...

    Drove the Highland Yesterday.

I felt the difference in steering weights through the settings were better dialed in. In the pre-facelift, I'd keep it in comfort mode. In the 2024, it felt more over-assisted vs numb. In other words, comfort can be steered with very light resistance but you could still feel the road. Standard...

    Drove the Highland Yesterday.

You'd think that but honestly, it's very easy to get used to. My test ride was about 20 mins and wipers, flashers, signals were all pretty straightforward by the end of the ride. One thing that made the turn signals easy to adapt to is that the R signal button is further to the right, so easy to...

    Drove the Highland Yesterday.

I'm going to disagree with you here. They had a brand new 2023 LR as well and I drove them back-to-back (both with 18" wheels). The difference in "quiet" is not subtle. There is far less tire and wind noise, and you can only hear the front motor if you floor it... in the 2023 you could hear with...

    Drove the Highland Yesterday.

Drove the LR Highland at the Fremont Factory yesterday and there are a LOT of changes that the reviewers didn’t mention. Model Y Perfomance rear-ended - is it fixable?

Won't know for sure until they remove the bumper and get underneath but initial thoughts are it needs new bumper, hatch, straightened area between bumper system and trunk well.

    Finally Got FSD Beta

I gave up on waiting for FSD Beta. Been trying since this began but the constant (false) early collision and lane departure warnings keep destroying my score. And driving like an old lady from Pasadena in a Performance just to get a beta simply isn't worth the effort.

    Politics - Quarantine Thread

Probably. I mean, to drive a Tesla, you need excellent credit/finances. The majority of sales are in very liberal-minded, forward-thinking, urban areas of the world where fossil fuel is looked down on and high-tech along with the environment are valued. All that said, I think the left has a...

    Politics - Quarantine Thread

I've been able to separate Musk's personal opinions from my love of Tesla for a LONG time. But honestly, each time he opens his mouth lately, it's getting more difficult to do. And it's not because I either agree or disagree with him, but rather, his poor decision quality when it comes to what...

    Safety Score Beta Updated Today

So, the safety score appears to have been updated since yesterday. There used to be a slew of scoring factors but they have been reduced to just 3: Aggressive Turning, Hard Braking, and Forced Autopilot Disengagements. My frontal collision alert keeps ruining my score just driving down my street...

Do you see your wipers from seat?

I think this is actually by design. My drivers arm can't be lowered anymore as the tip of the blade is at the very bottom of the windshield. I agree, they moved to an arched arm on this side with a center sprayer that's always visible.

2020 Model Y LR, Tow, Boost, Power Frunk

Unless you sell privately to a Tesla fan, I would forget about recouping the paint protection and boost. Also, the $10k people pay for FSD doesn’t equate to an additional $10k back when selling. My 2020 white with tow/white interior/boost was $52k new and just sold it to a new-car dealer for...

    This new UI sucks

One thing that drives me bonkers is knowing what is and isn‘t selected or turned on. Take things like the seat warmers and radio favorites. Light grey is off, a little darker grey is on. How about grey is off and blue is on. Another one is how buttons/icons don’t show the current state but...

Steering wheel off center but alignment in spec?

How does a steering wheel self-center? To align a steering wheel, you do a four wheel alignment and if the wheel is off-center, both front tie rods get turned equally to center the wheel. If you watch YouTube videos of alignments at car factories, they lock the centered steering wheels in place...

Lots of refinement between 2020 and 2022 Model Y

And 2 more changes: Folding the rear seats back into position is VERY easy on the 2022. My 10 yo can do it easily with one hand. On the 2020 they felt like they weighed 200 pounds each. The second row outer seatbelts (and possibly the seat back cushions) have been redesigned so when unbuckled...

Steering wheel off center but alignment in spec?

My 2019 M3, 2020 MY and 2022 MY all had steering wheels that were not centered even though the car tracked perfectly down the road so you're not alone. I brought it back and they said they've seen a lot of this and that they corrected it. Nope... now it's off in the opposite direction. So now...

Lots of refinement between 2020 and 2022 Model Y

I found more differences: Hood baffle (large pad on underside) went from hard plastic to a much softer material and compresses where it contacts the hood. Might be why the frunk opens/closes much easier. Steering column plastic shroud redesigned eliminating the creaking and clicking when...
