We have used all the Superchargers mentioned by OP except Angola. No issues with ICEing in the spring during our roadtrip to and from New Jersey. Saw at most 2 other Model Ses at each SC.
Here's a link to the TM forum with good information on most Superchargers...
We made the trip to the Dells this winter in our 60 kWh Model S. 140 miles from our house to Madison in 20F not a problem. We charged to 19x miles at Madison, had the car unplugged for 3 days in single digit temperatures, some driving around and had enough to make it back to Madison. It was our...
mknox,
depending on how long you are staying in Chicago, you might want to contact the Highland Park Service Center as they have a supercharger at that location.
1994 Geo Prizm (dark red)
wanted a Dodge Neon, but got talked into going with the more reliable Toyota engine
1999 Toyota Solara (bright red)
technically not mine, but my daily driver for 5 years
2004 Toyota Sienna (silver/ tan/ whatever)
heavier/ taller/ wider/ longer than a Model S. If I...
My bare-bones configuration was a 40 kWh Model S with pano roof. We ended up with a blue 60 with pano/ tech/ tan leather/ obeche gloss/ SC/ air.
I have the pano open when temp is warmer than 50F. Not so popular with the rest of the family: too much sun/wind/ noise/ heat when open.
No issues...
Noticed that for the first time today as well after more than a year with the car as my husband got in the back with our son and was trying to get out before I put it in 'park'!
VIN 8945, 14,7xx miles, 4/2013 delivery
Had squeaking from behind the 17" monitor by the fall. Mentioned it to Service Center during 6K tire rotation (10/2013) but could not reproduce for the tech. Nothing done.
More pronounced and frequent squeaking by the time for annual service (3/2014)...
My 10 year old has set up his own driver profile. At 4'9" or so, he can reach the pedals. His 60 lbs in the driver's seat and foot on the brake pedal turns on the car.
I guess I don't technically qualify since I am married and put my husband's name on the registration along with mine. He wasn't at the delivery and I had to forge his signature. I have driven at least 14,000 of the 14,270 miles on the car. Here is my "girly" Model S.
Em,
check out the TM...
Sorry, changed to public.
Actually, that happened just before a planned 2000 mile trip. I wasn't sure what that meant, called Service and they replaced it. I didn't want any complications while out of town!
No noise whatsoever with lowering (5.9, ..94). I have it set at >55 MPH and have checked from time to time to see if it actually lowers since it is not that noticeable.
For day-today driving:
Left dash: music
Right dash: trip
Top: back-up camera
Bottom: energy/ music/ maps
Right scroll wheel: pano :)
For roadtrips:
Left dash: Nav (default: I don't need it there as I have it on the bottom screen)
Right dash: trip (energy usage since last SC)
Top: energy...
Same here. Used Madison x2, Rockford x1, Highland Park x2 and never saw another Model S charging while we were there. Yet to make it to Pleasant Prairie.
You should be fine! Especially in the flat midwest and now that it's warmer. Just keep an eye on your energy usage on the way up and you'll get the hang of it by the time you come back.
Actually, that's 70. You forgot to cross off Maumee, OH. I probably wouldn't be able to get Pleasant Prairie, WI until late spring/ early summer. North shore/ Wisconsin guys?
Finally reached double digits:
1. Normal, IL 2. Rockford, IL 3. Madison, WI 4. Highland Park, IL 5. Aurora, IL 6. Mishawaka, IN 7. Maumee, OH 8. Macedonia, OH 9. Somerset, PA 10. Hagerstown, MD 11. Newark, DE 12. Cranberry, PA
Cranberry is not listed on the TM website but shows up in the car. We will plan to make it a stop on the way back to Chicago from NJ tomorrow so we are not the slowest car on the highway. Maybe we can be the first non-PA resident to supercharge there :)
Thanks. I will have to see how the energy usage is to that point. Got <300 wH/ mile (rated range) over the weekend averaging 65 MPH. But with rain in the forecast in OH on Saturday, I might take JakeP up on the offer. Nothing much close to Somerset on Plugshare.
My Model S wouldn't connect with my iPhone last week prior to 5.8.8. TM had me disconnect the phone from the car, the car from the phone, reboot the car, turn phone off/ on and then reconnect to solve the problem.
Passed a white Model S going east on Griffin Road, Weston, FL last weekend on the way to Everglades Holiday Park where this early one (P012xx) with carbon fiber nosecone was parked.
cannot seem to turn them right side up!
28 F: preheated car for 40 minutes (lost 5 miles) with regen limited to 40 kW, went away 3-4 miles into 7.5 mile 20 minute suburban drive: 370's wH/mi
32 F: no preheating with regen limited to 20 kW, did not go away for the entire drive: 380's Wh/ mi
