A simple resolution for having multiple custom lightshows at any time

OK, I have a weird problem. I have Lightshow working on multiple drives with different show on each. I also have a small key tag attached to each so I know what show is on the drive. I tried to create a partition on my thumb drive for LIGHTSHOW/LightShow but while that worked I saw the the...

Another update- Friday's scheduled repair was rescheduled again for September 5th due to Parts not arriving yet. I did get confirmation that this fix would be under warranty and the invoice reflects no charge.

I think I'm going to turn OFF cabin overheat protection

Not so! Tesla had problems with cabin overheating due to the solar effect of the glass roof and so much black in the interior. If you read what Tesla says in the manual, they state exactly the opposite. That you should never leave children and animals in the car even with cabin overheat...

Keep cabin overheat protection on permanently

Good question. I have two Teslas. The Model S is driven maybe twice a week locally plus road trips on supercharging. The Y, my wife drives 5-6 times a week and a few days does 150-175 miles. She uses the wall charger with the timer set to give her 80% SOC at her departure time for the long...

Keep cabin overheat protection on permanently

Also the TeslaFi app can be setup to keep the car awake by simply polling. This might be more efficient than sentry mode which seems to really hit on that phantom drain number. I've never experimented with it but as I recall it didn't reset the timer on COP which is something I'm looking for.

Keep cabin overheat protection on permanently

Keeping the car plugged in has been recommended. Setting the charge current to low is the way the EVSE works when plugged into the 120v outlet with a 15 amp breaker. I could set it higher but that would frequently trip the circuit breaker. It works fine at maintaining my SOC during my off...

Keep cabin overheat protection on permanently

For when I travel I use an igloo cooler for drinks and sandwiches too. I added a 12v receptacle that is not switched with it's own fuse I use to keep it running. I believe it draws 5 amps or 60watts. Not bad at all. I've been to Arizona a number of road trips and I agree with you about...

Keep cabin overheat protection on permanently

When I reset Cabin Overheat Protection in the morning the car never goes above 105° which is spec according to Tesla. At 105 the fans come on and circulate the outside air to cool it down to 100° when the outside air temperature is the same. On cooler days the fans shut off about 96° when the...

    Charging port not opening sometimes

Just an update- Based on my photos Tesla decided I needed the new assembly so they ordered it and postponed my repair until Friday the 19th waiting for the part to come in. I got a response back today that they are ready for the repair now. Still confirmed to be done at my house. My SC is...

I also am looking for a solution to this. Sorry if I offend any who live in Alaska but here in Florida the car gets excessively hot. I don't drive it every morning to auto reset the COP. Like just now I forgot to reset it and just checked and the temperature is 148°F. There is some glue...

recalibrated? I'll post back what they come up with. Supposed to be mobile service on Monday the 15th. Hope they can fix it here. The local service center is a zoo now with many people picking up new Teslas. Hard to get into their driveway lately. Some friends had similar problem and...

    Charging port not opening sometimes

I recently noticed a similar issue with my 2020 Model S. It doesn't open with the press on the left. It doesn't open with the Supercharger or Wall charger button. However, if I want to charge I now use the screen unlock button. Then connect. Then I have to touch the start charging for the...

    FSD Beta 10.13

That's where we disagree. I've seen it too many times creep into a T-bone collision unless I abort and back up quick, same as Chuck had to do. It's what humans do because we don't have eyes at the front of the car. But unlike FSD-beta Humans can put it in reverse and back out of the lane or...

    FSD Beta 10.13

Only the cars with FSD purchased would get the free hardware upgrade if Tesla determines that is need to fulfill their listed features. I already got one chip set upgrade on my Model S for free as HW3 came out right at the time my Model S was being built with the remaining HW2.5. That was a...

I don't need to. Chuck uses that corner case because it is right around the corner from his home. But there are probably 10-100 million occluded intersections, some more or less blinded that Tesla will need to solve besides Chuck's corner. You can play games with your micrometer and...

    FSD Beta 10.13

Interesting how you know that location has perfect visibility. I live here and know what he has there isn't the worst I have seen but it is bad, mainly because too often cars hidden from view of the B-Pillar camera are traveling 60mph and when the Tesla creeps into the lane the fast car can't...

    FSD Beta 10.13

First of all I don't think Tesla is waiting for a 9 out of 10 ULT success to release the next update, rather they are looking to solve the high failure rate of ULT. It's a basic maneuver that I see as hampered by occluded vision and lack of cameras at the very front of the vehicles. So Tesla...

    FSD Beta 10.13

I wasn't quoting statistics. The trouble with putting whole numbers as a figure of speech is some will come along and want to disagree because their number is for example 91.702 vs 90%. When Musk says it is now 9 out of 10 times correct nobody questions that. My point is 1 time failure in...

    FSD Beta 10.13

The problem with FSD beta is that 90% is nowhere good enough. True FSD needs to be 100% perfect if it is a pathway toward Robo-Taxi. If there is one serious accident in 100 million miles of FSD, the regulators will seek to outlaw it's use in Level 3 + so Tesla needs to achieve the perfection...

    FSD Beta 10.13

My concern is that so many drivers will want to show off FSD to friends and not pay attention. Look at the Plaid owners who now want to show off the acceleration and speed the car is capable of. Is the Plaid safe driving 140 mph on the interstate by a person with no training as a race track...

I know it's not easy but comparing cost per minute is not a valid way because there are too many factors that affect these actual charges. In each charge session you have to adjust for charge power source such as Tesla 250KW or 150KW vs. what the Blink stations use, and then adjust the rate...

The two common problems I have heard from CCS users with any of the CCS cabinerts are the plug weight is so heavy and stiff that it pulls down and doesn't make good connection to the car's communications connections. I saw somebody used a telescoping stick to support it when plugged in. The...

Another thread on charging on salvage cars

First I'm glad to learn that the BritneySpears poster has a long history of Tesla shaming. I did not know that. As for the Tesla Supercharging network should be public infrastructure, I disagree. It is a private network for Tesla owners only, for now. That may change in the future as they...
