    Model 3 Range in NZ

In NZ Tesla use NEDC figures for range. So the range for the Model 3 is listed like this: Standard range + 460 km (285 m) Long Range 620 km (385 m) Performance 560 km (348 m) In the US the figures are: SR+ 250 miles (403 km) LR 322 miles (518 km) Perf...

    Supercharger - Palmerston North NZ

Yeah, they were not there 3 days ago. It is Just around the corner from where we plug in our Leaf. They look finished, though we do not have a Tesla to try with. Strange there are several listed as coming in the next 12 months in NZ but not at this location. I did hear that there were over...

    $300 Key

Just wanted to share this. We have a 2002 Toyota Corolla Fielder. It has a key with a button to remotely lock and unlock the car. More than a year ago the remote access stopped working. We thought, Okay probably needs a new battery. Leonie went to Manawatu Toyota where we get our car...

Extrapolation of Range and Battery Size(s)

Elon's reply was "hopefully 0.21", which to me means that is what they are trying to end up with. So the current range of 215 miles is not with a cd of 0.21 but the base range will improve if they can reach 0.21

    Model 3 superchargeable?

I have a thought(I do get them every once in a while); All Model 3 cars will have auto pilot. Once the Model 3 comes out all supercharging stations will be fitted with self charging snakes. The cars will have to have a programmed destination to be able to charge. Once the car has enough...

Which way is better for the battery?

Isn't this an important part of the equation? Charging to a higher SOC is okay if you use it and don't allow the battery to sit for long periods.

New renderings of storage space and 2nd row seats! (9/15)

This is where Tesla have got it Wrong. In their desire to keeps some things under wraps until (presumably) the 29th, they are asking you to confirm your order without giving the info you need to determine if the Model X will suit your needs. The fact that you have (correctly) put your order on...

New renderings of storage space and 2nd row seats! (9/15)

Ok, good answer. I give you the long narrow items bit, up to the amount of length lost. Skis as well, thou they have a hitch for that. I understand your point about the danger for the dogs, as you have said earlier. Perhaps that is solvable. I question the first 2. We need specs on that and...

New renderings of storage space and 2nd row seats! (9/15)

New renderings of storage space and 2nd row seats! (9/15)

I find this post interesting. People here have said that it is not a utility if it does not have folding seats. So I would like to know why? Think about this: when you buy a drill, you do not want a drill, you want a hole. So my question to Model X reservation holders is: What will you...

The big unknown: Will gen 3 be delivered on time?

I believe that the Model 3 will come out either right at the end of 2017 or in the first half of 2018. Here are my thoughts as to why: I am going to start by talking about goal setting. I was taught that a goal is not a goal unless to has a date on it. If you do not have a deadline to work...

    Superchargers in New Zealand

Should Solar PV owner be able to profit off selling excess power?

The answer to that question is NO. All customers should pay a fee to maintain the grid (they do here), it should not matter if you have PV or not.

Tesla to make 8.2 million batteries daily

shouldn't it be possible to take the number of cells made in a day, estimate how many day a year the factory would operate and get a total number made yearly. Then if that was 50GWh you could work out how many cells to create 1 KWh? Then how many cells would make up an 85KWh pack, a 50KWh...

    First stage reusability questions

I have a question about first stage reusability. How many missions would SpaceX expect from a reusable first stage rocket? Are we talking the same sort of reusability as a commercial jet? What are the limiting factors?

Prank road sign fools Speed Assist.

A good up to date navagation system will know what the speed limit is based on GPS (your location). I would believe that the cameras reading the speed signs would only alter your speed if it was lower than the speed limit for your location; for example, road works signs.

Audi, Porsche and Mercedes preparing a rival for Tesla

Hearing about the D just 9 days after taking delivery of P85+ merits a switch!!!

insacausa didn't get to participate because of Tesla. He was given his car early when he did not want it early. It is Tesla's fault that he did not get to participate. No one seems to have answered him or shot his complaint down in flames; I wonder why?

  37. PeterW

Deliveries are now pushed back? Q4 already had a very optimistic delivery projection.

Question: Are these pushed back delivery times world wide or mainly North America? Remember 35,000 guidance is for cars delivered not cars produced. Making a car for a Chinese customer in December will not help reach 2014 guidance.

Why I canceled my reservation on the Model S

Not knowing the area at all I was wondering how getting a Models S would add 3 hours to your trip so I did the google thing.
