    Coronavirus

We are done with coordinated response - it failed and is not coming back. Each state will make it's own rules from now on, some states already require masks and are preparing to make kids wear them at schools as well. If there's one thing US government will agree on is to print more money to...

Tesla 3 crashes into overturned truck on highway

Tesla 3 crashes into overturned truck on highway

White smoke could be both, Tesla passing by some dust as well as braking which would explain why dust cloud is larger than at other places.

Also, it was not hard to predict that COVID-19 will spread after Chinese New Year but US government pretended everything is ok and public officials I talked to (in February) were trying to assure me that I should worry about flu more. At that time CDC had not yet released guidelines for...

Uber's Self-driving AI Predicts the Trajectories of Pedestrians, Vehicles, and Cyclists

Tesla has been moving to Machine Reasoning for a while now although they do not have anything in production. This is really Tesla's strength as they have access to a lot more data than few Uber vehicles, for example, can provide.

    Coronavirus

I would argue that we have great science and powers of predictions but want someone else to pay for being ready (plus the rule that every time we get something done someone has to profit from it). Also, I think reliance on federal government money have stiffed and dumbed-down state level response.

    2020.20.5 has improvements to GPS

For the time being (until AI gets better) accurate GPS will help Tesla better detect failures and teach it's AI. I doubt that navigation will benefit as Tesla's GPS was already accurate enough for that. In addition, Tesla also said that they are not going to rely on centimeter level maps...

I suppose you can blame it on no one wanting to spend money (increase taxes) on preparedness beyond studies. Basically USA was not equipped to 'nip it in the bud' and from the start we played defense ( not to overwhelm hospitals with cases ). What contributed to spred was (is) that essential...

Wearing cloth mask is not a preventative measure. It's a polite thing to do but don't count on it to stop you from inhaling the virus. I tell my parents to wear N95 when shopping.

Delivery Today with 8 Paint Issues

Whomever made adjustments did not care to send it back for patch up. Given that more adjustments are needed - they not only left scratches but also were unable or unwilling to fix all the issues. I wonder if perhaps adjustments and paint damage were done at Tesla Service Center.

You're describing system failure, where people come with valid issues but use system in a way that is more costly. They do that because system allows them to or they have no other choice. Yes and no. I don't think it can be said with authority how COVID-19 compares to influenza. COVID-19 has higher R0 (is more contagious) than influenza (in large part because of influenza vaccinations). Therefore, since COVID-19 affects more people more quickly it is likely pulling forward...
