I agree with your points, but I'm guessing switching to wireless charging and USB-C is actually a cost saving measure for them. Those parts are already used on the Y, so instead of producing / stocking two different parts, now they only have to make / keep one type. I haven't seen anything...

I just picked up my M3 SR+, and while I don't have anything to compare it to, holy crap it's a quick car. They say 0-100km/h in 5.6 sec on SR+, but I bet I'd be at least a full second faster than that. It's incredible.

I tried that and was told they couldn’t do it unless they had the signed contract in hand. We just did it on site. Took less than 20 minutes.

That was the first thing I looked at when I saw their post!

He's from Canada, and we get a $5,000 rebate from our Feds, but the car has to be under $55,000 to qualify for it. In BC I get an extra $3,000 credit. And ya, for us the price jumps up $12K going up to the LR... I'm sticking with the SR+.

I'm taking delivery on the 12th, when the same VIN, and I was told it was built the same day. There goes my theory of the VIN's being geographical...

Does anybody know at what point in a custom build does the VIN get assigned to you? I ordered May 6 and got my VIN last night. But does this mean the car is already built and has now been assigned to me, or does this VIN association happen when they start to build the car?

Purchase Agreement showed up in my online account tonight with my VIN! Not sure how long it takes from here to hear about delivery, but it is Sunday night, so I can understand not hearing from them yet, haha!!

Yes, this was what I understood as well, that they made the decision because there is already a lot of parts between the 3 and the Y that are the same. Now I'm glad I haven't got a VIN yet, hopefully mine will be in the new batch!

Just reading that they were adding wireless phone charges, did yours come with one? The way the article read sounded like it was going to happen right away.

Also keep in mind for those of us in BC, the price drop on the M3's brought the purchase price below $55K, which drops the PST back down from 8% to 7%, a savings in over $1,000. The red price is just over $55K, so that goes back up to 8%!

When did you get your text? Did the text say you were getting delivery around June 20, or was that what you were told previously? Have you checked the source code for your VIN?

I also ordered the same thing earlier, but I was only May 6, not in April... I think I read something somewhere though that they deliver geographically in each Quarter. So they were farther East in BC, even though it's the same pickp-up location. I wonder if that made a difference?? I'm on the...

Ok, this scares the crap out of me! I ordered my SR+ on May 6, and when I asked the guy in Vancouver he said they were hoping for delivery the end of June. I don't think I can wait until September... My wife might actually kill me for talking about it so much...
