    Gemini Wheel Cover plastic noise

We just finished a 5481 mile trip. I put Door Ease stainless lube on all of the wheel cover contact points at 500 miles. No noise! Averaged 289 WH/M with the wheel covers on. I don’t plan to repeat the trip without the wheel covers to test the aero effect, or remove the covers to inspect for...

    Hub Cab Cracking Sound

Noise can alert pedestrians! They’ll turn around and expect to see a Chevrolet Chevette coming at them!

    Model Y Front Seat

It’s the height above the floor that really makes the seating position much more comfortable. It’s about 5” taller because the seats are mounted on floor risers under the carpeting. I’m 6’4” and it just took one “sitting” to convince me!!! My wife is 4’11” and needed a pillow in the Model 3...

    Anyone had the roof tinted?

We wanted something removable so we went with the Tesmanian mesh sunshield. It blocks a lot of heat and is still translucent. Going up to 104 for the next few days. It can be removed and folded up to fit in its tote bag. Allows star gazing later when it’s cooler.

    Hub Cab Cracking Sound

My Model Y wheel covers made the same crackling sound (or worse). I applied a very light coating of “Door Ease” wax type lubricant on all of the contact surfaces clip hooks, center hub tabs, and around entire wheel lip. Sound is gone. The lube is kind of like “chapstick” for cars. Won’t herm...

With so many quality issues after delivery - how many people are actually happy with their car?

We love our Model Y! Two minor adjustments after we got it home. Panel gaps, paint, interior, trim, ride, handling, lack of noise. All good. VIN in the 11000‘s.

Windshield sun shade same as model 3?

YelloPro windshield foil made for the Model Y was $29.99 on Amazon. Nice dimpled quilt. Made in the USA. Perfect fit.

Rear Hatch Protection Model Y Bumper Design Defect

Our easy solution is to lock a hitch and 2” ball into the receiver with a bright tennis ball to minimize shin bruises. 3500 lb avoidance to help protect the hatch/bumper/paint.

Model Y black substance near tail light

It looks like the “expanding foam” that is applied inside the quarter panel before paint. Designed to expand in paint bake ovens to seal gaps at joints and deaden sound. Excess can be trimmed with a careful razor blade and touched up with white paint to blend. Tesla service or DIY if you have...

Tesla Model Y Glass Roof Sunshade

We installed ours yesterday. It’s going up to 109 tomorrow in Tucson. Nice drop in interior (rear space) temperature. We can remove it and store it in its bag when tourists want the sky view ride or for night viewing. Cost less than my sunglasses!

    Carpeted Floor Mats?

Our Model Y LR AWD came with carpet floor mats. I believe they are standard equipment. We took them out and installed the Tesmanian fitted weather floor mats. If yours didn’t come with mats, you can have ours

    Gemini Wheel Cover plastic noise

Picked up new Model Y LR AWD with Gemini wheel covers on June 15th. When outside of the vehicle, our wheel covers sounded like they were full of gravel even though first 257 miles were all on clean highway and city streets. Cause: Dry plastic “creaking” while rolling. Removed wheel covers and...
