Lets talk mud flaps, spot welded nuts and loose bolts (also why every Model Y owner needs mud flaps)

Saw this one mentioned here previously. No experience with them though since I went with the cheap molded plastic type for SoCal weather. https://evmudflaps.com/collections/garde-boues-pour-tesla-model-y/products/4-garde-boues-model-y

Homelink for Model Y - Is it worth it?

When I bought and had Homelink installed on my new Y last week, it was $350. I just figured Tesla raised the price of it.

7 Seater 2nd Row End Cap Issues

I have the end cap issue on a 7-seater Y that was finally delivered two weeks ago. Oddly, none of the second row caps were installed when I picked up the car - they were just loosely sitting in the center console and on the floor in the second row. A mobile service tech who came out for...

    7 seat waiting room

9/5/21, black seats. One of the back seat rail caps that wasn’t installed initially has now come off twice when I moved and lifted the second row seat to get access to the third row. I’ll have to keep an eye on this.

I picked up my MYLR7 from the new Long Beach Tesla location this morning. I didn't go through a comprehensive checklist, but I looked over and tested quite a bit, and everything I checked looked good. Panel gaps were pretty even, better than what I have on my 2018 MS. The only thing that...

Just got my VIN today, F560. Must be a SoCal push.

    7 seat waiting room

Almost the same here, although my EDD was pushed to 10/13 - 11/17. How bad did the SA screw up my order from 9/5/21? Sheesh. That’s close enough for me to consider delaying to next year if there’s going to be a tax credit.

First 2 week window here, too. The EDD is one day later than yours at 9/18-10/2, so probably lower priority.

    7 seat waiting room

The navigation in my Model S tells me to exit the freeway to the left sometimes when the off ramps are to the right. It will indicate a left exit turn up until about a mile away then switch to a right exit turn indicator. They could be top talent, but they execute poorly.

On the one hand it makes me feel a bit better that I'm not alone with the ridiculous wait time. On the other hand we shouldn't even be this far out from our original EDDs. My brother just ordered a MYP and he's probably going to get it before I get my MY7. Again, thanks in part to the...

    2021 MY wheel alignment issue

So hostile... How is someone reasonably supposed to notice a wheel alignment issue that results in premature inside tread wear within 100 miles? Short of obvious indicators like an off-center or pulling steering wheel, you won't notice anything. Tread wear that is enough to visually see will...

    2021 MY wheel alignment issue

That is akin to saying that noticing panel gap issues, or whatever else is common with Telsas that already need to be fixed upon delivery, is the responsibility of the customer, and it is not something that should have been correct when received by the customer. I'm not sure why you're trying...

    2021 MY wheel alignment issue

Am I responsible for poor alignment from the factory? You give Tesla too much credit. I've learned my lesson with the S that the alignment from the factory might not be ideal and don't want to see the same mistake repeated with my Y if/when it ever comes. If they set the car up with poor...

    2021 MY wheel alignment issue

Do the service centers typically charge for fixing an alignment issue that results in the wear of the inside rear tires? This happened to my S to the point that one of the rear tires corded on the inside edge while the rest of the tire looked ok. I thought this was probably a one-off issue...

Same, my 9/5/21 order got pushed from 6/16-7/14 to 7/6-8/17. The worst part is seeing some others in the Los Angeles area in this thread getting their cars now, which is probably when mine should have been due.

    7 seat waiting room

In Los Angeles I often see Tesla delivery trucks on the 405 driving pretty quick and one lane left of where they're allowed to be for that kind of truck. Definitely looks like they're trying to rush their deliveries.

How did you remove the Carrier Direct delivery option? I can't seem to find that on the website or in my app. Might be worth it for me to try removing that to see if my EDD gets pushed forward, too.

*sigh* Now I'm pretty sure the SA who placed my order at the Buena Park, CA location messed up. My EDD just got pushed back from May 14 - June 11 to June 4 - July 2. It looks like everyone else who ordered around the same time as me (9/5/21) with the same configuration or even a very similar...

Exact same specs as above. OD: 9/5/21 at Buena Park, CA Tesla location with an employee entering in the order details. Original EDD at the time of order was January-February 2022 EDD now is May 14 to June 11, 2022. I have no idea how they determine who's in line where. :(

Tesla wall connector gen3 overheating fix

Just took a look today, it's actually on 1.4.0-10, with no update available when checking on the charger's page.

Tesla wall connector gen3 overheating fix

Yes, that was pushed into my charger after I called the support number. I waited a few months to see what others experienced as far as support and results before finally calling in myself.

Tesla wall connector gen3 overheating fix

The latest firmware helped in my case, but didn't fully fix the problem. I still see the charge current drop slightly in warmer temperatures. In cooler temperatures it looks fine. I'd still prefer to be charging at the full rate, so I'm not settling with this fix just yet.

Tesla wall connector gen3 overheating fix

It's definitely not the hot weather in my case, at least not now. Maybe when the interruptions first occurred, it was a pretty hot day, but this week has been pretty cool and the charging has been stuck at half power no matter what. Maybe it really is a faulty sensor circuit that initially...

Tesla wall connector gen3 overheating fix

Just for the heck of it, I switched the charge limit back to 40A and the throttling is down to 6A (3 mi/hr). So basically the fancy wall charger is now no better than using the mobile charger with a standard AC outlet.

Tesla wall connector gen3 overheating fix

I take back what I said about lowering the charger limit to 32A working for me as a temporary hold-over... At this setting, my charger is throttling all the way down to 16A max, giving me 10 mi/hr! Wonderful.

Tesla wall connector gen3 overheating fix

Hopefully Tesla gets this figured out in their firmware. I've been experiencing the same thing others have reported for the past two weeks charging at 40A (had no issues before that since installing back in April). First it was constant interruptions with the previous firmware version. Now...
