Do you hand wash or car wash your Tesla?

Hand wash only. With my first MY, I would occasionally take it to a touchless car wash, particularly in the winter. The local place wipes down the car afterwards, so it was good - no swirl marks! However, I began to notice the black trim pieces on the doors/windows got discolored. I've seen...

    FSD 12.x download selection logic

@joelkfla - definitely follow the guidance to let FSD set the speed limit. Set it to aggressive and you'll be blown away with how amazing this version drives by itself. Still not perfect, almost turned left in front of another car yesterday, but it's truly impressive and fun to witness.

FSD v12 coming on 2024 branch soon...

Happy to share that I'm downloading 2024.3.6 , which includes the 12.3.2.1 FSD. According to TeslaFi, that's going out to 547 vehicles today. Nice!

    Recent Navigation list is empty

Will do. Curiously - I'm just back from lunch and the address I entered still shows on the Recent list. I'll be interested to see if it's still there later tonight/tomorrow.

    Recent Navigation list is empty

Seems like a bug, the Navigation list of Recent places is empty. (2024.2.11) It's a new car, less than 300 miles but I've gone many places already and the list is totally empty. Occurs to me the issue might be related to different profiles but I'm certain there's been many destinations under my...

    FSD 12.x download selection logic

Thanks @clydeiii That's kinda what I figured. It's interesting to monitor TeslaFi for the trends. At this point, there are more vehicles on my same build than any other. 38.3% of the fleet within Teslafi is on the same build - 2024.2.7 (11.4.9) and 207 pending installs. Next closest is...

FSD v12 coming on 2024 branch soon...

Awesome! I have a new Model Y 2024, with FSD 11.4.9 (2024.2.7). I got a brief taste of FSD v12.3 on my 2021 Model Y before I replaced it with the 2024 edition. While I was impressed with FSD 12.3, it was noticeably slower than v11.x. Some would argue it's more cautious. Either way, it was...

    FSD 12.x download selection logic

I was thrilled to get FSD 12.3 on my 2021 Model YLR, then I sold it. The FSD was transferred to my new 2024 Model Y, which was part of the reason to buy new. However, the FSD on my new vehicle is 11.4.9 (2024.2.7), so I went backwards. I doubt anyone has a good understanding of the logic, but...

If you fast charge, Tesla will permanently throttle charging

@Zextraterrestrial - great detail. What app did you use to capture and graph that data? Thx!

    CT exterior width

Thanks @scottf200 ! Interesting and we've all seen discussion on removing the mirrors. Guess that's the best option, to just remove them. The F150 and other trucks have the option to fold in the mirrors with the push of a button. That seems like the best of both worlds.
  12. KDeanCville

    CT exterior width

I've seen this comparison table for dimensions: If this is accurate, the CT is 15" wider than a Ford F-150 or a Chevy Suburban! I might need to remodel my garage, to be able to fit the CT. Certainly wouldn't be able to open the door. (Yes, I know using Summon is a possible solution but that's...

Average Tesla Supercharging Cost per kWh: What Number to Use for TeslaFi and Other Data Loggers?

Thanks @GtiMart . I see how to get the info after the fact. It would be nice to have a setting to do that automatically. Doing it row by row is a nuisance.

Average Tesla Supercharging Cost per kWh: What Number to Use for TeslaFi and Other Data Loggers?

It's curious, even a bit misleading that TeslaFi shows 'savings' instead of actual cost for the charging. I have no idea where that number comes from and don't really care. I want to know the actual cost. Seems like most Tesla Superchargers cost about $0.44 per kwh. It would be nice to see...

    CyberTruck (CT) waiting room

Like everyone, I also continue to wait. Trying to decide if that wiper is a deal killer and hoping they come up with a more aesthetic solution for the final production.

    Coolant hose needs replacement

Agreed! That blue fluid is almost certainly the battery coolant. My MY was less than 2 yrs old when it developed a pinhole leak of the battery coolant. Finding on the garage floor, like your photo, was exactly how I discovered it. Suggest you arrange for service ASAP. Note that Tesla doesn't...

Is there a way to send text messages to my car instead of my Apple Watch?

One thing that took some getting used to with the Apple Watch - when the iPhone is active (screen is awake), an incoming text will NOT show up on the Apple Watch. It still shows on the Tesla messaging app, just like on the phone. It's frustrating not to have support for group texting on the...

    Coolant hose needs replacement

Resolution: SC in Richmond, VA replaced the hose for no charge. Said there was a hole in it but not from rodents or damage, just a manufacturer's defect. They did a pressure test of the system for 30+ minutes to ensure no other issues, which I appreciate. They also mentioned they have a number...

    Coolant hose needs replacement

Thanks guys. Appreciate the comments. I'll circle back after chatting with the SC. Still 'waiting on parts' for the replacement hose.

    Coolant hose needs replacement

Thx. I understand the rodent concern. If that's NOT the case, do we attribute this to a manufacturing defect (or damage)?

    Coolant hose needs replacement

Thanks @jcanoe - good point and definitely will do. It's unlikely because the car has lived 99.9% of its life in a brand-new garage (and house). The garage floor is epoxy and spotless. Yes, I'm one of those types. Still doesn't hurt to ask the question and check. For ICE vehicles, (which...

    Coolant hose needs replacement

So my 2021 Model Y started dripping blue coolant on the garage floor, just as we were heading out for a trip. 'Sparky' has 19K miles on it. The slow leak got worse with a couple supercharger stops. Got the Coolant low, OK to drive warning Then progressed to limiting top speed to 65 mph and...

Tire repair kit and sound absorbing foam

Picked up a sheet rock nail in Baltimore, while traveling. First tire shop (NTB) couldn't lift a Tesla - no jack pads; second tire shop (Mr Tire) lifted it but wouldn't work on the tire due to the foam on the inside. So we added air and drove it to NY. I arranged for Tesla Service to flatbed...

Wiki MASTER THREAD: Actual FSD Beta downloads and experiences

A couple of times with 10.8.1 upon opening the door of our MY, the screen remains dark. I can drive the car but it's a weird experience driving with no display. A reboot of both scroll wheels solves the issue. Has anyone else experienced a sleepy display screen with 10.8.1?

UPS's not working on battery power

Excellent! Thanks for the detailed and informative response. I'll dig in to those threads and then call Powerwall support. FYI - we've been without power for over 30 hrs now due the snowstorm in VA/DC. The Powerwalls anticipated the storm, boosted the charge to 100% and that got us through...

UPS's not working on battery power

Having an extended grid outage today due to a big snowstorm. The cool thing is the Tesla app new the forecast and charged up the Powerwall to 100%. However... I have APC UPS devices on my router and TVS. These UPS'S don't get enough power to function when we're on battery. If I unplug the...

I have the Watch for Tesla app on my Apple Watch and use it occasionally. Yesterday morning, my phone battery died while I was at the gym. (I know I should always carry the key card). I didn't try the watch app. I know it can unlock the car - but can I DRIVE the car in that scenario (dead...

🎉🥳 Whoo Hoo!! Finally !!! I'm SO EXCITED to get the FSD beta - 36.8.5 showed up today. My Safety Score moved to 99 on Sunday when an bad day dropped off from 30 days ago. Wow! What a crazy, happy feeling to be finally done with the Safety Score game. I realize the beta is not ready for prime...

Has anyone received the FSD Beta software update in between rollouts?

OK - so I'm not-so-patiently waiting. Finally dropped off a bad score, to get my Safety Score average to 99, on Sunday morning. Was hoping the FSD beta invite would appear Monday night. Still waiting. The biggest benefit of getting the beta might be to be done with the Safety Score...

How many Safety Score 98 waiting for FSD 10.4?

Hey @HyperionMark - any luck getting the 10.4 beta yet? Like you, I just got a 99, finally rolled off a very bad day from the most recent 30. Hoping we both get the beta without waiting another 10 days!

How many Safety Score 98 waiting for FSD 10.4?

I'm continuing to play the Safety Score game, to at least maintain my 98 and have a question. Wiki FSD Beta 10.4

That does appear to be the case, with 10.4 being only a bit better than 10.3. I'm just tired of playing the Safety Score game, trying to maintain my 98. Hoping this silliness doesn't continue much longer.

    Wiki FSD Beta 10.4
