Poll : Which is better - FSD Beta 10.10 vs 10.9/10.8

I’ve had that happen with both versions and it’s supremely annoying. What’s really frustrating is that it happens even with the speed based lane change option off. While I want to believe they have a bunch of talented folks working on FSD, things like this make me wonder if they’re all rowing in...

    10.8 FSD

We’ve got snow in the southeast part of WA as well and 10.8 has had its ass kicked by it. Even with clear driving lanes visible to a human, with the center and side striping covered by snow it struggles mightily.

    10.8 FSD

Agreed, but I don’t get why FSD has such a bias for map data over camera data. As much as 10.8 has thoroughly impressed me, and it has, the trouble spots on my drives are still most often from new/recent road construction changes, apparently not reflected in the reference.

    10.6.1

I completely understand this unwillingness to tolerate FSD’s many shortcomings. I see enough similar posts that I’m curious if they’re really getting the quantity of FSD user data they need to accelerate development. I force myself to use it pausing only when it exceeds the patience of other...

    FSD Beta 10.6.1

I’m finding the inappropriate nags to be much less with 10.6.1 … but I’m getting this random benign-sounding tone every couple minutes or so on drives. There is no accompanying text or explanation of any kind on the screen. I see nothing about it in the release notes. Anyone else getting this...

    FSD Beta 10.6.1

I’m also curious if the percentage of miles driven with a FSD/AP engaged is a factor. Since getting my Y in July 2020 I’ve tried to let it do the driving as much as possible. I don’t have a ton of miles but I always get the updates early.

    FSD Beta 10.6.1

I had 10.6.1 execute a congested two-lane roundabout perfectly yesterday. But as we’ve all seen, that’s no guarantee it will happen again tomorrow. It is definitely evaluating left turn conditions faster and more accurately, IMO. I too am embarrassed by the auto high-beam behavior. It regularly...

    Expanded FSD Visualization

What finally worked for me was to minimize the nav turn by turn list. Odd, and certainly not intuitive.

Same. Soft reset did not help. Did you find a solution?

Wiki MASTER THREAD: Actual FSD Beta downloads and experiences

This seems to be a fair and representative perspective of many beta testers … which is why Tesla would be wise to put on the phantom brakes to adding more users. I happen to be very risk tolerant and truly enjoy the thrill of being a “test pilot” but many/most just aren’t comfortable with the...

Wiki MASTER THREAD: Actual FSD Beta downloads and experiences

I’m curious if you own a Tesla and have used FSD Beta. Regardless, you can’t really believe your observations here have not already occurred to the brilliant AI team at Tesla and been put under a microscopic and evaluated from countless perspectives. And Waymo?! Really?! Tesla will be the ones...

Wiki MASTER THREAD: Actual FSD Beta downloads and experiences

So many naysayers. Tesla has an army of the best brains, and mountains of cash. Two years tops.

Wiki MASTER THREAD: Actual FSD Beta downloads and experiences

FSD will only increase in value, and, accordingly, cost. It was an 8k option when I got my Y-LR. Knowing what I do now, I’d pay double that … and then some. I used the non-beta version all the time, only pausing for turns. The beta is effing awesome but a bit of a stress-fest. Eventually it will...

    FSD Video Record Button Use

Ditto with the microscopic button frustration. As for our feedback, I suspect they won’t respond to any of us directly, under the advice of the corporate legal team. It’s probably still good to send it for those things not so obvious … unlike the near-death video clips.

    10.3.1 rolling out

Ditto for me. IMO, anytime FSD decides on a significant speed change, a discrete explanation somewhere on the display should appear. It would help us help them, for when these random speed changes happen in the absence of lights, traffic, curves in the road or posted speed limit changes. And...

    10.3.1 rolling out

Right on! For me, so far 10.3.1 has been a combination of a roller coaster ride and sitting in the passenger seat while my teenage daughter learned to drive … and I absolutely love it. IMHO, those of us gifted with the opportunity to help advance this amazing technology need to do all we can to...

    FSD Video Record Button Use

Not an answer to your questions, but after a few “interesting” moves by 10.3.1 which were button-press worthy, I sent the FSDBeta team an email to ask if they were interested in additional written blab about the circumstances or were they good with letting the clip content do the talking. Just...

Post your Travel trailer that you tow with your Y

I’m in the process of restoring an old canned ham (58 Stanley) to tow with the MY. How was the experience with the Shasta? Do you have the factory tow package?

Steering wheel hack no longer working in 2020.44.10.1

I've found 2 lbs to be the perfect weight. I use the head of a 2 lbs sledge hammer ($5 at Harbor Freight) with a bit of contour applied using a 4 1/2 inch angle grinder to get it nestled in the nook of the steering wheel, held in place with a rubber band for quick easy removal.

    Xpel Protection or 3M DIY

I've done the DIY. It's definitely tedious but there are high quality kits available and if you take your time you can get results that are very good for 25% of the cost of a professional install. I installed this one last week. I'm very happy with the outcome.

    Center console DIY upgrade

There are several versions out on Thingiverse if you search under Model 3. I only found one that tried to integrate a usb hub, but found the design unnecessarily complex and difficult to print.

Here are the stl and gcode files for those with 3D printers. My design adds the USB hub holder to the original basic tray from jonco223 on Thingiverse.

    Center console DIY upgrade

Just printed this front console insert with a mount for 4-port USB hub. So much more convenient then fishing around in the depths of the front compartment. It fits snugly in the opening with no adhesive or fasteners and lifts out easily as well. It is designed to hold this very popular hub. I...
