    Alarm going off every night

To close this thread out. The alarm went off four nights running and then hasn’t since. I assume it was an insect of some sort.

    Motorway range

excuse me what? I have a M3LR 2020 refresh, with the motorised boot and black window trims. I don’t know anything about a heated steering wheel… is this one of these funny things you have to pay extra for like the premium Internet/map pack that I don’t bother with?

    Alarm going off every night

This is an odd one. My car alarm has gone off in the evening three days running now. Not exactly the same time but between approx 8 and 10pm. Sometimes more than once. I work from home so know the car alarm hasn’t gone off during the day. I’ve checked the doors and windows and boots etc and...

    Intelligent octopus stopped working!

I did a few days of just manually charging it and I’ve gone back to IO control and it seems to be working this week. I’ve got no idea why!

    Intelligent octopus stopped working!

I might just manually do it myself like I used to on Go. Need to speak to octopus as my tariff runs out in a few weeks. Thanks.

    Intelligent octopus stopped working!

Hi all. I’ve been on IO for over a year but in the last few weeks it just stopped working! The car does its initial 5 mins or so of charging on plug in. Then IO stops it and makes an overnight charging schedule as per usual. But then I wake up and find nothing more has happened. Sometimes I...

    [UK] 2022.44

Have to disagree with you there. I’ve had my car over two years now and I’ve noticed several minor background changes that aren’t in the official change log. The Phantom breaking issue is nothing like it was I first got the car. I don’t remember that ever being flagged as a change. The extra...

    [UK] 2022.44

Sorry team can’t face reading 23 pages! I’ve got the update (44.25.2) earlier this week and there’s a few nice mainly cosmetic changes. I really like the fact that trip and tyre pressures are back at the bottom right corner if you swipe right, like it was a few years ago. Emissions mode from...

    Wheel alignment

I would say so. Just getting the bolts checked up and the wheels looked at is a very standard job.

Long delay replacing Model 3 Windscreen

Thanks! Got it done in Cardiff. They have an in house tech and he wasn’t complimentary about the Autoglass previous replacement!
  11. C

    Wheel alignment

Fortunately I don’t pay for tyres as it’s a lease car, but there’s no point being wasteful and I would rather it was safe! Thanks for the tips chaps. I’ve asked them to sort alignment so we will see. I have previously paid to have professionally set up a track/race car and that involved...

    Wheel alignment

I haven’t seen this posted recently on the search. I would strongly advise anyone doing decent mileage to have a look at your front tyres. Particularly the inner edge. I just parked my car tight in the curb and left the wheel on full lock-thought I’d take a quick look at the tread - glad I did -...

Finally got mine done. 7 month wait!

Long delay replacing Model 3 Windscreen

Jeeeez. So while I’m pleased for you that you’ve got yours turned round quickly I’m absolutely fuming to read that it happened. Six bloody months!

Long delay replacing Model 3 Windscreen

Coming late to this thread, and apologies I can’t face reading all 10 pages. I’ve been waiting on a windscreen since January. Initially through Autoglass, and now through Tesla. Has anyone had any consideration/success rejecting the car via the lease company for this ridiculous situation...

    Knock/bang during charging?

    It’s exactly that. Great find!
  17. C

EV running costs starting to look expensive?

Saving me loads. I do 80 miles most days, charging at home on intelligent octopus so 7.5p/kW for about 30% battery per day. Averaging about 270w/mile so I figure about 2p per mile. I also have some free supercharging miles that I’m working my way through so less overall. My 330d was 13p/mile...

Alright. Consensus is in - ‘normal stop worrying’. Thanks team 👌🏻

    Knock/bang during charging?

Tried the search but kept finding crashes… Had my 3 for about 18m/20k miles now (nov19 facelift). Most times I use the supercharger I notice after a few minutes a fairly loud knock/clunk coming from under the car, also feel the vibration in my feet. Only happens once per time and doesn’t appear...

Another ‘suddenly in km on app’ user here. Didn’t obviously see a fix scanning the thread. Frustrating!

    Charging issues 36.5.5

Hi all. As many have said above, I worked round this issue. 1. Plugged it in and started a charge during the daytime. 2. In car, increased the charge to 32A 3. Stopped charging and left the schedule set 00:30-> 4. Did not touch the app! Still says 10A for me on that. #stupid 5. Seems to have...

    Charging issues 36.5.5

Interestingly, I never made the jump to maths but it is easy: Power = current x voltage. So 32A x 220V = 7040W = 7kW Going back to my OP, if my car was only charging at 10A the last 2 nights it’s clear to see why it wasn’t charging fast! 🤦🏻‍♂️

    Charging issues 36.5.5

Every day’s a school day. Just plugged it in and started charging and it Does allow me to up the amps. But defaults to 10A if I stop and also via the app. This must be new, but explains why my year of consistency has gone. Better come back pdq - I’m not going out at midnight every night to...

    Charging issues 36.5.5

Thanks chaps. That might explain it… partly. Just sitting in the car now and it doesn’t even allow the slider to go to 32A. Max it is allowing is 16, and it was set to 10A when I got in. Huh?! Why can’t I have 32?!

    Charging issues 36.5.5

Hi team, Since the new update this week my car has not been charging properly. I’ve done 13k in the last 11 months so have a fairly consistent routine - plug in at night, scheduled charging from 00:30, usually 3.5hrs of charging time needed to get from 45% back to 80%. Since the update on...

    Does anyone wave anymore?

I rarely wave nowadays. In fact, I’ve been keeping a personal tally on it and it’s been well over 40 days since I last went for a drive and didn’t see a Tesla. The M4 corridor between Bristol and Cardiff feels like the model 3 must be the most popular selling car in the UK. (I don’t think it...

Autopilot switching from 70 to 55mph joining M20 from M26

I think I actually read the manual about this believe it or not. Tesla claim it is to match the speed of “other road users”. Perhaps the data is taken from Waze or something similar?

Autopilot switching from 70 to 55mph joining M20 from M26

I’ve had the same problem for some time, and M49 to M5 interchange it drops you to 65 just before the bend, it’s really annoying, I just switch autopilot off before I get there as mentioned above. Conversely, the M4 through Newport is now 50 zone and the autopilot doesn’t change at all – and...

Battery drain while parked or car in storage

Thanks for you thoughts. I worked from home today and interestingly the car only lost 2% over 9 hours after I unplugged for this experiment. I wonder if after driving the car for an hour, then as the battery cools it loses charge? i’m back at work tomorrow so I will try again.

Battery drain while parked or car in storage

Interesting reading. 2021 LR. I’m in the UK and daytime temperatures are typically 0 - 5°C at the moment (approx 35-40 F) and my car is consistently losing about 5% of its charge while I’m at work. Perhaps 8-9 hrs today dropped it from 63->58%. I have sentry mode off, I’ve change the master...

    Contact From Tesla

Yes. As others have said, the communication is painful. I also got mine through NHS but via Arnold Clark. The most important info you can get is your RN (reservation number). Then you will be able to identify when your car is built/loaded to ship. The only useful person after that is Mr...

Tesla All Weather Protection Kit [mudflaps/ppf] - Anyone in the UK Been Contacted?

Good to know it’s not just me. There is no way Tesla have tested these in any way shape or form - including fitment from what I can see on this thread.

So annoyingly, after having mine a month and 1500 miles, my side camera has stopped working. I had hoped I’d got away without this issue I almost feel sorry for the poor guy at Tesla I complained to - he said he’s already had this conversation several times this week and expects to have several...

    Phantom braking (TACC/AP) [Not AEB]

Yes x512456. I have been saying this. It needs re-calibrating and moving a foot rightwards and then the HGVs won’t be so bloody close! Less PB episodes that way I’m sure. I get them daily probably, but I tend to keep my foot on the throttle so I’m primed for action.... hardly a relaxing process!

Tesla All Weather Protection Kit [mudflaps/ppf] - Anyone in the UK Been Contacted?

Thanks for flagging this on the other post. I can confirm above that with the extensions it drags not only on speed bumps but also on the ground if you’re going round a corner! I don’t even have the performance with slightly lowered suspension (IIRC) - they will be awful. Total fail. My...

A couple of you have mentioned mudflaps in the last few posts. I’ve just had some installed today and I’m really not happy with them. They are ridiculous and are less than 2 cm from the road while static and me not in it! Going round corners they scratch the ground. Can anyone comment? Have...

Scheduled Off-Peak Charging and departure time cabin warming

Another vote for EV.energy app - it just works. Although, the energy it claims it puts into my car it’s different from what my Pod-Point app thinks. Who knows what’s actually going on? Wife keeps telling me not to worry about it but my obsessions are creeping in…

Long Trip - Chill or Sport

I feel otherwise. I use the chill mode a lot - we call it ‘children’ mode in my house. I find with Chill enabled it is like a long throw accelerator pedal such as on a TVR, just gives me a little more ease of finesse and stops my children feeling sick! I would imagine, but untested theory...

Newbie - 12 Months ownership review

Really excellent write-up and interesting to see your one-year experiences. I agree with what those have said above, you’re paying too much for your electricity and some of those quibbles have been updated in recent software. It will be very interesting to see how these cars are performing at...
