Need to replace two tyres, should I go for CrossClimate 2s?

I agree, my CC2s are almost 30k old , plenty of tread left, no sign of loss in efficiency and measurably quieter then the original PS4, as I reported on here 2.5 years ago. This subject has been discussed so many times I’m surprised people are still questioning.😒

    [UK] 2023.44

I’ve experienced that for possibly the last 12 months, (and commenting to dilly) particularly with hgv’s & sometimes with other vehicles that are close to the line between us, so it’s not new to 44.x

SolarEdge (SE) tech support sucks, beware. (long thread)

Join the club. My installer didn’t even leave my system in max self consumption. It took another 3 months to get tech support to help out. SE are possibly the only manufacturer that doesn’t allow the end user to set their own profiles, at present anyway. Myself and others have been told by SE...

Hi Tom, Your TOU periods are different to mine, I’m on octopus go so my low rate is 12.30am to 04.30 & peak rate the remaining time. Who is your energy supplier & tariff name? Barry

Take a look at this screenshot taken a few moments ago, what do you make of that. Something to do with the hour change I suspect.

SolarEdge (SE) tech support sucks, beware. (long thread)

“Maximum self consumption” is the term the tech used. If you’ve got the inverter profile setup paperwork it’s one of the profile names. Hope that helps.

SolarEdge (SE) tech support sucks, beware. (long thread)

I eventually got SE to set a summer and a winter “maximum self consumption) profile. Theoretically (&hopefully) the winter profile ends at the end of this month. Winter profile: Oct 1st to March 31st the SE battery charges to 100% in the Octopus cheap rate period (12.30 - 04.30), battery then...

    MYLR all season tyres

Hi, no no noticeable difference in range, noticeably quieter and while not testing them to their limits, excellent grip in both the wet and dry. Certainly my first choice when I come to replace them. I’ve covered 13300 miles on them & expecting at least another 1300 before replacing them. I have...

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

Sorry guys I should have added a couple of battery charts. You can see I’m charging the EV and house battery in the screenshot where the battery goes to zero (it’s not really zero there’s a 10% invisible floor) The other screenshot is a typical day.

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

I’m not in the same ballpark as the OP with only 4.8kWh panels & a 9.7Wh battery which is located in a garage, so not quite the same as being outside. My charge/discharge rate is 3.68kW. I’m charging on Octopus go @7.5p starting at 02.00. When I’m also charging the EV (which also discharges the...

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

No I didn’t know it existed. Allegedly, SE are releasing a new myenergy app in the new year to enable users to set there own profiles. During one of the previous failures SE support asked me to reset the system, giving me a detailed description of the process. The reset worked for a couple of...

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

Update to my previous post. Contacted SolarEdge this morning to discover they had tried to update the battery bank firmware & it had crashed, although they hadn’t realised at the time, somewhat akin to tesla then. Shove it out & hope it works! So after about 35 minutes the system was up &...

“Interesting- how big was the day one percentage difference? Could it just have been the older inverter being on its last legs?” I hope not it was only 3 months old when it failed. Temporary replaced with a SolarEdge 3.680 kW model until the warranty replacement arrives.

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

Inverter threshold. Does anyone know whether smaller inverters are more efficient at low solar levels than larger ones. My 5kWh SolarEdge inverter failed a few weeks ago & my installer has fitted a 3.68kWh inverter temporary to keep me going since there is a unbelievably long wait for a 5k...

SolarEdge (SE) tech support sucks, beware. (long thread)

That sounds like a positive move from SE. I know not having the ability to set your own charge/discharge profiles & having to rely on your installer has put a number of potential customers off purchasing SolarEdge (SE). Incidentally, I’m still waiting for a warranty replacement inverter &...

SolarEdge (SE) tech support sucks, beware. (long thread)

Mine stopped working 5 minutes after tech support emailed to say they had just applied the correct summer & winter profiles, that was August 10th. The RMA was approved on the 13th & SE can’t give me any idea on delivery other than there’s none in the uk, it’s my installer saying 3 to 4 weeks. So...

Hi, I initially wanted a PW2 but the delivery time was late this year with no guarantee of meeting the delivery date, so I looked at alternatives. SolarEdge (SE) tech support sucks, beware. (long thread)

Absolutely, tech support tell you it’s the installers responsibility but my installer (who has been excellent) is tearing his hair out with enquiries, chasing non existent stock & doing site surveys. Realistically doesn’t have the time & doesn’t understand the system as well as tech support...

I totally agree with that sizer, I’m in the same boat. I’ve been trying for 2 months for SE to set my profiles correctly & now the inverter has failed after only 12 weeks operation. I’m in the middle of a 3-4 week wait for a replacement.

Hi, They are the two profiles I’ve been trying to get tech support to do, primarily because they should know the system better than any installer and my installer is in a state of disarray with enquiries, lack of stock & site surveys etc, so it made sense to me to get tech support to do the job...

As has been said above sometimes payments aren’t taken for up to 48 hours, if your card is registered & live then don’t worry payment will be taken in due course. I think the tacc issue is something different, so raise a service request if you’re still concerned.

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

You can easily get sucked in chasing the cheapest quote (pre site survey) which almost certainly will increase when a site survey has been done. In the meantime you’ve wasted several weeks which means a later delivery and possibly increased prices again due to demand.
