@randy206 I see you are catching up :) If you are there, could you update us on exactly what has been done? Yes, they are removing stuff, but what has been done so far exactly? Just pedestals removed? Cabinets? Conduit and wiring?

I stopped by; no signs of construction yet. The digging activity out on the street (two places) that I described previously seems to have wrapped up. I don't know if either was related to this or not. The surveyor flags along the street are still there.

The utility meters typically come after the site passes final inspection by the local authority, which obviously needs to get requested and then executed. So, probably a week max unless there's some unique backlog there.

FYI that other non-Tesla site (that I posted about in Nov 2023, above) finally started seeing construction a couple days ago, so hopefully soon there will be another option. It will compare poorly to this Tesla site in literally every way, but still, it'll be an option.

It's worth noting that NACS capability has been enabled for this site, so CCS users with approved adapters (only Ford, so far) can also use this site. In contrast, Franklin does not have NACS capabililty, yet.

I was passing through the area and stopped by here to check on it. I did not see any signs of construction. I also did not see any homeless people, but I did see a marauding band of seagulls roving the parking lot.

It's almost ready to go. Transformer is in place, and utility meter should be inside the metal box. Not energized yet. Asphalt is done including striping, but there's no signage and no numbering on the pedestals. NO Magic Dock hardware.

Aha, with those new pictures I can see that the transformer was there all along, just hard to see in the March 11th pictures. I see that pedestals will be on BOTH sides of the curbed landscape island / strip. Big site!

Good find! I'll be passing through that area exactly one month from now, so could detour over for a first look, but by then someone else will probably have beaten me to it :)

I got a local to check it :) He says there are 11 pedestals, which I know is an odd number but that's what he says. Transformer is visible at left. I've asked him to report on whether the meter is there, but that might be it poking out the right side of the transformer.

I have heard today that Tesla is in detail planning for a new supercharger site in Alexander City somewhere. Permit sleuths, start hunting.

Yes, there are quite a few Supercharging sites at Lowe's hardware stores. Lowes Foods is just a Carolinas thing. (OK, there's one in southern VA.)

From the Texas DLR filing above: Start Date: 4/21/2024 Completion Date: 5/24/2024 Estimated Cost: $122,000 (If that is Tesla's cost for the entire project, I am stunned. I believe that is a full order of magnitude lower than their competition can do. Maybe this will be a prefab site?)

We could use local reports. Is the utility transformer in yet? It'll be a big green or grey cube, not the white cabinets, which are Tesla's power conversion units.

I'm going to be driving I-20 through that region on March 30th. Normally I'd try to detour to this site (like I did last June) but this time it would be a 45 minute detour so, no, somebody else can go check it out :)
