According to a (poor) photo and checkin on Plugshare, work is well underway now.
Passed by a few days ago. Can confirm it appears that cabinets are in place.
A better photo appeared on Plugshare (along with the now usual pointless speculation about Tesla layoffs). From the photos, status is:
- utility transformer installed
- power conversion cabinets installed
- NO pedestals yet
That's odd but having the transformer is a great sign since that is usually what they are waiting for.

An email from Tesla to contractor's/vendors indicates they will at least be finishing sites under active construction, so this would should be okay (along with Florence and SE Bham).
