Alphabetical Search in Owner's Manual - Gone?

That's what I mean: WHAT search function? If I input for example, "Biodefense Weapon" nothing shows. But trying to look it up under the letter "B" I can no longer find an alphabetic look up option.

Alphabetical Search in Owner's Manual - Gone?

I used to be able to do an alphabetically search in the immense number of topics of the owner's manual. Now I have to wade through section after section to try to find what I am looking for. Has the alphabetical search been omitted? Or am I doing it wrong?

No more Alphabetical Access in Owner's Manual?

An alphabetical search mode used to be available in the Owner's manual section. How can find that mode of search now, rather than wade through sub-sections?

18" Aero wheels and Model Y load limits

Thanks, the linked posts addressed other aspects of different widths but not the issue I am most interested in: which 18" width has better grip on ice and snow.

18" Aero wheels and Model Y load limits

This brings up a question no one to date has been able to answer for me: all things equal, will the narrower 235 studded Hakkapeliittas bite into the ice and snow better than the 255 width?

    18” wheels on model Y

Thanks. The aspect ratio was hard to see. So, unlike previous posts who think an 8.5 is too wide (i.e. not ideal) for that tire size, you found no noticeable disadvantage?

    Tires are what size?

    18” wheels on model Y

I am trying to find even one set of 18x8 rims anywhere for a 235/55R18 or 245/50-18 tire, but cannot find one. Will the 8.5 width work?

Solved: Road Noise & Front Wind Noise

Thank you. I still have a bit of wind noise coming from a gap at the upper rear edge of the glass next to the B-pillar. I am thinking of buffering the existing molding from behind, for greater pressure against the glass. I am unsure whether there is access behind the upper B-pillar plastic panel.

Thanks. I wish there was a photo from a bit more of a distance, to better understand the general area.

Solved: Road Noise & Front Wind Noise

"#1 - The solution for wind noise is the following - Z Weatherstrip down inside the leading edge of the front door, I cannot see from your photo whether the Z weatherstrip is glued to the frame or the door. Please clarify.

Two Suggestions for Improvement on model 3

    1. Design a protective cover/deflector for the backup camera. When it rains, the rear view is a joke. 2. Reduce the opening gap for the windows when opening/closing the doors. When it rains, the interior gets wet. Porsche uses a 1/4" gap which is sufficient for cabin pressure equalization.

    Wheel Locks, Redux

putting extra locks on (2-5 per wheel) would be another good deterrent, moreso if they are different styles Really? If I have to triple and quadruple lock every wheel with locks from several different manufacturers to prevent theft, I would think the whole idea is an abject failure.
  16. C

    Wheel Locks, Redux

See if you can find some that have a spinning collar that makes "pound on the 12pt socket" method of removal harder. You have a brand in mind? Advanced Wheel Locks look interesting but do not have the right depth to work with Tesla studs.
  17. C

    Wheel Locks, Redux

You may be a moderator, but your answer is above my pay grade, sorry. Let me try it a different way: will installing wheel locks make a significant difference in deterring wheel theft or not? (Now please don't try to parse "significant".) If so, is there a type that does it better than others?
  18. C

    Wheel Locks, Redux

Sifting through threads on the subject, it seems to come down to two philosophies: 1. Wheel locks are useless, they just slow down any wheel thief by a few minutes 2. They are a great deterrent that will stop anyone but seasoned professionals I am searching for the definitive answer to...

19" or 20" - which ones handle better?

Thanks for asking a clarifying question. From a forged wheel I want: 1. less unsprung weight 2. less propensity for wheel bends 3. same or better handling 4. no reduction in range (hence same wheel/tire size as stock) Ride quality is not an issue. I would be concerned if thicker sidewalls...

19" or 20" - which ones handle better?

I am about to buy the forged lightweight Unplugged UP-03 for my 2021 M3P and am starting to wonder which of the two sizes, all else being equal, will give me the better, quicker, more agile handling? (I'd like to stickjwith 235s, and also I am aware and used to the rougher ride with 20" from my...

    True Forged 20" wheels?

Good point. The brand-new Summer version of the Hankook Evo, which is available in the stock-Tesla 20" size (20/235/35) makes the choice easy: #116

Review: Hankook iON evo AS vs Pirelli AS+ Elect vs Michelin PS 4S vs Michelin PS AS 4

Yes, I just odered the summer version from Discount Tires: 20/235/35 (stock M3P) = $1500 including mounting, balancing and hazard warranty: https://www.hankooktire.com/us/en/tire/ion/evo.html

    True Forged 20" wheels?

if you want fully forged and have money to burn, go for it. But the cost/benefit ratio isn't what it used to be Can you point me to any tests that support your opinion?
  25. C

    True Forged 20" wheels?

And sticking with forged in 20x9? That's a weird place to spend $$$ on performance when you don't even want to go to a wider tire. My thinking: I do not want to sacrifice range, which is shitty enough on the M3P, but stick to low-noise foam-lined Michelin, Pirelli, etc. tires. That's weird...

    True Forged 20" wheels?

Wheel discussions can be overwhelming. Too many threads, too little time, and no easy search terms leading me to what I want: A true forged (not flow formed) M3P wheel, size: 20x9, +35mm ET. (Not interested in changing the stock wheel geometry of the car). I am just after significant weight...

Also did some deeper dive into the Hankook summer tire equivalent to the Ion EVO AS, the Ventus iON S, but at this point it does not look like it's been tested against other brands in Europe or Asia, let alone being available for purchase in the U.S..

How to Delete Favorite FM Stations?

2023 Model Y Long Range Disappointment in boominess after Demo Drive

P.S.: I just realize that question 1 is moot: not only does what I describe seem to be a common problem that has already been discussed over seven pages here, but, l funnily enough, the subject line of the thread I had created last night in the "interior and exterior" sub forum (which was...

2023 Model Y Long Range Disappointment in boominess after Demo Drive

The slightest road unevenness triggers a low-level, low frequency drone inside the cabin in our brand new MY LR (19"wheels). That drone increases on deteriorated road surfaces. It is not present in our M3P. My guess: this drone (around 100Hz) is caused by a combination of lack of mechanical...

Where Can I find the right push pin?

I am having a hard time finding the right size push pin fastener online from aftermarket vendors. There are four pin fasteners holding the footwell cover that is below the glove-box. (Tesla conveniently forgot to install two of them in my then-new 2021 M3P). Could anyone point me to a source?

    245/35/20 with Tesla Spec?

The Tesla manual for my M3P (Model 3 Owner's Manual | Tesla) states an alternative tire size for 20" rims: 20" Front/Rear 245/35ZR20 Does that mean there is a Telsa-spec rated (i.e. quiet) tire available in that size? And, if so what brands?

Model 3 Tires, Tire Sizes, Types, make / model recommendations, tire discussions, etc

My aims: 1. Keep it quiet. My ears are hyper-sensitive to road noise 2. Don't introduce dimensional hiccups (computer not recognizing or adjusting to odd size circumferences) 3. This should actually be Number 1: stop curb rashes. Uberturbines and 235/35/20s are a joke! 4. Adding a little more...

M3P: Which Tires wear faster- Front of Rear?

I still have a decent amount of thread left on the summer Pirellis that came with the car when new.
