No... I haven't circled back to it yet. I think a summer (warm garage!) project will be to pull the whole frunk out and make sure my ground connections are solid. Those seem to be problematic and I had a local friend whose car threw a crap ton of errors when one disconnected-- but still...

Should I reject Model X delivery? Can all these even be fixed?

If buyers keep accepting crap, then crap will be all they build. REJECT!!

So much better stopping here than Girard! I hope I never see Girard again. Made the Kent State move-in run yesterday and it was great to snatch a quick charge en route versus the long detour/charge in Girard. Now if Ohio could just do away with those STUPID gate arms at the toll plazas...

    TPMS compatibility

None that I can personally vouch for -- I had a few on Amazon that I was eyeballing but my local tire shop had a set that was cheaper, so I purchased through them with the tires. I'm not sure what they are, but they're generic and works fine with some minor limitations -- as explained at about...

    TPMS compatibility

Installl aftermarket Baolong-compatible TPMS sensors. That's the only non-Tesla way to eliminate the nag at lower cost.
  7. Newscutter

    TPMS compatibility

MCU upgrade has nothing to do with the TPMS sensors/system. I have upgraded MCU 2 on my 2014 and it works fine with the original Baolong TPMS (the one with no PSI display). The later Continental TPMS system displays individual tire pressures and was retrofit (RATHER DUBIOUSLY) to many early...

    Handle problem, hard to diagnose

My handle repairs have been centered around moisture ingress/corrosion to the controller ON the door handle. The damage can be hard to see, but is usually tell tale and they're poorly protected. I did a video of last one, maybe that helps you:

Not a paid gig, so don't much care if you watch it or not. If it helps someone great, but beyond that I have no other goals with these anymore. But since we're going to be critical about free content, you should have written: "I'm not sure WHERE YOU'RE going with this?"

    A/C Evaporator Drain Location

Here's my variation on yinz guys have done. I'm thinking I may go back and cut the original tube on the vertical drop and put the junction to the new hose there, to further minimize any chance of pooling/leaking at the current splice... though I think it's really unlikely as the tubes are very...

UGH.... sorry. It was a bookmark I'd used frequently when service mode was first enabled. I was unaware that it had been compromised.

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

Also was not notified. Dropped from 255 to 210. S85 2014. The wiki page from wk057 has my pack iteration specifically listed as well, so... I guess I'll hold out for the next settlement or something. Lawyers gonna lawyer-- those bus stop ads don't pay for themselves!

Supercharger - New Springfield, OH - Mahoning Valley & Glacier Hills Service Plazas

FWIW on my 70mph drive by this week, it looks like the Eastbound side is mostly complete (pedastals are up) but the Westbound side is just dirt. These are not being rebuilt in tandem (it seems).

Supercharger - New Springfield, OH - Mahoning Valley & Glacier Hills Service Plazas

Tesla/Elon software boned my vintage S85 so that anything over 150 miles is a chore. Going from Pittsburgh to Kent there are no Superchargers en route, so I have to make it from here to Kent and then backtrack to Girard with the charge on board... easy enough, but having the turnpike ones would...

Supercharger - New Springfield, OH - Mahoning Valley & Glacier Hills Service Plazas

Coilover suspension upgrade on non-air ride TMS

I see the custom spring rate options are available -- did you pass the stock rate on to Scales? If so, I'll be very interested to see what they are like. I made it through my state inspection last week with no issues on the stock struts, but I feel like every year at this point is a hope and...

OOF.. Gonna be tight for me! Kent State move out is about a month from now, but Eastbound is the side I need so glad it sounds like they're doing it first. After move out I don't anticipate heading that direction until late August, so at least there's a good chance I never see Girard again...

    Control Arm Safety Issue

I guess Honda owners were more inclined to file NHTSA complaints than stock-owning Musk fans. I've seen so many shady things get shrugged off by my fellow owners... I love the car but I don't understand the blind goodwill.

    Control Arm Safety Issue

And yet, Honda recalled 2006 CRVs last week because of suspension failures -- so, companies that value customer loyalty will recall dangerous components when non-famous, non-rich and non-Twitter-verified normal people own them. The apathy Tesla seems to have to their early owners is why so...

    TPMS issue - 2012 set-up

I've purchased two different sets of aftermarket sensors and never had to involve Tesla for them to learn. It's always worked right off the reset button. I don't have an alternative suggestion-- just relating my experience.

Failed Rear Lower Control Arm / Service Bulletin SB-19-31-001

Another local owner I know just had his fail. We'll see if the service center changes their tune as his is ALSO outside the TSB production dates but shares the same failed part. I also urged him to make a safety complaint report to NHTSA. Meanwhile -- I ran across this, which was filed in...

Looks like the far cabinet is leaning/settling and the near cabinet has a nice dent in it. So... was the construction company a mob front or something?? This disarray and abandoned in place forms looks like a check bounced or a contractor did. Either way, a disgraceful look for Tesla and...

Failed Rear Lower Control Arm / Service Bulletin SB-19-31-001

Yeah, it bothers me. I guess I'm old fashioned in that ASKING doesn't seem like a big deal when theft is the alternative. The worker is due their wages or at least a freaking courtesy if they can't extend the actual courtesy of asking. But I don't do this stuff for the community to get money...

Failed Rear Lower Control Arm / Service Bulletin SB-19-31-001

Interestingly, I didn't find any instructions but I DID find that they stole my intellectual property-- a picture from a blog post in 2014-- cropped my attribution and altered it. I wonder if I could get them to cover my parts costs in lieu of a slam dunk plagerism lawsuit? At the very least...

Supercharger - New Springfield, OH - Mahoning Valley & Glacier Hills Service Plazas

Drove through the westbound side and spotted the eastbound side from there -- both sides still fenced off and mini-dozers/landscape machines are inside the fences... so, not gonna be this week.

Supercharger - New Springfield, OH - Mahoning Valley & Glacier Hills Service Plazas

Bump to see if any locals/passers-by have updates? I'm en route tomorrow for Kent State Fall Break kid pickup and will check otherwise, but it would be handy to know if active yet (either direction).

Failed Rear Lower Control Arm / Service Bulletin SB-19-31-001

Add to the broken list. I'll do the NHTSA report once I get a good look at the old one. So it's very doable DIY... But I think I'm gonna have to get new tools (not necessarily a bad thing?) It looks like to access the front, inboard nut I need a flex head ratchet wrench? There's very very...

Replace rear lower control arm with spindle/hub in place?

Hmm. So to access the front, inboard nut I guess I need a flex head ratchet wrench? There's very very little access.
  35. Newscutter

Replace rear lower control arm with spindle/hub in place?

Good to know -- yeah, for right now just getting back on the road is priority #1. My wife recently shattered both wrists, so I "fortunately" have her car to use during this... but also have ridiculous inbound bills/absent income so getting just back to normal is all I'm after. I haven't...
  36. Newscutter

Replace rear lower control arm with spindle/hub in place?

It seems very strange though. Even my non-sporty lightweight Subaru truck has a rear sway bar/ links.
  37. Newscutter

Replace rear lower control arm with spindle/hub in place?

Okay that makes me feel somewhat less enraged. Going by the service manual it seems like supposed to be there. I'm still waiting on my service contact to confirm that, but at least if he does -- I'll have your vouch that he's being honest about it. My mind was really going on a "do I...
  38. Newscutter

Replace rear lower control arm with spindle/hub in place?

Thanks -- that is what I figured. Confirmed yesterday that I have a broken rear lower control arm, totally fractured and missing end. What I also noticed, while walking through the repair mentally using service manual (still no parts in hand) is that neither side has drop links from the sway...

Replace rear lower control arm with spindle/hub in place?

Might have to do this soon -- coil suspension. Is there enough room to get under there with tools to torque when it's on the ground?? I'm not a big guy but it seems like it'd be hard to access anything without a lift. I have some old ramps, but they're way too steep to get the Tesla on.

    Rear Coil Spring Suspension

I have not yet (I think? I hope?) reached replacement necessity -- but I have a couple options in mind that may be of help to you. If you decide to go either of these routes, please update! I would think any shop could replace (or DIY) the coil suspension as they're pretty simple...

    Tesla model S battery Failed

Dammit for a second there I thought my beekeeping expertise would be relevant.... but I think it's autocorrect. Well, for the record, I will probably have some extra queens w/bees available next month if you're still interested. Just trying to do my part. Good luck with the battery too!

Tesla Service forgot to reconnect Hazard Lights and Glove Box

DAMMIT. I am hoping this is something they can reconnect just by removing the side panel. I went in for LTE upgrade / SD card swap / eMMC recall a few months ago and they broke the MCU while doing that, so I was upgraded to MCU2 for free. All wasn't great though, because they returned the car...

Terrible experience with Tesla Service in Devon, PA

Truly astounding and annoying. I'm willing to help, if you do the legwork and cover costs. I'm about a mile from the Wexford PA Service Center-- near Pittsburgh. You get the part ordered here for pickup-- paid for-- and I'll pick it up, pack it in whatever box necessary and forward to you...

Suspension Problem on Model S # ? - my story

Tesla's MO has always been to obfuscate, deny and ignore-- even when the damage to their reputation and customer goodwill is greater than the costs of making things right. You need only consider the debacle of how they handled the MCU eMMC chip failures for proof. Your best bet might be to get...

Suspension Problem on Model S # ? - my story

If you search that bulletin number on the NHTSA website you'll see the affected dates are from 2013 to January 2014. OP's pic shows a P85D badge, which puts it a minimum of 9 months outside the range. You can try to appeal, but I recently had a steering linkage denied because my car was barely...

I can't reset the TPMS error message on my Model S

Recently bought generic (much cheaper) TPMS sensors and after a little trial and error discovered something: The newer versions of the systems read ACTUAL PSI and display location/numerical readings, but ye olde cars like mine (Baolong) are the "dumb" system and apparently when the PSI is...

    Model S Boot Size

Never did find a good version of dimensions like these (abundantly available for my Subarus though) -- So I made a set for my own reference and ease at making sure what I have at the hardware store checkout will fit in my actual car.
