Ethernet with SolarEdge Inverters + Powerwalls + Gateway v2

Actually, this is maybe something else -- I see my SolarEdge data got wonky and eventually stopped entirely at a point when Tesla replaced a failed inverter a little while ago. So that might be unrelated, but then I'm still not sure why I'm getting the notices from Tesla that my system stopped...

Ethernet with SolarEdge Inverters + Powerwalls + Gateway v2

I've got an install with 2 SolarEdge inverters (no-LCD, SetApp), 3 Powerwalls, and a TEG v2. I also have the little black box that Tesla asked me to connect to ethernet, and a SolarEdge installer account. Everything was generally working OK, but I kept losing connectivity via WiFi; bad...

    Understanding PGE/SVCE electricity bills/TrueUP

As expected, super confused by the black annual true-up bill. We have a CCA that does monthly true-up on generation. Our PG&E true-up is $2867, with major components and some questions: $ 518 comp type: TRANS $1295 DIST What does PG&E bill distribution/transmission on? Purely on energy...

Wiki Model X Order/Delivery Tracking - Google Sheet

Ordered in December 2020. 5-door. Just took delivery today. In-app times have jumped all over the place; beginning of the year it shifted by a month every month starting in January, until March when it jumped to July. Then suddenly I had a VIN assigned and it jumped to week of Mar 14-18...

    Are these operating modes possible?

Have you tried “Self Powered”? This is what our system behaves like. As generation kicks in in the morning, it starts feeding the house (with batteries supplying remainder). Once solar can take over fully, any remainder goes to batteries. Eventually batteries charge to full, and solar feeds...

    Inverter sizing -- 2 x 6kW on 16.32 kW solar?

Actually pulling the proper data for today for the two inverters, graph attached. The right side of the graph doesn't have full data (it's still sunny :), hence the sharp falloff. Each inverter is clipping for 3.5 hrs on sunny days. But by how much is going to be hard to tell -- I can...

    Inverter sizing -- 2 x 6kW on 16.32 kW solar?

Gah, I completely misread that diagram. Will repost updated numbers once I have a better graph.

    Inverter sizing -- 2 x 6kW on 16.32 kW solar?

Ugh. Finally got proper access. The clipping is actually even worse than I expected. It's not even 11am and here's the input DC power to our two inverters -- and each one able to put out a max of 6kW AC. Actual AC production is currently 11.5 kW, when right now with 7.6kW inverters it would...

    Inverter sizing -- 2 x 6kW on 16.32 kW solar?

The fun never stops with Tesla Energy. We finally got everything installed and got PTO, and I noticed that our production always caps out at a suspiciously exact 12.5 kW. I expected Tesla to install two 7.6 kW inverters (for a 7% undersize) or at least a 6+7.6. Instead we have two 6 kW...

    Tesla AC Powerwall *2.1* installed?

Interesting! Do you have a link for some of those other forums? I’m still fighting with Tesla (is it fighting if only one side is doing anything?) and trying to figure out what’s up.

    Tesla AC Powerwall *2.1* installed?

February 2021 :) How do I find out the production date?

5 battery install Lake of the Pines

The "single line diagram" of the electrical layout (or probably three line diagram in any plans you might have). Though I now realize that the SLD is likely PG&E specific only and might not be in the plans. Arg. I really wish Tesla didn't make it impossible to actually talk to someone.

5 battery install Lake of the Pines

The back grille (not the side with the power switch), there's a little tab at the bottom that you pull to access -- though actually, the more important part for me is what's written on the SLD if you have it. If not, don't worry about it :) I'm just excited to start taking advantage of all the...

5 battery install Lake of the Pines

@h2ofun Hey, you've got a system installed at roughly the same time as us (you're actually just a little distance away from me in Auburn, we're down off Dry Creek Road) -- could you check your powerwall TPN/model number on the physical unit, and see whether it matches the model number on the SLD...

PG&E PTO Tesla fumbling the ball multiple times

Out of curiosity, I just created an account on PG&E's portal and went through the process of filling out a NEM application. It looks like the fault isn't 100% with Tesla in my case -- PG&E's online application system literally knows nothing about any of the recent Powerwalls. So unless someone...

5 battery install Lake of the Pines

Tesla sent me that same form to sign on 4/5 (after signing a previous NEM form beginning of March) with 3 batteries. I didn't prod them for this, they just did it on their own. They have yet to actually correct the incorrect bits on the application, though; they may have done a blanket send...

PG&E PTO Tesla fumbling the ball multiple times

For the record I am now in this exact same boat. PG&E has actually been the most helpful in this. In the latest call with PG&E, they suggested that I just provide the information that they're requesting if I'm able to; I thought I could, except in trying to do so I discovered a discrepancy...

    Tesla AC Powerwall *2.1* installed?

We had a 16kw solar + 3 powerwall install completed last February; Tesla submitted the PG&E interconnect application at the beginning of March, but has not replied to a request from PG&E to confirm some problems. They basically omitted things like the AC disconnect from the application, even...
