    Model 3’s available Nov/Dec

People had ordered cars and cancelled. This need to go somewhere. Normally would have gone to other people who ordered the same configuration, but since that is on pause, they need to offload them this way I guess. Not a bad option for people who would not qualify for new federal rebates maybe...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

I have a similar window with no movement. NJ White/black int/Aero wheels Ordered: 11/20 EDD: Jan 18 - Feb 15 - been stuck at this since the day after I ordered without any changes.

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

I was waiting for this rebate to play out. I ended up getting a new job with a car allowance and a gas card. Picked up a 330i xdrive through a lease broker on a great deal. I am excited to see the EV options in 36 months though.

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Nice, so you can make some changes then without penalty, but do it ASAP in case there are any more increases. When we were considering the Y, I liked it in grey with the upgraded wheels. You could keep the stock wheels and paint them or sell them and upgrade the wheels aftermarket for much less...

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

I am pretty sure they got hit with one or two increases as well since April, keeping the same price gap to the 3. But either way, it's a warning to anyone new on here, that modifying your order can change your pricing, so always proceed with caution if you aren't someone monitoring price changes...

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

just remember modifying your order could raise your base price depending on when you ordered. I ordered on 4/1, so there has been two $500 increases on the model 3 since then. So any change I would want to make basically costs an extra $1k now.

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

I went with a model 3 and am sticking to the 18" wheel for a bit taller sidewall. If I did a model Y, I would want the 20" wheels for the aesthetics, but imagine that could get pretty scary with some of the potholes we have. Going low profile on these heavy cars, our bad roads, and no spare tire...

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Yes, if you can't make this delivery window work, you usually just get bumped back into line. It's ideal to drive that communication earlier on before getting a vin/delivery scheduled. Try to get in touch with someone and tell them that timing doesn't work for you and you would like to put the...

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

congrats. yea, just sit tight with the rest of us. An extra 8 weeks to save $5k is worthwhile if that's how it needs to happen. Hopefully our preorders can help us protect the price and/or get us deliveries sooner than waiting to order until July. Just don't fill out financing info to avoid any...

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

My rep had originally put my order on hold until 5/1 as a placeholder. It now looks like she must've reviewed who she had coming off of hold and now set me to come off hold on 7/1. I will post back if I get any more information, but this looks promising that perhaps we may not need to...

Considering a Model 3 in NJ

The second part. Services and property and taxes, etc are more expensive in the northeast in general. But it’s similar to other parts of the country and world for that matter. I just feel like there is so many willing customers here, that the businesses don’t have to compete too deeply on prices...

truth. My buddy just took a promotion with the same net pay as he was relocating to a cheaper area.

Considering a Model 3 in NJ

Nice. This is what I was thinking as well. Use it and enjoy. The first few dings will be tough on the heart, but then it will be ok for me. Same as anything new I get like a watch, phone, shoes, etc.

Considering a Model 3 in NJ

Yea, I used to be obsessed with keeping the cars spotless on the front end. But now I don't mind seeing a car that shows signs of being used and enjoyed with some badges of honor. Perhaps its from all the motosports I watch now. Its a tough decision for me. Paying for film that might get dinged...

Considering a Model 3 in NJ

It technically does include all you need for common situations, and it is “competitive” to what the other brands offer. Plus Tesla offers their supercharging network as well. The add-ons are more to optimize your home charging based on whatever higher amp outlet you may have access to or be...

Considering a Model 3 in NJ

I actually chatted with Tesla yesterday to confirm that the 14-50 is no longer included. It comes and goes out of stock on the site, so just set an email alert if needed.

Considering a Model 3 in NJ

Thanks for clarifying on the storage. I agree on your point about the charging. If there is a 120v outlet around, it might be worthwhile to get a second mobile connector so you can leave one at home and keep one in the car. I am very much looking forward to the full tank every morning. Nothing...

Considering a Model 3 in NJ

storage - correct, you need to provide the storage (disregard my "Extra"). Do some research on the drives needed, I see many recommendations to get 500gb drive or larger as the sentry recordings fill up a small drive quickly. I do not have my car yet though, and this is one of the topics I...

Considering a Model 3 in NJ

A lot of it is up to you. Here are some popular ones and a few from my list: a regular USB drive for extra storage for sentry mode. paint protection film if you can’t live with rock chips. window tints if you want. Screen protector. Pedal covers. tire repair - inflator and slime stuff, or...

Considering a Model 3 in NJ

Yes the heat pump addition is great in my opinion. These cars aren’t exactly cheap, so the addition of the heat pump should make it easier to be used more luxuriously. Leaving the office on a cold day, not as concerned about preheating up the cabin temp knowing less range impact. But yea in the...

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Yes, it literally states the amount throughout the page and in the FAQ’s. I suppose they could change it, but they aligned to the $5K plan internally and there hasn’t been any mention of that changing. Look at solar in NJ as an example of making a change. First they had SREC, now TREC, and there...

Elon tweets: Solar Roof and solar panels will only be sold integrated with Powerwall

If the site lets you order it, then why not give it a shot? It is a $100 refundable deposit. You don't have much to lose. I would get an order in asap if I was remotely interested in a system without PW. Worst case is they don't honor it and they refund your $100.

Yes, I see the same thing. Just don't select the powerwalls or click the X

How many are waiting to order or postponing the delivery date due to proposed Tax Credit

absolutely. you could be price protected and save maybe a couple grand. Could also help you avoid a super long delay from a surge of orders later on. There is a chance it would only be for orders after a certain date, in which case you lose $100. $100 risk for some potential reward. I did the...

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

I am also waiting until these details are confirmed to ensure I can take advantage of it. I am flexible on what charger I get if it means I can get $500 back. And I certainly don’t need it before July so I will sit tight.

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

I highly doubt it would as the program is just a continuation from last year with a different payment process. Here are some concerns I would have trying to implement it for used vehicles: 1. Abuse of the program. If I buy a car and get a rebate, can I sell it to my family member and they get a...

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

I also think that rule is there to help prevent malicious fraud. If you relocate for a job in a year or two, they technically could come after you based on these rules, but I would imagine they would be targeting people abusing the system more intentionally. With that said, I would treat it like...

Considering a Model 3 in NJ

I just put some floor mats and charging adapter in my cart with my NJ address. It did add tax. Perhaps if you buy it in person they tax it differently, but that shouldn’t be right, and was most likely a misinformed advisor.

Elon tweets: Solar Roof and solar panels will only be sold integrated with Powerwall

i submitted an order this morning and just got my design plan. so no, you could still order. It is a $100 refundable deposit...so might as well if interested.

Elon tweets: Solar Roof and solar panels will only be sold integrated with Powerwall

being in NJ with net metering, i just placed my solar order. We never lose power and have battery back up sump pump and a generator just in case. I can't justify paying for the powerwall here, but do see the value it offers in many other scenarios. Figure i will get their plan in the next few...

New 5 Year / 0.99% Solar Panel Financing Option

No it shouldn’t. Similar to how you can buy a Tesla car on a loan and still get the tax credit. and actually with the loan, they clarify in the monthly payment wording that the lower payment is based on you putting that rebate back into your loan as a lump payment by month 18.

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Congrats. The most recent tweak was adding interior accent color to the door panels. But a few months back, there was a slew of adds. The addition of the heat pump will be one of the biggest one for you and any of us in areas with cold weather. Should get you better range in the cold.

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

I enjoyed the jigsaw part. I have some deep 8ft wide DIY 2x4 shelves on the back wall of the garage that may need to get some jigsaw treatment as well so the car can pull in far enough comfortably.

Good deal on a 2020 LR AWD or stick to a new 2021 SR+?

Looks like you are in NJ. The $5K rebate will be back in NJ in July. That would either enable you to lower the price on SR or possibly get a brand new LR at same price as the used one. Not sure if you are flexible on timing. but between your two options listed, maybe just go with the SR that is...

New 5 Year / 0.99% Solar Panel Financing Option

Very true. My local solar companies try to bake it all in and not show it too clearly. A $19k system quickly had a new purchase price of $21k-$24k at different rates/lengths. Basically just buying points up front.

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

I don't think they would go out of their way to be excluded, but I would imagine the recent $500 increases are to help offset rising costs. I wouldn't be surprised to see more increases trickle in to cover "rising costs" that also gives profit cushion that will be easier for consumers to swallow...

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

sent you my code. I agree to these points. I figured it might be a $100 price protection gamble. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to lower the MSRP cap further to allocate more funds for more affordable models and lower income shoppers to help drive EV conversion (NJ program and/or the...

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Yes, I think this is why my service advisor also said to not select a payment choice yet, but I’m not sure. She’s clear on what we are trying to do, so I am trying to have some faith and trust they know how to handle.

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

i would imagine if you ordered today or early May your car is going to probably be produced in the same window of time and your delivery day would be similar either way. You might risk losing $100 if you find out that the order would need to be placed again after July 1 (I am in this boat as I...

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Agreed and some good ideas here. My service advisor put my order on hold to May 1 for now. She made it sound like they were hoping to have details by then. I am sure they are going to want to push through the orders as soon as possible, versus dealing with an abnormally pressed Q3 and maybe Q4...

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

The looks are certainly an opinion either way, personally not a fan of crossover look of the Mach E or the MY. Be cautious that they aren’t just marking up the car $5k and giving you a made up rebate. Not sure how they would offer you the rebate if the state hasn’t rolled it out to any other...

New 5 Year / 0.99% Solar Panel Financing Option

Nice, I had not seen that option. I had placed a deposit a few months ago, but need to wait until I have my model 3 delivered in order to get a larger system approved by utility company. When I saw my plan, it showed a loan option for a smaller 17 panel $7k system. My service advisor said that...

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

I had met my service advisor at my test drive. Then I just placed an order by myself a few months later. Then I texted her letting her know I ordered and she ended up as my advisor as my info from test drive was probably tied to her in their system. You will get assigned one eventually.

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

Don’t know the full details of your timing situation...but even a monthlong rental if needed would still put you well ahead versus missing the rebate. I like your other points, and also hope my current order could work. My advisor put it on hold until May for now.
  49. M

Charge-Up NJ rebate program Phase 2

My service advisor reached out and said they do not have confirmation either, but are expecting vehicles ordered before the NJ program launches will not count. She said we may need to cancel and reorder in order to qualify depending on how it officially rolls out from the state. She said she...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Ok thanks for that info. Aug/Sept works for me if it means I can collect the $5K rebate coming back to NJ in July (details still unknown though). Only real question is on the financing piece. It wants me to select how much down, the term, etc...Will I be able to edit that all easily later or do...
