    Model 3 LR RWD

I had my heart set on a Model 3 LR RWD and reading around on here and YouTube ect it seems many other Australians did too. For me this is a deal breaker, I live in the NW of WA and I need the range but don’t have the budget for a AWD Performance. How does everyone else feel about this? After...

Lowest price Model S yet in Oz? MY2016 60D for $67K

I had also contacted this seller, pretty disappointing that he is selling a car and failing to tell potential buyers of the cars true history. So glad I walked away. If you read his other thread Pano roof brackets broken! Tesla won't repair due to salvage vehicle he’s also misleading in that...

Australian Model 3 Single Phase 32A Charging Possible

Hi, I’m looking to buy a Model 3 in Australia and I’m investigating charging options. I’m in a rental with only single phase power. I have access to a three pin 32A 240V outlet. Will the Tesla Mobile Charger (UMC) be able to utilise 32A with this? F22D73AD-E29A-40EF-8D06-9A29BBD07C26 by cashie...

Spare wheel options with current Model S

Ive read the threads on spares but I’m a little confused with frunk sizes etc. what’s the current best bet for a spare for a current Model S (single motor)? I’m guessing nothing will fit in the current size frunk? What’s the best bet to get something that will clear the front brakes and where...

    used Model S 85 for $85,000

I received an alert from Carsales yesterday, 12 months ago I set up an auto alert to notify me when any Tesla came up under $90k.... this is the first I've seen. I was tempted.

No dash gauges and air vents.... :-(

With the recent news from Elon that a HUD is not likely, and that all but confirming the centre screen will be the only display for speed, energy etc has got me rethinking my reservation. Am I the only one that feels this could be a deal breaker for their purchase of the Model 3? One of the...

    Is the Tesla warranty substandard?

Am I the only one who is totally disappointed in the Tesla Australian 4 year 80,000kms warranty? When many makers are offering 100,000km warranties, and many more moving to unlimited kms, I'm feeling Tesla's warranty should be better. I know the battery and drivetrain warranty is very good, but...

Info and Hints from Elon Tweets

I just think most of us know that Part 2 of the reveal will occur soon enough and anything could change. No point flogging a dead horse until then.

Does anyone recognise this headlight plug?

The consensus is they are LED headlights and cornering lights. Those OSRAM bulbs sound like a great improvement and the ones to go for.
  31. cashie

Does anyone recognise this headlight plug?

Not a Tesla design, just a standard D3S HID lamp (in our case derated to 25W).

    Mobile charging for Australia

He means due to the two inputs being wired in parallel that without a relay or similar the second plug would be live once the first was connected. I think the idea sounds likely to be dangerous and I'd be very surprised if it met the wiring rules in Australia. (Two discrete supplies are not...

    Supercharger - Port Macquarie NSW

It might well be, just seems a strange model for the location/s of these SCs. I understand that the ones in EU and the US are generally placed near something. I also understand that Tesla are limited on where they can put them, ie cost, power and available land etc.
  36. cashie

    Supercharger - Port Macquarie NSW

That's fine for me, the wife of course might not feel the same.. Double stopping would be the only option if you needed a toilet and a feed/drink, it is a bit of a catch 22 with these locations, do you put it near something that is 24 hour, most likely a fast food joint or servo, or don't you...

    Supercharger - Port Macquarie NSW

Is anyone else a bit concerned about the isolated location of some of the current Australian superchargers? This one at Cassegrain (and the soon to be built Ewingsdale) appears to be out the back of nowhere... I thought Tesla's intention was to place them near existing services like service...

    2016 Model S Refresh Mega-thread

Surely the above puts "Plate-gate" to bed. Also, pretty clear from the below photo the holder is a separate piece to the front bumper. Just make sure you remove it straight away so it doesn't rub on the paint.

    Can you retrofit LED headlights?

They are derated due to the lumen output (and the associated glare), not heat. They need to be under 2000 lumens. There's a requirement in most countries around the world for self levelling and washers on lights with greater than 2000 lumen low beams (except obviously US and CA).

    Repairing a Flooded Tesla Model S : HOW-TO

Sorry, I must have missed that bit, yes, you've made excellent progress. My hats off to you, this is an awesome project. By the time you recoup some cash on left over parts etc this should be a very cheap Tesla.

    Repairing a Flooded Tesla Model S : HOW-TO
