Latest FSD Beta update is a step backwards

I have a 2020 Model X and was an FSD Beta "test driver" for several months. I downloaded the latest FSD Beta update - presumably the one that serves as the "recall" required by NHTSA - two weeks ago. Since then, my car continues to make the same mistakes it was making under the previous...

No visible improvement in last two FSD BETA updates on my Model X

Since receiving 10.16.3 and then 10.69.3.1, my 2020 Model X continues to make the same mistakes it made with the earlier version: occasional non-sensical lane change attempts; failure to get into correct lane for a turn, or making the move much too late; very occasional attempt to turn in front...

    Tesla S 2022 FSD- Beta 2022.20.17 — 22 September 2022

Great summary, pretty much mirrors my experience. Concur the turns are smoother and decisions more confident, sometimes even a little bolder than I would make but still safe. The only thing I would add: biggest problem I've had with 10.69.2.3 is unwise/unnecessary lane changes (ULCs), often...

FSD Beta 10.69.2.3 Assessment After Two Weeks

I;ve had the same experience. Also when exiting the highway, the turn signal doesn't come on until you're in the exit lane. Still getting occasional spurious turn signals too, as in earlier versions. I can just see the other drivers chuckling - this guy has no clue what he wants to do!

FSD Beta 10.69.2.3 Assessment After Two Weeks

Haven't seen that message. I wonder how the Autopilot can detect emergency vehicles, since it doesn't appear to recognize flashing lights on vehicles.

FSD Beta 10.69.2.3 Assessment After Two Weeks

I find 10.6.9.2.3 significantly improved over earlier versions. So far this week the car has made a safe and effective decision in 49 of 51 test cases (turning at an intersection with traffic and no light). One case was a failure to yield to traffic in a circle; the other was failure to yield...

    FSD Beta 10.13/10.69

Has anyone received FSD Beta 10:13 (I understand it has been newly renamed to 10.69)?

Only one forward facing camera on 2020 Model X?

Thanks you, Nosken. I found my three front cameras. They're really hard to see, and there's something that resembles a camera (moisture sensor) nearly that's much more visible. Appreciate your helpful response.

Only one forward facing camera on 2020 Model X?

I have the side cameras, the fender cameras, and the rear camera - 5 altogether. Here's a photo of the front camera.

Only one forward facing camera on 2020 Model X?

I can only see one camera above the mirror, definitely not three in a tight row as depicted in the manual.

Just got FSD Beta 10.12. Performance more than disappointing.

Yes, I meant 10.12.2. Sorry for the confusion.

Only one forward facing camera on 2020 Model X?

Why does my 2020 Model X have only one forward-facing camera above the rear view mirror? The owners manual shows three cameras. I'm wondering if's because my car came with radar. But I have FSD Beta, which I understand disables the radar. I don't understand how the single forward camera can...

FSD Beta Performance Summary Week 4

Yes, I understand that, having seen it make the same mistake multiple times. But performance does seem to be improved in general compared to earlier weeks. Cleaning the cameras frequently may be a reason.

FSD Beta Performance Summary Week 3

Tried Autopark today. It worked as poorly as usual - recognizes less than half of valid parallel parking spots, despite creeping by at close quarters, which I've learned is the secret. It seems to recognize back-in spots pretty well. The car did manage to perform one successful back-in and...

FSD Beta Performance Summary Week 4

Performance is much improved from prior weeks, although my 2020 Model X still makes a lot of mistakes. Only two or three mistakes were in the dangerous category - trying to enter an intersection or turn in front of oncoming traffic. There were three instances of failure to follow the nav plan...

I'll check it out on mine and let you know.

Very Encouraging Ride with FSD Beta

I couldn't wait until the next weekly summary to post something about yesterday's trip. My 2020 Model X drove me from my home to a restaurant on the other side of Colonial Williamsburg, negotiating seven turns, some tricky, with numerous lights, stop signs, and lane changes, with minimal...

FSD Beta Performance Summary Week 3

In the third week of testing FSD Beta 10.12.2 in my 2020 Model X, the software continues to perform erratically, unpredictably, and sometimes dangerously. I average six to seven interventions per 15-20 minute trip. It does well on some turns but requires intervention on at least half for...

FSD Beta Performance Summary after Two Weeks

P.S. Thanks, I guess that explains a lot of the erratic behavior. I'm not a software engineer, but there ought to be a way to program a rule that collision avoidance overrides all other factors, and another one that says, "Thou shalt not run a red light or a stop sign." Question that may be...

FSD Beta Performance Summary after Two Weeks

In two weeks I've gone from disappointed to relieved to (once) elated, now back to disappointed. The car commits numerous errors and I've had to intervene once or twice on almost every trip to prevent an accident. Examples: tried to turn right into a high speed traffic lane with oncoming...

FSD BETA No longer disappointing on my Model X

After selecting the "Enable NOA at start of trip" option and cleaning all my cameras with water spray per the owner's manual, FSD Beta performed much better today. No unexpected swerves or phantom braking. Only one instance when it looked like it wanted to turn left across traffic before the...

Just got FSD Beta 10.12. Performance more than disappointing.

Highway problem solved. When I selected the option to start NOA at the beginning of all trips, the switch between FSD Beta and NOA was seamless coming on/off highway, and NOA worked fine on the highway, taking exits as planned, etc. On my test drive today, the other problems remained. FSD...

Just got FSD Beta 10.12. Performance more than disappointing.

Moderator note: edited thread title to reflect the actual FSD version being discussed. On first two trips, car ran a stop sign and tried to run a red left turn light. It would not take highway exits programmed by the nav planner. It tried to make a left turn in front of oncoming traffic much...

    Headlights on with Wipers

I've had the same question. Seems like an easy sofware fix. Is there any way to provide suggestions like this directly to Tesla?
