FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

This. I hate to admit it, but the main reason I subscribe to FSD is so I can tell the car to switch lanes on the Interstate and not worry about the blind spots. That one thing removes a lot of stress for me. I make a lot of road trips and I'm not as young as I used to be. Actually, I guess...

I just started getting Tesla app updates on my Pixel tablet. The app is finally officially compatible with my tablet! Thank you so much for access to the app and all the updates!

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I just made a 300 mile road trip yesterday using 12.3.4. It ignored every 65 mph speed limit sign, which was bad since a large portion of my trip was on 4 lane divided highways that have a 65 mph speed limit. I had to disengage when entering towns to avoid getting a ticket because it just...

Is the cost of PPF worth it?

No regrets at all. I've never considered PPF on any other car either.

Truck weigh stations along the Interstate are really fun. They have 45 mph signs on the off ramp, parallel to the main road.

    Tesla App on Tablet?

My expert opinion is that ... I'm no expert and can only guess that Google somehow has decided that the app is not sufficiently optimized for some tablets (like my Pixel Tablet). I also have a Galaxy Tab A and a Galaxy Tab A7. The app downloads and updates from Google Play with no issues. I...

    Tesla App on Tablet?

Google Play wouldn't allow me install it on my Pixel Tablet. Said it was incompatible. Now when I go to to Play and click on "Manage Apps", it says " This app isn't compatible with your device anymore".

    Tesla App on Tablet?

I guess the real question is, which "they"? Regardless, my guess is that there are so few tablets as compared to phones which makes it a non-issue.

It's been about 36,000 miles since I rotated. My TPMS should reset any day now. 🤣

    Model Y Tire Replacement

FWIW, we've got about 56,000 miles on the original Conti's with 5-6/32 left. The treadwear is pretty even all around. I only rotated once at 20,000 miles. I think I drive fairly normally instead of aggressively and don't make any jackrabbit starts. Our accumulated miles are split about...

    FSD Beta v11.x

We make a lot of road trips as well and FSD does drastically reduce the stress level. I also make a lot of business trips that are about 400 miles (one-way). These trips would completely wear me out without FSD.

    FSD Beta v11.x

I got the 30.5.1 update yesterday and the map update is downloading now. I hope this fixes the problem I had on Thursday with the 30.2 update. I was on FSD for about 170 miles on I-10 and at least 4 times the car suddenly decided the speed limit was 50 mph. I drive this stretch frequently and...

    FSD Beta v11.x

That's great, but mine suddenly came on after dark last night on a road trip home (clear weather). Kept getting a single swipe every couple of seconds. There were a lot of oncoming headlights at the time. Finally had to manually turn the wipers off. This was on 44.30.2 as well.

    Black and white seats... regrets?

Of all the posts I've read in favor of getting white seats, this is easily my favorite. You just can't argue with this kind of logic. I've had people at drive through windows tell me how much they like the white interior. Honesty compels me to confess that I drove a loaner Model 3 with a...

    Black and white seats... regrets?

I worried about this too. However, we went ahead and got the white seats and it was a good decision. They still look great after 54,000 miles. Keeping them clean has been easy. We keep a pack of baby wipes in the console.

Gemini Tire replacement - anything better than OEM? (all season)

Don't drive my Tesla in heavy rain due to battery damage???

My favorite words of wisdom (from ICE owners) ... What are going to do when your battery runs out while driving? You do know that battery will have to replaced in a few years? You got an extra $20,000 saved up, right? You do know that Teslas spontaneously catch on fire all the time, right...

Don't drive my Tesla in heavy rain due to battery damage???

Drive in heavy rain with no worries. After 51,000 miles of driving in all kinds of downpours, I can say that it's not an problem. I've driven in rain on I-10 so heavy that I couldn't see anything (terrifying). I've driven down soupy dirt roads with mud spashing everywhere (MYLR AWD loves it!)...

    Autopilot disappointment

I guess my experience is different. I have traveled many thousands of miles with the car driving itself and it has never strayed outside the lane markings.

Honestly, if the car is driving, you shouldn't be trying to steer. I don't think it is problem. Just my opinion.

TPMS tire location wrong after rotation

I did this at least 3 times. Rebooted car over and over. Lowered tire pressure to get alarm. And yet 27,000 miles after rotating tires, front and back are still reversed. As I said in a previuos post on this thread, I suspect a lot of cars have this issue, but it's just not very noticeable...

    2023 rear tires bald already?

Guidelines like rotating every 6500 miles are fine, but sometimes they are overkill. I have 47,574 miles on original Continentals as of today. Tread wear is even and lots of good tread left. Rotated once at 19,948 miles. Rotating 6 additional times would not have helped my tires at all.

    2023 rear tires bald already?

We have 47,240 miles on the original 19" Continentals. Tread depth is 5.5 to 6 (32nds) on all the grooves. Rotated once at 19,948 miles. This is the left rear tire:

    Tire Puncture / Repair

Just get a battery-powered air inflator. Ryobi and others make good handheld ones that are very inexpensive. Add a few pounds when needed. I have one I use frequently.

Is there a reason to get the Tesla wall connector over other level 2 home chargers?

I have the Wall Connector and have been using it almost every day for two years. It's simple, looks nice, tolerates the hot Florida sun, and works flawlessly. It charges my Model Y at 48 amps and never hiccups. Other chargers may work great. However, I'm really sold on the Wall Connector.

Spotify always starts playing when I open the car

I've had the same problem. I turn the volume all the way down and it turns itself back up the next time I get in the car. The only way I know to stop it is to log out of Spotify. That works.

    Newish tires.. Worth it?

Wow. Yes, kids need to be in seatbelts. Always. I gave some history because I have had many tires plugged over the years, which means I have a somewhat informed opinion. My guess is that you have no such experience. Plugging a tire is not a "bodge repair job". Yes, it's legal here. It's...

    Newish tires.. Worth it?

In your opinion. In my younger days, service staions routinely plugged tires from the outside. That was the way it was done. I carry an inflator and two types of plug kits. I plugged one of my tires at about 18,000 miles. It now has over 45,000 miles on it. I drive 75-80 mph on the...

    Actual mileage vs calculated range

But you haven't even made that trip yet. Your driving style doesn't matter. Less than an hour earlier you said this is the projected energy consumption on a future trip. You need to make a number of "real" trips and learn about the car.

    Road-trip range concerns - Southeast

Making it 3 hours while driving 80 is a bit of a stretch. Also, that would reqire that there is a Supercharger exactly 3 hours away. Stopping more often is really not a bad thing. I see Tesla families having picnics, walking dogs, and one lady was sunbathing in a lounge chair in back of her...

Is 100% charge on MYLR once a month good for extended battery life?

I commute about 50 miles round trip most days. I have the car set to charge every morning at 4:00am to 50%. I usually return home from work with about 34% left. Car still has plenty of "oomph" in that range. This is just my personal routine (except for road trips). It works for me.
  49. C

Is 100% charge on MYLR once a month good for extended battery life?

For what it's worth, I've never charged to 100%. I've just never needed to. I only charge to 50% for my daily commute, and 80g to 90% for trips. Charging to 100% won't extend the battery life, but it might temorarily help calibrate the range calculations.

    MY vs MS air conditioning?

I do this as well. I wish this was the default setting. It's hard to cool the whole car with just the driver's vent.
