@OCR1 just curious if were you provided this at time of sale? Per IRS:

Yeah fair enough. Most buyers don't have a clue any of this exists or can even tell you what NCA or LFP means lol.

But not if you lease, right? Bc Tesla will apply the tax credit to the lease payments? So you couldn’t “trick” Tesla then

You don't have to convince me; we agree on all the same points. But there are a lot of people in this world who objectively don't agree with us and their points are still valid, despite whatever logical reasoning we may have in retort. (I should point out my wife's phone is literally always...

2024 Model 3 LR AWD is now eligible for the $7500 tax credit [posted 06/17/2024]

For sure it's not a problem for me or you. 99% of my driving is within 100 mile radius of my house. But we are early adopters. My wife hates stopping to charge and doesn't want to take it on trips. She drives a Lexus GX so we always take her car. For example, her parents lake house is 4.5...

Agree 100%. Seems like they (Tesla) think the charging speeds are good enough currently, which they’re not for most “regular” people, if you want to transition the world to sustainable energy. Higher voltage packs would instantly increase charging speeds. On the flip side they also think bigger...

Nominal higher voltage pack also makes a difference (wondering when we will see Tesla increase pack voltage across the board)

Personal opinion, but I don’t think Sawyer knows anything other than what he reads on the forums and reddits himself. This thread, thanks to many involved, had the information before he did. A bit too ironic for me

2024 Performance charging in the video below. At the 21:21 mark it briefly says 258 kW at 26% SOC, but then says 253 and 251 kW and then falls a bit. Falls to around 190 kW at 33%, 175 kW at 36%. 139 kW at 45% seems very good. If I remember correctly, I'm usually at just north of 100 kW at...

Did you check the model year? Tesla still has 2023 Ys in inventory for sale. I’m not as familiar with the Model Y’s bc they’ve changed so many trim options over the past year. They had a 4680 Y at one point and an LFP Y at one point too. Now they are all the same Panasonic 2170 cells from Nevada...

Yes, without a doubt. The "waiting room" threads on here show as much. It was an untenable situation for Tesla with the tax credit being only on the P. If you're buying the RWD you're likely a very price conscious consumer, so you're going with the cheapest model available.

Comparing to 2170C cells, right? I have 2170L cells in my 2021 M3 LR I’m pretty sure. And I don’t think they’ve changed from 2170L cells since 2021, correct?

Every single configuration of the Model Y says delivery in June right now, which only has 10 days left, including quicksilver paint. There are soooo many in inventory and sitting in lots across the country. This isn’t my opinion; it’s readily verifiable.

2024 Model 3 LR AWD is now eligible for the $7500 tax credit [posted 06/17/2024]

I’m sure you know this, but it is simply cell availability. The Model Y didn’t exist in 2018/2019. Tesla didn’t sell a lot of cars back then either. I don’t know if it’s “going backwards” as much as managing their supply chain. As I stated previously, Tesla miscalculated sales of the Model Y vs...

2024 Model 3 LR AWD is now eligible for the $7500 tax credit [posted 06/17/2024]

It’s not a theory. The M3 LR with the LG cells does not qualify for the $7,500 personal tax credit. Tesla tells us this themselves with all the LR cars in inventory on their website, where it literally says it does not qualify. Why you and others on here refuse to believe it is mind blowing...

2024 Model 3 LR AWD is now eligible for the $7500 tax credit [posted 06/17/2024]

They still have 2023 Model 3s for sale so yeah they do. Also not everyone qualifies for the tax credit. In summary: the M3 LR now has Panasonic cells from Nevada, same as the M3P and all Model Y trims. The old cells are LG cells from Korea and do not and will not qualify at any time for the tax...

2024 Model 3 LR AWD is now eligible for the $7500 tax credit [posted 06/17/2024]

Guys seriously just go to Teslas website and look at the M3 LR inventory. There are many available for sale right now that do NOT qualify for the tax credit. Tesla literally says they do not. Why would that be? Bc they have a different battery. If they had the same battery they would qualify...

2024 Model 3 LR AWD is now eligible for the $7500 tax credit [posted 06/17/2024]

This is literally not hard to figure out. Tesla does not have anywhere else to get the cells from to qualify. Their supply chain is readily available to see and audit. Model Y sales are down (yes they are - YoY is not a good comparison for production), cell supply is up. Tesla literally has M3...

2024 Model 3 LR AWD is now eligible for the $7500 tax credit [posted 06/17/2024]

Wow so much misinformation here holy crap. Please actually read IRS regulations before spouting nonsense. The new treasury rules are literally related to less than 2% of an EV battery. It has nothing to do with the M3 LR battery. Tesla put the same Panasonic cells from Nevada into the M3 LR...

They will absolutely drop the price after the summer car buying months as we move into the fall and winter. They match production to demand (Elon has said as much).
  42. Jeremy3292

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

I think what Tesla is really struggling with is they over forecasted the Model Y sales and under forecasted the Model 3 sales. People are very sensitive to the “age” of cars, meaning refreshes to the body and interior, and Tesla doesn’t really get that yet. People want to see changes and new...

Model 3 Highland (US) Waiting room

They needed to clear out as much of the old inventory as they could before announcing the change, otherwise they would be sitting on a crap load of LG pack LRs that no one wants. Tesla has regularly changed production historically a few weeks before announcing it.
  44. Jeremy3292

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

I think a lot of people only bought the P bc “why not” when it was the same price. Now the LR is $7,500 cheaper, making it harder to justify the P if you didn’t really care about it to begin with. Also I don’t think you compromised on the 2021 LR, same one I got. The P wasn’t worth it at that...
  45. Jeremy3292

Model 3 Highland (US) Waiting room

Thus proving my other point that Tesla employees are idiots and don’t know anything :) There are M3 LR in inventory online, some with and some without the tax credit. Tesla has been making them with the Panasonic cells for a little while now and some cars are still available with the LG cells
  46. Jeremy3292

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

    That’s a suicidal business decision
  47. Jeremy3292

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

I know what you’re saying, it just doesn’t make any business sense. They will just move their supply constraint from the P to the LR with that strategy, which is what they just solved with the P supply constraint by getting the LR with the tax credit now too. The M3P isn’t underpriced. It’s...
