Eye Hook for 2015 Model S

Eye Hook for 2015 Model S One of the items that was missing from the Model S I bought was the eye or tow hook. Part number for the 2015 is 1008381-00-D. Item 6 in the parts breakout drawing. Did not find one on ebay but found a part 1053871-00-A. Thought this might be for a newer Model S...

    Replace windshield on MS 85D

Yep, just checked; you are correct, AP1. So, 2015 85D w/ MCU2 & AP1. like yours, just not the Performance version.

    Replace windshield on MS 85D

I need to try them and give it a shot. I will call AN to see what they say. related question: I am sure I probably do have AP1, but is there a place where I can verify? Is it AP2 or 3 that allows for automatic recalibration of the camera?

    Replace windshield on MS 85D

The issue, as I understand it, is the camera alignment for auto-pilot. On my 2015, the camera will not automagically align like in later models.

    Replace windshield on MS 85D

Tesla service got back to me after 8 days or so with a quote for $1386 for replacing the windshield. A note on the quote told me they would check my tire pressure for no charge. I am not too keen on Tesla service and their terrible attention to detail, their sloppiness when taking care of my...

2015 Model S - Remove, Test and Replace Front Louver

Contacted Tesla parts 8 days ago with a request for a quote on the part I need. No response received. Done with them. Found a few on ebay. Made an offer on one.

    Used model s p85 2013

This 85 KWh pack will charge slowly. It has the charger modification that slows down the charging rate to keep the battery pack from frying itself. IIRC, there is an open class action suit against these models for that reason. If you are planning on using it as a commuter car where it will...

    Tesla Parts for Over-the-Counter(No VIN)

That designation may mean you could get them, but that doesn't mean you will get them. I tried to order a part listed like that (Over-the-Counter(No VIN)) and all I have heard back from Tesla is crickets in over a week. If you are used to buying parts for any other car, you are in for a rude...

2015 Model S - Remove, Test and Replace Front Louver

Some background information: ACTIVE LOUVRE ASSEMBLY - RIGHT 1007269-00-F (the one I need, the passenger side) ACTIVE LOUVRE ASSEMBLY - LEFT 1007268-00-F (the driver side) What I did not realize previously is that the fans on the left and the right side bring air through the left and...

    Has anyone repaired cooling louvers?

Please forgive my last posts, 1) for taking up space in this thread while I am learning and 2) after a little more digging I do not believe those are fans in that 1058073-00-B assembly. I assumed they were because there was a great deal of fan noise near those 2 items in the middle when I had...

    Has anyone repaired cooling louvers?

This part number reference is for the center louver that shrouds the main radiator. I bet your car is running very hot if this has failed. The 2 fans in that shroud (I assume they are fans) are the loudest on my car, as well. It looks like this: The opening louver portion of this is to the...

    Has anyone repaired cooling louvers?

When I read the post I assumed the reference was to the 3 flaps on the louver. There are 3 movable flaps on each louver.

2015 Model S - Remove, Test and Replace Front Louver

2015 Model S - Remove, Test and Replace Front Louver I outlined in a previous post how the passenger side louver was broken on the 85D here: 3000+ mile road trip in the 85D I did not know about these louvers until after the near death of the 85D in the Mojave desert. After I was home I found...

    Model S scroll wheel

I was mostly just trying to be funny. The videos I referenced before can be found here: Tesla scroll wheel FIX for 40$ !! I could not find one for 30 or 40 bucks, but I found them. Make sure you do a shutdown on the car before you mess with the steering wheel airbag. This...

    Model S scroll wheel

Had the 2015 Model S 85D for a week and the left scroll wheel broke. Set it up for Tesla to do the repair. They wanted $299 and change for replacing the whole assembly. The part is the "ASY, STEERING CONTROL SWITCH HARNESS". Part #: 1013242-00-J If I am looking at this correctly, this is for...

3000+ mile road trip in the 85D

I had not heard about this issue until now, but I experienced it. I read threads about others getting these monstrous charging rates at superchargers, yet I rarely see my S 85D get to 100 KW and it never stays there, it quickly drops into the 40 to 50 KW range. That may be why we spent so much...

3000+ mile road trip in the 85D

After our stay in CA we retraced our route back home with a stop over to visit family in Phoenix. Driving from the coast up into the CA desert went from 75F to 104F, as expected. No overheating in the Mojave this time. We stopped in Beaumont this time, not Indio. I really did not want to go...

Unable to drive - Authentication required alerts every hour/two hours?

When I had my 2015 S in for service and it was completed, in order to take the car I had to double tap the unlock button on the fob and this error went away.

FUSC if bought from third party dealee

I can only speak to my recent purchase of a 2015 S from a local Volvo stealership, but the free unlimited supercharging and premium connectivity were part of the original purchase of the vehicle and they transfered over once I made the request and jumped through the hoops Tesla required to...

3000+ mile road trip in the 85D

There had been no response from the car the rest of the night. Nada, zip, nothing. At 0530 Saturday morning, I got up and made ready to deal with getting the car to Tesla. I cannot tell you the relief I felt when the car was talking to the app and it was right where I left it the night...

3000+ mile road trip in the 85D

For us, though we have been in TX for long enough to rear our children, Phoenix is a place we lived before TX and have very fond memories of. We were up and visited with family there then were ready to head to the coast. My plan had been to take I-8 into San Diego then up to Oceanside. All...

3000+ mile road trip in the 85D

Got to Albuquerque and found the first case of an extremely busy supercharger. Right off of I-40 by the Applebees. I thought I needed a few drinks at the restaurant even if it was still in the morning, so we were happy to have lunch and let the car charge all the way since the next leg to...

3000+ mile road trip in the 85D

The plan changed a little at the start. We had to be in Oceanside CA a half-day earlier than we thought so we left the afternoon-night before the original plan. The car and the trip was about on par for what I thought, so far, which is to say excellent. The only thing of note was that I was...

3000+ mile road trip in the 85D

Not too long after becoming an owner of my 2015 85D, we went out on a long road trip from Dallas to San Diego. Not being the brightest of bulbs, I thought this would be a good idea. All-in-all it was but there were a couple of times when I thought this had not been my greatest decision. Prior...
