    28.2. Wipers Gone Wild!

I had it yesterday for 30 minutes have had it on and olf for 18 months since new. What was new I think for me yesterday was that in autopilot they are forced to auto, I can't recall it being like this previously? I either had to drive manually or have cruise on with wipers busy in the sunshine...

Octopus Energy, including Intelligent and go

I had a failed smart meter install with Eon 6 months ago, if I were to switch to Octopus would they try again or is my property now blacklisted on some central database?

Is now the right time to swap??

It will be interesting in Scotland, my eon deal finishes in 3 weeks then I'm 28p. Come October I guess I'm the same as you. I'll miss the 4p kWh... In my council area however I can access 50 kw charge place Scotland network currently at 28p. I think there's also a free 22kw charger not that...

    E.on Next Drive

So this has been working fine for me for coming up on a year. However when I signed up I thought it was 2 years, but when I called to switch to the "drive" tarriff the sneaky sods changed it to 1 year, so come September I transfer to their variable rate and I guess no cheap over night either...

    Trip north - advice appreciated

It's just a minute up the hill to the McDonalds or the other eatery up there (albeit no pavement)? Or there's a set of steps down to the petrol station and you have toilets and a subway in there.

Cracked Windscreen - Long delay to fix - options?

mine was swapped a few weeks ago, took over 3 months to get done Considering this can make a vehicle unusable as it can fail an MOT tesla really need to be taking it more seriously. My guess is they are prioritising vehicle deliveries over spares.

Has anyone traded their 3 for a Y and regretted it?

I have both, personally I'm quite happy getting into the Y vs 3, very little between them, if I had to sell one now I'd keep the Y without question (family and so on) Wife picked the 3 over a BMW SUV for the last year, now picks the Y over the 3. Y feels slightly more polished than the 1 year...

    Apple CarPlay in the UK?

Doesn't work for me, opening audible is easy enough but then I get the "Sorry, you'll need to continue in audible" when i ask for it to play.
  9. T

    Apple CarPlay in the UK?

the ability to switch audio sources on the phone. i.e. siri won't let me open audible and start playback as far as I can tell
  10. T

    Apple CarPlay in the UK?

I wouldn't mind not having carplay, if there were more apps, i.e. audible which is amazon, not apple. And is adding an apple music app such a threat? it's just screwing over certain music service subscribers not having it in the car

    Apple CarPlay in the UK?

Most give it as an option Oddly enough my long standing issue is I like to listen to audio books in the car. But if I browse the phone long enough before getting into car, it unloads whatever I was listening to, and then defaults to music app. This has been happening for a decade for me with...

    Model Y UK Delivery

I toured nissan sunderland in the 90's At the wheel fitting station they had a spiral conveyor with wheels on it coming from above, every car was different on the line, they in theory fed in the right wheels at the top and they'd be the right one to be bolted on at the bottom, so you'd have top...

Tesla open up the SuC network [in UK]

Maybe they're charging more than double as a lot of cars use two spaces? Based on my use I'd be wary of subscribing to something I often don't use for a month or two.

Tesla open up the SuC network [in UK]

Wouldn't it be a lot cheaper to get an EV through company vs taking cash, paying lots of tax etc before buying the car? Low BiK makes company car ownership of EVs very appealing.

Tesla Home charger Vs third party chargers

I have the tesla charger. I'm on an E.on tarriff, I don't think they're selling it anymore, but E.on directly communicate with the car to control the charging between 12 and 4AM, so car is set to start midnight every night and e.on turn it off at 4AM, I have to go into the E.on app if I want to...

BMW iX Overpriced in the UK?

BMW price will be dictated by supply/demand. Few years back the X3M/X4M came out and weren't selling well at all, so they started giving them away for £550/month 4 year deals, this on a car with £85k list. The i4 I think seems quite popular, will be hard to get one for a while, not so sure in...

    V11 - what’s your verdict?

With the wipers it's not unusual to need to press a button/lever to get an extra wipe, that's easily accessed. What's really difficult is when it decides to do a few minutes of wiping with no rain, causing bad smearing and so on. So you turn the things off then next day get a pretty angry...

    M3 LR Real World Range

a month back I had it lose 50% for 100 miles. In good warm summer conditions you might get 300, in worst conditions 200. Another way to think about it is time. I did an 8 hour trip each way, starting at 90-100% I'd drive around 3 hours before first stop being needed, then 2 hours for any...

    V11 - what’s your verdict?

Car updated Friday, but hadn't been used since, I read the posts today and with a bit of trepidation went for a look. The speedo location is fine, the icons around it are better, the headlights/high beam is much clearer. (I've never had a car where I didn't notice I had full beam on, but it's...

I now feel quite lucky signing up to E.on in September for 2 years at 19p and 4 hour 4p car charging a night

Cost for Supercharging Increased ? Where to find prices?

Interesting in Scotland, at Perth there's 12 tesla and 12 (I think) public chargers. The CPS Scotland ones there are free, I think there's 50kW, last time I was there I noticed a tesla using it instead of the superchargers, I imagine there'll be lots of unhappy non tesla EV owners complaining...

    sometimes the range sucks

I was actually travelling from up north, stayed in Edinburgh for a night, stopped in Perth for charge on way down, then Edinburgh and Perth on way home SC charge was about £36 and home charging another £3 about 460 miles total so maybe half the price of an ICE? I used about 158 kWh so 340 w/h...

    sometimes the range sucks

Mine is on the latest software, like I said it was 10-12% for a one hour trip which quickly dropped to 6%, quite nerve wracking as the margin disappears :) I think in the summer it did it much later, maybe the battery temperature dictates when it starts?
  29. T

    sometimes the range sucks

This is for a 6 month old M3 LR Had this journey today, (part of much longer trip) was reasonably confident I had loads spare starting at 59%,(I was thinking 20%) eventually got to the charger on 8% having watched it start at 10% spare on return trip quickly dipping as low as 6%. On the way out...

Charger at Old Course Hotel, St. Andrews

I don't think it's charge place scotland, I couldn't see any way to identify or activate the power. Once checked in just ask concierge and they have a card to swipe at the machine to activate charging, FOC. The post nearest the exit wasn't working when I was there

Driving Your Tesla in the Snow

I'm more north that most here, Moray, had to pop to work, local where I live sea level no snow, had to drive on 3" of fresh snow at destination, M3LR did fine, just have to be really gentle on the throttle. I'd have been happier with snow tyres, but quite pleased with how it performed in the...

    3 or Y and Why !?

Are you sure you're a tallbloke :) I'm 6'2" and getting in the back is a slight challenge in the 3, I imagine from a height perspective the back of the Y will be much more spacious.

    M3 LR acceleration boost (UK)

I gave it a month as standard. It really depends if you like fast cars I guess. I suspect most people would try it and not see the value. I then purchased, it's neck snapping fast, something to do with the instantaneous reaction to the throttle vs a ice car I guess. At the dual carriage way...

New homes in England to have electric car chargers by law

You're right, they'll be unhappy as increased prices = less sales, I just think the power companies should be doing some of the investment too if they are going to get the rewards. Ultimately we as the buyers/tax payers end up paying anyways, I guess working out the lowest cost method for...

Charger at Old Course Hotel, St. Andrews

New homes in England to have electric car chargers by law

Some more info here Basically the builder will have to pay for not just the charger on the house, but large scale infrastructure upgrades to support all the extra power needed. Then the power companies get all the new income for no effort as people switch to electric cars, actually does sound a...

New homes in England to have electric car chargers by law

I'm on a 4 hour a night cheap tarriff, I get 40% per night currently with 7kw, obviously lower power means I will have to charge more often outside the cheap rate. I was on a long trip yesterday, home with 25% and it's taking 2 nights to get me back up to 80% on the cheap rate. The government...

Charger at Old Course Hotel, St. Andrews

Just encase anyone is looking for updated info I as there recently. there's now 4 bpchargemaster posts serving 8 cars, you have to go inside and get the concierge to come out with a card to activate the charge. Was 11kw and got me from 30 to 90% in around 4 hours.

Creep mode, Am I the wrong one?

I've a petrol X3 and it can switch between creep and hold same as the tesla. It also has active cruise control and can stop the car, but after 5 secs it won't go again until you press the accelerator, unlike the tesla that will happily let you fall asleep for 30 mins before propelling you off...

    Model Y UK Delivery

I saw one article mention March, with the new reg then I'd probably just wait anyways if offered in February. Also their quarter high sale months appear to be June/September this year so I'd infer December/March for next two quarters. My RN is 1159xxx so seems random or they sold a million :)

    Panic buying!

Wasn't there panic buying last year on fuel, takes about a week for everyone to fill their car then suddenly forecourts will be empty as no one needs fuel for a few weeks. Unlike toilet roll there are strict rules on stockpiling of fuel I had a 5 hour trip yesterday through remote Scotland...
