Model X Falcon Wing Doors Rubbing Paint Off

My 2022 model X had this problem within the first six months so we took it in. Just had to take it in again as the paint was rubbed down to the metal. They are fixing it at a body shop but their "fix" now is to put PPF over the area. They tell me that if they align the doors to prevent this...

Thanks. I won’t waste my time badgering the service staff then. Or singing to the choir on here. :)

'22 MS features still missing in '23

thanks, I'll look for them. To summarize, has anyone convinced Tesla that this should be a free upgrade?

'22 MS features still missing in '23

I may have missed this in the previous thread, but does anyone else have an issue that Steam won't run because the car (October 2021 in my case) only has 8GB Infotainment Ram? My understanding is that Steam is required to play some of the games that Tesla seemed to be advertising originally...

Do you have shudder on hard acceleration? AKA death rattle?

This shouldn't be a requirement but each time I've had this problem (I'm on my fourth model S with this issue) I've had to jump through hoops to demonstrate the problem, even though it is clearly very well known. I eventually identified that the problem only happens when the car has been...

AAA Report: Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection

I have no idea how advanced FSD is at this point and nor does anyone else. Only a very small number of Tesla cars have the latest AP hardware (the hardware that is required for FSD to work) and even those of us that do have that hardware, my understanding is that we were (not sure anymore)...

    Raven torque steer?

That is not actually true. If Range mode is on, the car favours the front motor and if range mode is off it favours the rear motor. I've confirmed this when in ludicrous plus mode by looking at the special widget that becomes visible to show power usage for battery, front motor and rear motor.

News for Model X owners with the dreaded shudder

I had exactly this problem. Eventually they allowed me to leave the car overnight (and outside I think) and then they took the car out in the morning and were able to re-create it. Unfortunately although they replaced the usual parts, eventually the noise came back.

First P85D adopters stuck in black hole

Wow, has it been four years! I upgraded mine to Ludicrous and added LTE. I was planning on keeping it for a long time but somewhere along the line (in early 2017) I took a test drive in the P100D and for a variety of reasons (some of them stupid) I upgraded to the car you see in my avatar. It...

The Rules of Model S Road Tripping

Hi Doug, I've read this a few times over the years - still very useful and I see you've updated it. Just one minor point I would suggest when driving AWD performance models. The range mode for these vehicles is MUCH more useful than for others. In Range mode, these cars favour the front (more...

    Melted HPWC handle

I also have an HPWC I bought in 2014 and recently noticed that the handle/cord and the part where they join to be very hot. I have no idea how long it has been like that as I don't always charge at full current, and I don't normally handle the cable during charging or right after it has...

    Ultra White Seats

I also have a very similar looking strip on my seat. I've tried the user manual prescribed IPA idea and so far it doesn't seem to be making any difference. Thus I'm now considering other solutions that may not be supported by Tesla. I've been mindful that I don't want to do anything that might...

We are going to have an impromptu meet up at 722 Restaurant (722 85th Street S.W.) tomorrow (Monday) at 12:30 for anyone who would like to attend and is able. As we're looking to have lunch there, it would be good to have some idea of anyone who is planning on attending either by responding to...

Ah, well that is pretty conclusive. I thought I'd heard that they were now coming directly from CA. I guess it's possible these were not custom orders though they look brand new.

    Tesla Owners in Alberta

I don't think they are necessarily coming from Vancouver. The Calgary SC now gets shipments directly from Vancouver and in some cases I believe they are using it as a distribution point for other locations down East.

First P85D adopters stuck in black hole

Wow, I only just noticed this old thread woke up. I quoted Andrew's post because I concur with these comments. In December/January of this year I had no intention of trading up. I had even installed a dash cam in my P85D. then the threat of removing free supercharging got me thinking - even...

    2015 Model S P85DL - 28K km/17K mi $120Kcdn/$90Kusd OBO

There is no issue with bringing a Canadian vehicle to the US. I've discussed this with Tesla Canada and I have a potential US buyer who has confirmed with Tesla US that there is no problem. The reverse (US to Canada) has some issues but i'm not entirely familiar with that side of things.

    2015 Model S P85DL - 28K km/17K mi $120Kcdn/$90Kusd OBO

Do you mean the extended warranty? My extended warranty says: You may transfer this Vehicle ESA to a new private owner of the same Vehicle during the applicable Agreement Period, I think you might be referring to the maintenance plan - i.e. the one where you pay for your service in advance.

    2015 Model S P85DL - 28K km/17K mi $120Kcdn/$90Kusd OBO

I looked at the US Tesla CPO cars and I don't see any car that fits the spec you are mentioning. Can you provide a link? Also bear in mind that my car has around 17K miles ludicrous upgrade, LTE upgrade and the warranty has been extended to 4 years, I.e. Essentially the same as Tesla CPO cars.

As per the email that was sent out to club members, a few of us will be going to Canmore on Sunday. Given the potential for frosty sub-zero temperatures, we won't really be meeting at the Supercharger but will be trying to converge at the Iron Goat around 13:30 for lunch. We will probably be...

    2015 Model S P85DL - 28K km/17K mi $120Kcdn/$90Kusd OBO

Probably my last price drop before I just go the trade in route: $114,000 CDN/ $86,000. The same car via Tesla would be over 125,000 CDN plus tax (local buyers don't have to pay GST on private sale). This car has the same warranty length as a Tesla purchase plus an additional 40,000 Kms/24,000...

    2015 Model S P85DL - 28K km/17K mi $120Kcdn/$90Kusd OBO

At a glance, this one doesn't have pano, doesn't have LTE and doesn't have the extra 2 years warranty. Also for what its worth, I'm throwing in winter wheels and tires, dash cams and new floor mats. Not sure about the eBay one. Good mileage though so I guess I'll have to see what happens.

Starting to stretch the donut topic here now, but you can do really good donuts if you use the slips-start button (or whatever its called). I think m1ker has some videos doing model X donuts and I occasionally use it to "drift" a little in the snow.

I don't think anyone knows exactly how many (besides Tesla) but it is my impression that in Alberta there were probably less than 30 RWD cars prior to the release of the first AWDs in December 2014. P100D Owners: Why did you choose P100D?

My story is very similar to Andrewket - but it seems I'm always one step behind him. I bought a p85+ that was delivered in early 2014. I upgraded to a P85D in the same time frame but ultimately didn't get a car until February 2015. I also have a model X now that I received in August 2016, and...

FWD won't open and driver's door opens slightly

I don't think a fuse diagram exist for these particular fuses (or for the matter any of the fuses). From observation, it appears the fuses are near the floor of the passenger footwell on the console side and I think there are actually two fuses that need pulling. It didn't look that easy to get...

How can I tell if I have the P+ suspension on my P85D?

Hi, Thanks for all the pointers, I've since found threads which indicate a part number on the front dampers that should provide an indication. The part number I see is: 1030608-01-A which I believe indicates the performance plus suspension. I also believe that -C indicates the softer suspension...

Mine also looked like that; however, I tried pulling the open switch (and using the screen) several times without any success. Regardless of which month it actually opens, the service center will be open this year, probably before June.
