My car won't charge faster than 60kW

Well, there was grumbling in the beginning as it became known charging speeds slowed due to paired stalls, tapering, colder weather and such. But those were known quantities that were technical limitations. An effort to discourage certain users seems self-serving, contrary to however such an...

My car won't charge faster than 60kW

I agree with Archer, I don't see how an announcement including 60kwh throttling could be spun in anything but a negative light. I would rather it be a technical cause as the explanation. What constitutes "local" and "heavy use" anyway? How Tesla would make that determination might seem arbitrary...

Elon "About to end range anxiety"

Speaking in such absolute language, giving advance notice to speculate ahead of a press conference implying something big, I think we're all in for some disappointment.....I'm skeptical a navigation update, even if somehow pushed out to all cars, would "end anxiety". The range estimate to...

    Disappointed with sound system...

I'm glad I sprung for the premium sound, but it doesn't really sound premium. I directly compared the same lossless music to my 7 year old S550 and the latter sounded much better by a wide margin. It's hard to explain, but everything seems to have a tinny, somewhat digitized sound quality to it...

Mitigating Speed Hump Discomfort With Air Suspension

The Active Body Control of the past 10 years in some Mercedes can do amazing things like adjust over 20 times a second, and keep the car completely flat on turns. Search YouTube for "Mercedes Rodeo" to see the "rodeo" diagnostic test, which looks exactly what it sounds like, and you can really...

    75% Insurance Increase

The insurance companies are *not* losing money though....One $750k medical and personal damages claim will outdo dozens of Tesla repairs. And Tesla owners in general are a careful lot, and never have any medical claims and doubt they cause even a few. Baseless money grab to blame aluminum...

    Details on the Front Motor

I think they've clearly drawn a line now between the performance and non-performance versions.....The people who go with the performance version will pay a bit more of a premium than before, are now forced to get 21" wheels (dealbreaker for many), air suspension (there is no P85D non-plus)...

    Predictions on P85D+ performance figures?

The P85 already beats it, since the instant torque powers it forward especially at the beginning so by the time it hits 60MPH, the MS is ahead in terms of distance. There's videos of it beating Lamborghinis up to 100MPH, and even the GT-R is barely neck and neck with it, and that's a sub-3...

Michelin Pilot Super Sport 245/35 21

On 21s? You sure? I thought even 20,000 miles out of 21" of any type was exceptional.

Tesla P85 or 2013 Civic SI with forced induction?

Performancewise, I wouldn't put too much stock in the 1/4 mile time....The standard rules really don't apply to EVs. I've heard people complain about the P85 "only" having 416 hp for the price. It performs like it has over 600 thanks to the efficiency of the electric drivetrain. Don't forget...

Accessing the side view mirror wire connections

Someone accidentally took off my driver's side mirror a few days ago when construction forced everyone over to my side of the road (while car was parked!) with a large lawn service truck parked on the other side for good measure.....Normally I spend time getting as close as possible to the curb...

Anyone with a brown or green Model S in the Cherry Hil, NJl area?

GET THE BROWN!! If you have any inclination or initial draw to brown and could see yourself in it, definitely do it! It's probably the rarest color you'll see out there....Actually, both the green and brown make it look the most regal and Astonesque, but you'll be much more unique in brown...

    Model S: Clever Vanity Plates

Yep, LOL GAS and LMAO GAS are probably my two favorites. I personally was thinking of "ELEC AVE" but I don't think too many people remember that song these days.

Vendor The Tire Rack is proud to be a part of teslamotorsclub.com !

I hope that some of the new options coming in the spring will include at least one 21" offering in all-season (considering there are in 22"!) like Michelin Primacy MXM4, Bridgestone Serenity Turanza Plus, or Continental DWS.....These are not like typical all-seasons found in most cars, available...

HELP! - I Need Financing for my S

Assuming someone met the particular underwriting standards for that amount, then I wouldn't make an adverse decision based on presumed lack of cash on hand....That's what debt-to-income ratios are for. We'd have no way of knowing intentions for sure, it could be someone budgeted a certain amount...

HELP! - I Need Financing for my S

I must recommend Jon Krumdick at USAlliance......Super friendly, easy to work with, and everyone I've spoken to there seems genuinely interested in helping you out through the process. They are also more "with it", like forward-thinking and open-minded, and they understand about cars like these...

S85 For Sale White/Tan/Gloss Wood/No Pano 3500 miles ACCIDENT DAMAGE

If it would be helpful, maybe I can ask my shop for a writeup of what they are doing and estimated cost of repair since I also have cosmetic rear quarter panel damage (I think it was close to $20,000 last time I checked without any additional items), as further evidence that $7k is nowhere near...

Accident this morning. No injuries but painful damage to car.

I'm up to around $15,000 for the quarter panel and cosmetic damage from the hit and run, not including the structural damage to axle, suspension, and possibly frame. I don't know if this is the case everywhere, but the Tesla-approved shop in my area already had a high reputation from its work on...

How have you handled accident damage (as in I'm looking for other's experience)

Sorry, didn't realize just hitting enter would submit and you can't edit, I'll be more careful...Anyway, some of the differences: 1. The guy who hit me was a hit and run so I am only able to go through my own insurance, for now. We think we have figured out the person who did it as it was...

I'm in a similar situation and was thinking of something along the lines of what you proposed. Some of the differences:

My five-day-old P85 was hit and run at my house.....$1000 reward - Royersford PA

Yes, it was one of the first things I did. The policeman didn't seem to think there was a great chance of finding out who did it, but offered to drive around. I saw him again the next day, still nothing, but there will be no great effort to track them down.

My five-day-old P85 was hit and run at my house.....$1000 reward - Royersford PA

It's not easy to see in the picture, but the wheel is off-axis and kinda drags with a thunk more than turns, while it was being pulled onto the flatbed. I'll see about it, but I doubt I'll be able to benefit from any kind of provision for diminished value, or it will be messy. Even if the car...

My five-day-old P85 was hit and run at my house.....$1000 reward - Royersford PA

I was originally going to crosspost with my original thread at the company forums, but I thought to make a new one. Basically, I went out for lunch on Monday for an hour or so, and after coming back, this is what I came back to: I can't begin to describe the anger and stress I am feeling...
