    Need Tire Suggestions

I have a very late 21 (1 week before they called it a 22) and I drive for a living. My oem tires lasted 8k miles in NH…no lie. I got General Altimax tires. Rated 70k, way better in snow than the Continentals they replaced and I got 30k on them now. They pretty much need to be replaced after...

MY Battery Health after 1 year.

Just when I charge it to 80 or 90% compared to what I would get fully charged when it was new. So my full charge was 326 originally and the last few times I fully charged I would get 300 miles. 90% charge when new I would get around 295 miles. All summer 90% would only give me around 270miles...

MY Battery Health after 1 year.

So after months of being down around 8%, even had a few times I charged to 100% during that time period which should of helped calibrate, it is now reporting that I’m only down 4%. This all happened when the median temperature changed drastically to 30 degrees from 60 degrees here in NH.

MY Battery Health after 1 year.

I agree…when my car was a few months old, my hatch was leaking so Tesla gave me a loaner 2020 Y with 26k on it and it was also missing 8%. So the 2020 has a slightly smaller battery, being loaner car, has free supercharging and was getting supercharged on the regular at Tesla too. Point is, im...

MY Battery Health after 1 year.

1 year old exactly, 33.5k miles, only supercharged 3x besides the first week of ownership, charge to 80% and 90% with 48amps and charged to 100% 4x. I’m down 8%.

    Water in trunk seal/plastic thingy

I had that really bad and the fix was automotive sealent above the license plate area. It was from driving on wet roads and the upwards spray. I have also heard that it needs to be sealed behind the taillights sometimes.

    Water in trunk seal/plastic thingy

See my post from earlier for my issue/fix…in my case it was from my tires spraying up from the wet roads leaving lots of muddy water behind the seal and those small wells.

    Anyone coming from a Pilot?

I own a 2020 MDX currently and sold my 2019 Highlander Hybrid to purchase a MYLR. I live in NH so winters are tough and good ground clearance is needed. What I can say on the MYLR in comparison in the winter driving wasn’t good (notice my statement is past tense) but the cargo room is amazing...

The seams where it meets. You can see the dirty sealent.

    Water in trunk seal/plastic thingy

I had the issue…it’s the back of the hatch above the license plate. When you drive on wet roads it sprays upwards and they didn’t properly seal it at the factory. Tesla fixed it with automotive sealant but if I was you, I’d do it myself. They did a pretty messy job applying it (a month ago)...

What’s your main reason for buying a MYLR or MYP

LR= Wanted more range and 19” wheels for NH…plus cheaper.

2022 Model Y Took delivery today

4 bump stops on hatch are really easy to adjust. It will change panel gaps too. I adjusted mine to have near perfect gaps then I made the other bump stops just barely touch. It’s trial and error and putting a liquid on the stops to tell they are touching.

    Rim protruding with new tires

I just got some new General tires, same size as the Continental and they are made by Continental but the rim seems to be sticking out a bit more…am I wrong?

    Heat pump issues fixed?

What I do works perfectly, I gave advice on how it works well and what not to do. I have tried Auto many times and I am not as comfortable running it on manual.
  19. J

    Heat pump issues fixed?

Sure is! I’ve put on 8000 miles in less then 3 months. Lots of driving in single and negative temps. My only advice is to not blast the fan past 7 or it might be cold. It does great at lower fan speeds when extremely cold.

    Heat pump issues fixed?

I have a very late 2021 MYLR and it’s fine. I had a 2020 MYLR as a loaner for a water leak from my hatch…it wasn’t as good at heating.

Lots of refinement between 2020 and 2022 Model Y

That's interesting...Mine is a 2021 but 1 week before it was called a 2022. My rear seats are heavy and the seatbelt rattle. Can you upload pics of the possibly seatbelt change?

Model Y - Just OK cold weather car

In auto it likes to recycle the air and make the cabin fog up…I do a much better job then auto ;)

Model Y - Just OK cold weather car

I have noticed that if you put the heat on full blast, it will be cool air if it’s extremely cold out. I have noticed this behavior from mid teens and down. If I keep the fans on 6 or lower, it seems to work fine. I’m currently sitting in my MY and it’s -10f as I type this.

What “12v” battery do we have?

Mines a very late 2021 MY (1 week before it changed to 2022) and I have the standard old battery. I was hoping possibly the change to the battery happened before Ryzen but no dice.

    AMD Ryzen & 12v Batteries now shipping in US Y & 3!!

How old or new is your MY?
  26. J

What “12v” battery do we have?

I’m curious who will be the first to open up the battery area location to see if the Ryzen cars actually got the lithium battery or not. If it does, then to check if 2022 Atom cars still have lead acid.

This thread was much more interesting when people were discussing refinements.

    AMD Ryzen & 12v Batteries now shipping in US Y & 3!!

Now this is getting interesting! Has anyone that got a MY Ryzen noticed they are getting less then advertised range? Not real world range but what the app states what a full charge will yield.

Ride Quality of Tesla Model Y

I have an almost 2022 MYLR 19” wheels. I recently had it in for service for a week because of a leaky hatch. They gave me a 2020 MYLR for 20” for a week. The my 2021 is a way better ride all around.

Does anyone else’s hatch leak like this?

Thanks, I’ve already messed with those. The left one needs to be recessed all the way and the right one needs to be out halfway to make the panel gas go away.
  31. J

Does anyone else’s hatch leak like this?

Still leaks, will have to see what Tesla can do because I am out of options.
  32. J

Does anyone else’s hatch leak like this?

I’m still watching it. I went into the hatch afterwards today and watched it close with the bumpers installed and they don’t look like they even touch. I’m not convinced it’s fixed yet and will need more inclement weather. I might have another possible test tomorrow morning.
  33. J

Does anyone else’s hatch leak like this?

Update, I tested and no matter what adjustments the bumper on the right side would hit but not the left. I then removed both and the leak is gone and all seems even/true when closed. I will let Tesla know and see what they said. They did tell me to try playing with bumper adjustments originally.

    PPF coming with car

I’m in NH but had to pick up my car in NJ. No PPF or flaps. When I went to the SC in Mass, they put it on at my request.
  35. J

Does anyone else’s hatch leak like this?

They said they are giving me a loner car. They also said I could play with the bumper stops to see if it helps. I did notice the ones that go into the indents, only 1 actually touches. I actually removed them to see what happens. It stopped raining of course so I wont have an answer for a...

Does anyone else’s hatch leak like this?

Does anyone else’s hatch leak like this?

I’m talking about the indents and the water on the inside of the gasket…
  38. J

    Is my hatch leaking?

Tesla doesn’t think so…they want to give me a loaner car.

2022 Model Y range on screen after a charge

    What wheels?

2022 Model Y range on screen after a charge

All I want to know is if the projected charge in the 2022 is really showing 330.

Wow, this simple post of curiosity went off the rails! Lol
  44. J

2022 Model Y range on screen after a charge

I’m just curious if the 2022 MY actually shows 330 miles rather then 326 miles like the 2021. This wasn’t a post of concern.
  45. J

2022 Model Y range on screen after a charge

So I’m curious if people actually are seeing the 330 miles for charge on the MY LR with 19” wheels? Mine is a 2021 with a production date of 10/21…about 1 week before the VIN changed over to 2022. I charge to 90% and my range is usually at 295 miles give or take a mile. If I slide the slider...

Romex and Wall Charger revisited @wwhitney

Honestly not sure…it’s indoors, exposed and sold by an electrical supply house. It looks like it is Southwires NM UL conduit.
  47. J

Romex and Wall Charger revisited @wwhitney

So I do think my previous Romex installation was safe…cable barely got warm. I want to point out that getting 3/4” flex water tight conduit and 3 6awg THHN wires were the same cost. I thought the conduit setup was easier to install using pvc fasteners rather then hammer staples for Romex. On...

Romex and Wall Charger revisited @wwhitney

I couldn’t take the uncertainty and I bought 3/4” flex conduit and 3x 6awg. So I essentially made a code compliant cable and it wasn’t that hard to do.
