Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

2021 and you are right on the border for what I said. 2022 and it’s not what I said. I don’t know which one is “last” december

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

This is a known issue and it took me over a year to get Tesla to admit to it. Let me guess....post radar delete but still Intel? Bet you don't have the CCS retrofit either. (This is my theory and many techs agree)

    HOT! Supercharger Cable

Appreciate you both. Still no idea why the car sounded like it was conditioning the battery the whole way home...but probably related to the temps as well.

    HOT! Supercharger Cable

Ever see this? Went to super charger last night; it was maybe 85F out. Ran from 10-80 at 140 for almost the whole session (nice considering station max is 150 and it was 90% full) Anyway, plug was almost painfully hot to the touch as was the cable itself. Car sounded like it was conditioning...

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

The computer is the first part….which is part of my gripe with Rocklin. They wouldn’t try anything. Hell, it took multiple visits just to get them to even give the car a proper look.

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

ITS TIME FOR SOME GOOD NEWS!!!! Since the last post, I’ve kept a constant open ticket at Rocklin just to be a pest. They even put a charge on it to try to deter me, but I just kept kicking it down the road. While on vacation my charge port stopped communicating and I needed to open a real...

Lemon law buyback successes without having opted out of arbitration?

Could you elaborate on this pathway through the phone maze and when the last time you did it was? Think I'm going to have to take a trip down this road.

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

Once again, not an update and likely the last one for a while. I took the car down to Tesla after they "remotely resolved" my issue and got to speak to the service advisor and a tech in person. Here's some snippets of our conversation: Why do you need the security system to work? SA: You...

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

Well, a not an update update. I got a question at the end. My service which was opened in early February to address the errors posted in service mode has been "resolved remotely." Entirely untrue considering our communications have consisted of entirely of (summarized): Tesla: [Service...

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

Thanks all. I think we have quite a few angles to work. I'll come back and update here if there is news. Perhaps others will be helped. There's actually quite a few posts with this issue, but got hijacked by the "red x" issue. People trying to be helpful, but not seeing the nuances in the...

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

Fair, fair. Lets go to the ultimate question(s): Does anyone have a means to reach customer support that goes above the location level? The highest person at Rocklin has not been helpful. Requests as to who or how to go above has been met with refusals. Emails to "resolutions" goes...

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

I should qualify that the misbehavior started 11 months into this problem, after "Lenny" tossed out the threats and the service advisor told me I should be grateful instead of apologizing for said threats. The ghosting started long before this. 11 months of excruciatingly nice on my part got...

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

I agree with this. I briefly had the "x" issue between all of this. It was eventually a software update but talking to some of the phone Tesla people (who are a lot better then the SC people) it seems that there is a batch with a bad harness which runs to the port.

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

I did recently turn exclusion on at home because Tesla at one point tried to say that the car needs to sleep sometimes. Anyone its been about a month with it on at home, and it still doesn't work right when I'm at my girlfriend's or something. So anyway, that isn't the problem.

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

Thank you for validation, lol. No third party anything unless you include the little organizer tray for the center console and the seat cover for the dog. Part of the issue you're right was the semantics. The car spends most of its time parked at my west coast home, a busy apartment complex...

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

Ashley the service advisor is as arrogant as they come. For the whole time I've had the car, minor to major issues, shes one of the worst I've ever met. There are many other issues where I had to tell them what was wrong and she fought me right up to the day I was proven correct. The tech in...

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

Just FYI, I did get them to repair (replace) the nose of my car for free. It was relatively unrelated to this issue. One of the techs, through this, behaved very badly. He threatened to charge me if I kept pushing this issue (at the time, there was no issue according to Tesla) but he refused...

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

You seem to have better luck with the SC being willing to at least try some things. See if you can get them to replace the MCU and/or AP Computer. I think the issue lies in them, specifically the MCU. My next try would be VCSec and the harness that connects it to the MCU.

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

That is not what I meant. See above explanation in previous reply. Yes, several folks have explained things that are not what I'm talking about. Thank you for reminding me. I am quite aware how sentry vs recent vs dashcam works. We are talking about Sentry on a whole.

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

No. Once upon a time it recorded the requisite hour in the recent folder, and then through a day/night it would have many 10 minute clips in the sentry folder, along with what ever I recorded in the dashcam folder. Now, assuming the car timed out as I describe. In the recent folder, I only...

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

This exercise has been done many times with the same results. I also park it in a rather high foot traffic area. It used record multiple an hour, even through the night.

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

The usual platitudes. We'll get to the bottom of this. We'll make this right, etc. Nothing concrete; but its more then silence which it eventually turns into within two weeks.

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

Yes, the car/sentry works perfectly fine before the car "goes to sleep." It used to be three days when I first noticed, and slowly has come down to the current hour. So sentry does record, just for a very short period of time. It seems the entire alert system turns off too.

    Driver's seat heating not working

For all the crap I talk about Tesla Service, the people on the phone are pretty good at certain hours. Give them a call during normal US business hours; I'm assuming you'll end up getting the same people I get.

Sentry is now recording at home.

With one of the more recent updates, I've noticed this too on my 10/21 M3 LR. I have tons of other sentry issues as well though. This particular issues seemed to have rectified itself when I toggled the "disabled at home" Maybe try that again.

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

I'm really trying to avoid it, but I have and I can pick one of three states. State of purchase, state of registration (law is written as such) or state that most of the repairs have been attempted in. None of those three states are generally dealer friendly. At the same time, I just want my...

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

Agreed, and that is really my problem. I repair similarly advanced equipment, Tesla is actually one of my customers. I'm OK if there is some weird problem that comes from these cars being what they are. I'm not OK being told to kick rocks. I'm especially not OK with the fact that I need to...

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

Tried it. Tried it. Tried It. Tried it more times then I can count. Tried it, and as I said, its not that issue. Yes, it does. This only happens after the car has been parked. This is sentry. We're talking about when the car is parked, all sentry functions cease after an hour. Someone...

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

Both. Yes. It does. Yes. Two Tesla branded, two SD cards, three random USB's I had kicking around the house. Yes. They are not there. Tesla has confirmed that this is a known issue. The problem is, Tesla seems to think that Sentry working for <1hour fulfills their obligation.

Sentry Does Not Record and Tesla Response

I have an October 2021 M3. Sometime in early-mid 2022 my vehicle stopped recording events despite saying it had. *This is not the "x" in the camera icon problem, and while we appreciate your input, I see that problem hijacking the few threads with this problem* I've been chasing Tesla for...

Bug: Tiered Speed Limits [on Autopilot]

As far as I can tell no one has discussed this and it really surprises me. Driving in California there are tiered speed limits with trucks always being limited to 55. When driving with auto steer on, the car can't seem to figure out that the 55+ signs are for me, and the 55 signs are for...
