Hi gglockner, Finally, how did you solved your wiring problem with the pigtail ? Did you test it with your LED tester into the 7-pin plug of your Tesla ? Tel me if you have 12v on the 7-pin plug or if you'll have to switch red/blue wire as described by @ShawnA ? Thanks again !

So you bought the trailer brake ECU adapter (part 1072586-00-A) ? Where, at your Tesla SC ? You installed it ? Does it work fine ? BTW, which brake controller did you choose, Prodigy ? Thanks

Check the Model X's manual. Under the trunk, it's the 7 pin plug from the vehicle who's oriented toward the ground...

Me too but i'm not sure if the 9 inches length of the Curt 51180 will be too close from the the ground considering the vertical orientation when plugged in ?!

Yeap, sure. The break controller isn't built in on Model X... wires are under the front dash. You may plug in the seven pin connector but your trailer won't brake without a controller... look the manual !
