It would be absolutely idiotic to have a removable battery pack that weighs 600-900 pounds. You would need a cherry picker every time you needed to remove or install it. So I have to believe this will be a pack that two people will be able to handle.

You were right! I texted my SA today to ask if my June/July EDD was going to hold, and he texted me back with "your VIN has been assigned". New EDD is March 19 -23. Thanks for sending positive energy my way. Definitely benefitting from this Socal push.

A buddy of mine has been assigned a VIN and is debating if he should take delivery and resell. His price is $5k less then the current price. He also has an electric BWM on order. Wasn’t sure if model 3's are as hot as Model Y's right now in the resale market.

MYP ordered 11/15, and I have had an EDD of Jan 18th - Feb 15th for a month or so. After reading this thread of all you guys getting pushed back, I thought I would check mine. I have been moved to Feb 8th - Mar 8th.

I agree with everything except for the need of a huge price increase. 4680 cells are cheaper to make than current cells, so I think once they go into production with them, the initial investment costs will be made up for.

I believe that when it comes down to what battery pack they'll start of with, it comes down to two things. Do they have a huge supply of 2170 batteries in stock? Yes, then they'll start with those to get rid of inventory. If no, and the 4680's have passed all tests and our ready to go into...

I believe we'll see them in the MY before CT production starts. Utilizing the 4680 saves Tesla money, so they are going to want to get that battery in a high volume vehicle as soon as possible.

I hear ya that there will always be an update around the corner. But after my research on these 4680 batteries, I need to wait because we are so close.

I'm right there with you as well. I have an EDD of 1/18 - 2/15 on my MYP, and I have been researching the 4680 batteries in ad nauseum. And I like you need to wait for my build to contain the structural 4680 battery pack attached to the front and rear castings.

Ordered a midnight silver MYP 11/15/2021. Originally had an EDD of February 15th - March 15th, but that changed to January 18th - February 15th and hasn't budged off of that for about a month.
