I think you could be onto something here.... and if Tesla actually had a software support forum for customers that they were part of, they might be able to read, diagnose and reproduce more easily and then fix it.... They IMHO should treat their support not as 'one' via app/text messaging but...

Tesla service center update : issue has been escalated in an internal team as they were unable to add the car to my wife's Tesla account either. A 2nd person has reported the same issue so I think it will soon be a known problem and fixed soon enough.
