I've put this issue on the back burner for now, mostly because Tesla is unwilling to provide an under-warranty solution. I don't buy the "side cameras weren't initially available when HW2.5 was released....and we decided to support side cameras with it because customers clamored for them"...

Looks like this might have been resolved with later SW (2021.44.25.2 or thereabouts). I tested this further today and found that 1) belt unbuckled, 2) butt out of seat, 3) door closed, 4) car stationary but in Drive, and 5) foot on brake (maybe new criteria) doesn't shift into Park. But also...

Good to know you can swipe them away. I found that if I back out of the garage with seat belt not yet attached (or if not everyone in the car has seat belt attached), the "Fasten Seat Belt " message covers the HomeLink screen and I can't close the garage door (until everyone has complied).
