    Disappointing PowerWall News

Today, I had a teleconference with my rep at SolarCity regarding the PowerWall. He gave me disappointing news. Earlier in the week I was told that they would only be installing the PowerWall for new customers. I would be considered a new customer if I added more panels to my existing...

    NYC EZ Pass

I have the same problem with a transponder that is used to get in and out of my work's parking garage. I need to pull inches from the gate, open my window and hold the transponder as far away from the car as possible to get the gate to open. I reported the issue to building management and they...

I'm assuming the extra $1500 is the installation charge.

Elon, I love you... but the PowerWall isn't that great...... yet.

SolarCity only installing PowerWall for NEW customers I've had a solar system from SolarCity for three years. I was surprised to hear from my rep that they will only be installing the PowerWall for NEW customers. I would be considered a new customer if I added additional panels to my system...

TESLA - Certified Used Car Sales Program?

I flirted with the idea of trading in my one year old P85+ with 9000 miles to get the D. Tesla offered $80,000, Carmax offered only $70,000.

New Tesla Fatality - Single Car Accident.

I was the original poster and took some slack from forum members. We are all driving a car that takes pride that it was rated the safest car ever tested. We have also all read the stat there had never been a fatality in the Model S. This changed when a car thief crashed the car into a...

New Tesla Fatality - Single Car Accident.

I'm fascinated that I made my original post under Model S subforum but it appears the entire thread was moved to the Roadster subforum when there is no evidence that he was in a Roadster. His cover photo on his facebook page is a model S, and he appears to be sitting in a model S in the photo...

New Tesla Fatality - Single Car Accident.

It seems highly unlikely that an obituary, most probably written by his family, would list the cause of death as a "single car accident" if that wasn't the cause. Peter Kleis Obituary - San Jose, CA | San Jose Mercury News

Can the Model S and I make things work?

By my calculations, if you work 5 days a week you will be commuting less than 200 miles a week. That's a single full charge. You will be fine. The car is so amazing that any small inconvenience will not be noticed.

How many miles on your Model S?

8000 miles yesterday. 9 months old. No need to change the 21 inch tires yet.

    Soundproofing The P85+

I absolutely love my car and have no issues with road noise. The only noise that bothers me comes from a fan that cools the battery. Tesla wrapped it in a sound blanket which helped but is still quite noticeable. Even with that, the car is still a true pleasure to drive. It's much quieter...

    Is the P85 too fast/powerful?

I have the P85+ and LOVE it. It has the power when you need it and drives like a normal car when you don't need extreme power.

Total Cost of Ownership (Tesla and ICE)

    Punctured Tire

Same thing happened to me. Discount Tire wanted $740 to replace one tire, they said it was in a place that they could not patch. Tesla did it for $520. Tesla will NOT patch a tire even if it is patchable.

    405 Carpool Lane in SoCal

I drive regularly on the 405 and love the new Northbound carpool lanes. I agree with several of the posters that on a summer weekend the traffic can be awful but the carpool lane generally is slightly better. On weekdays the carpool lane is great. Waze is a great tool. There is also a...

Finally found something I hate about my Model S - Seat belt 'creak'

Just brought my car in today for a few small items including the seat battle rattle issue. They performed the following: "removed rear lift gate trims and insulated all areas. Assembled rear lift gate. Test drove vehicle. Rattle no longer present."

    19" or 21" wheels

I have the Performance + with 21 inch wheels. They look great. If the road is smooth, the ride is smooth. If the road has bumps, you will feel every bump. If you appreciate a sportier feel go for the 21s.

    Tesla's Tire Repair Policy

Nail In Tire Yesterday, I found a screw in my 3 month old Michelin 21 inch tire. I brought it to Discount Tire to be patched but the nail was to close to the edge of the tire to be patched. They would only replace it for $740 with a two hour wait. I called Tesla and they did it for $514...

Calculating an equivalent $/Gallon for the Model S

I also have a p85+. I use my trip meter to figure my consumption. 2560 miles driven used 968.1 kw at 9 cents per kw. = $87.12 in electricity costs. My previous car used premium gas ($4.50 p/gal) and averaged 15 mpg. 2560 divided by 15 = 170 gallons x $4.50 = $765 in gas. Gas Car $765 Tesla...

Do I need air suspension because of my driveway?

I have air suspension. Keep in mind when raising the car it is not an instant process. You cannot raise it as you approach the driveway because it won't raise while driving faster than a few miles an hour. You will need to stop in front of the driveway and start the process. Plan on...
