    What does your dash display?

    1) Left: Media, Right: Trips 2) Never use it, so it is in the "select the feature" mode, I think 3) Top: Camera, Bottom: Media / Nav So far never seen the need to look at the energy graph.

Windows Phone Tesla App - Please vote "me too" here if you are a WP user

Me too Edit: Castor's Tesla Companion does work perfectly for me (Nokia Lumia 520), but of course I vote for an official app.

    Firmware 6.1 - For Classic Model S

Third time within a week that my volume control has stopped working. This is getting annoying.

    Firmware 6.1 - For Classic Model S

I was also on .115. Yesterday I got email from service, they said they were able to duplicate the issue on .115 firmware, but could not duplicate it on .140, so they pushed .140 to me. However, this morning when driving to work (on .140 firmware) I had one song go silent at around 4 min mark...

    Firmware 6.1 - For Classic Model S

Yes, the buffering bar fills fine. I contacted service, they did a reset of some system and asked me to reboot the center console. At first this seemed to help (a 7:21 long song played fine), but this morning a song that was a little over 10 minutes in length cut out at 6:20 mark. I sent an...

    Firmware 6.1 - For Classic Model S

Anyone else using RDIO and playing long songs? Ever since 6.1 I have noticed that songs longer than 7 minutes play only the first 5-6 minutes, and for the rest of the song duration play only silence. This did not happen in 6.0 as far as I can remember. I have yet to see any song longer than 7...

    Smart Preconditioning

I have had my Smart Preconditioning active for 3 weeks now, but have yet to see it actually warm my car ever (besides once late Saturday evening, a time I have never driven at). I have scheduled the car to start charging at 04:00, I leave for work at 06:35 (plus or minus 5 minutes) every...

What Swag did Tesla give you at delivery?

Bottle of Champagne. (Though, to be honest, that was not directly from Tesla but from the local importer who delivered my Tesla to me. Still, a very nice gesture.)

What do I do for the next few days while Smart Preconditioning is "learning"?

Something similar happened to me Saturday evening at around 21:00: What do I do for the next few days while Smart Preconditioning is ? - Page 2 Perhaps there is some special reason why Smart Preconditioning wants to warm up our cars late Saturday?

Long delay to acquire 3G connection

Thanks for the tip chongov! I also turned Energy Saving off completely when I got tired of the low connection even with "always connected" turned on. Perhaps I'll try turning energy saving back on, especially if the Smart Preconditioning seems to be working reliably next week for my morning...

What do I do for the next few days while Smart Preconditioning is "learning"?

I guess that is possible. However, a few minutes later when I checked again it showed this.. Outside temps were around 0 at the time, so I don't think the inside temp would get to 16.5 without it actually heating the car?

What do I do for the next few days while Smart Preconditioning is "learning"?

I got the above image when connecting to my car a few minutes ago. That was a bit unexpected, as I am not going anywhere (and have not driven anywhere around this time of day for many months). I just reconnected, and now it says Climate Off, with interior temperature at 16.5 degrees C. So looks...

Long delay to acquire 3G connection

The same thing happens to me, especially after I reboot the touchscreen. Easily 5-10 minutes before getting 3G connection. I have also encountered a similar song playing problem on RDIO, but the problem comes and goes, sometimes it works fine.
  16. P

Probability of getting a Model S with a "known" issue?

No reason to freak out! If you happen to encounter some of those issues Tesla will fix them with minimal hassle for you. Pretty much all of those chances would be pretty close to 1 at delivery, I would assume. Within 2 years some of them will rise to higher levels. I personally have only...

    Firmware 6.1 - For Classic Model S

I don't think regen changed at all between 6.0 and 6.1. I'm on 6.1 and have not noticed anything different. I think v12 to v12 meant some really classic regen settings in 4.0 or 5.0 software versions. So if you are currently on 6.0, you won't notice any difference in regen after updating to 6.1...

It's the little things - Auto High Beam

I don't have the required hardware, so for me this is just academic curiosity, but I have always wondered how the automatic high beams would work. I understand it handles oncoming cars, but what about pedestrians? I don't want to blind pedestrians (or bicyclists) coming my way any more than car...

    Firmware 6.1 - For Classic Model S

Over the air, with 3G (I don't have WiFi configured at all). I noticed the RDIO buffering (part of the media updates), haven't tested USB playing yet so don't know about the shuffle/repeat features, but I assume those are there. I am not so sure I like the new RDIO functionality.. For me it...

    Firmware 6.1

That is interesting.. The release notes say "Smart conditioning is only available if you save home and work locations". I assumed that means both, but perhaps it only actually needs Home location? That would be good. I am also unclear as to what exactly this means: "will start Smart...

    Firmware 6.1

Anybody have a clear idea as to why exactly does the Smart Preconditioning need both Home and Work locations set in the navigator? I set the Smart Preconditioning on as soon as I got 6.1, but then began to wonder why I didn't get the "Learning..." text that is shown in the screen capture at the...

    Firmware 6.1 - For Classic Model S

Heh, funny thread.. :) I have a "semi-classic" S85 (no autopilot stuff, but new enough that I have parking sensors and titanium shield from the factory). I got 6.1 last Thursday, so I was pretty much among the first who received it. This was interesting in itself, as it took 2 weeks for the 6.0...

How successful are you in connecting into Wifi from your Model S

I have given up hope getting my car connected to WiFi. It sees only one bar from my garage (in a separate building from where my router is), which not surprisingly fails to connect. But even when I drive my car as close to the router as possible, it tries to connect for a while and then says...

    Firmware 6.1

With my own sample size of 1, yes. I plugged my car in after work, for the first time after the 6.1 install, and had to press the button quite a few times before the charge port opened. I thought it was probably just a glitch, but it is a bit worrying if this happens to others as well..

    Firmware 6.1

I got the update notification yesterday, and scheduled the update for last night. Woke up earlier than usual to check what I got. :-) I was worried that the white guidelines do not show up properly on snow (which there will be on the ground for at least 4 more months here), but they seem to...

    Finland

My lowest (all time average) energy consumption in the summer was 186 wh/km (for a theoretical range of 456km per charge). Currently my averages are 206 wh/km (overall) and 246 wh/km (the last 3000 or so km, I reset the trip when I switched to studded winter tires). This Monday when doing a...

    Steering Mode

Standard for me as well. I think I tested both comfort and sport when I got the car, but neither of those seemed in any way superior to standard, so I saw no reason to go non-standard. :-)

    Hand wash, or drive through?

I hand wash once during the summer (basically just to check the paint condition), otherwise I use the drive-through car washes, with brushes. Haven't seen any paint problems or scratches yet (knocking on wood).

The Evolution of Model S: From VIN1653 to VIN55228

I had the same problem in my 36646 VIN. I also fixed this myself, luckily the pads were easily adjustable in my car. Very strange if they have switched to non-adjustable pads in later VIN cars! Hope you get that sorted out, it really is a very annoying sound. Thanks for the difference report!

A Few Comments on Safety for New Tesla Owners

+1 to Todd for this thread, and also to mnx about the A-pillar point. I also once almost drove over a bicyclist that just fit inside the A-pillar blind spot, and once was just about the cross an intersection until at the last possible moment noticed a car that was hidden behind the A-pillar...

    Firmware 6.0

Thanks! Finally some concrete evidence! The regen difference I feel is exactly like in the second graph. Perceptibly smoother initial attack, but overall not a big change. I was starting believe it was just a placebo effect, but your graphs show that there may indeed be a change in the...

    Bottoming Out

I also once bottomed out when backing out of a parking garage I occasionally visit. During earlier visits I had manually raised the suspension, but on this occasion I simply forgot. I still had 5.9 firmware at that point. Pretty scary loud bang... Since I got 6.0 firmware the location-based...

    Firmware 6.0

Good point. For me personally, the difference is noticeable when cancelling cruise control. I don't think I have noticed any other differences in regen, so I am ready to accept that the possible change is in fact in the cruise control behaviour. Edit: Regarding matbl's post above, I have...

    Firmware 6.0

Interesting.. As you say, the initial attack feels slower, but only for about half a second. After that the regen is just as efficient as before. I have found that I need to use the brake pedal LESS in 6.0, as the regen is just as efficient as before but it seems to continue to a lower speed...

    Firmware 6.0

I installed the update last night, and this morning after charging my Typical Range had dropped from the previous 322km (on 5.9 firmware) to 315km (at 80% SOC). Interesting, I remember reading that many had seen increased range, but mine decreased. Based on the posts above I expected to be...

What's your 6.0+ car name (if you are willing to share?)

New Toy Being a Banks fan I looked into List of spacecraft in the Culture series - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia for inspiration, and although many of the names would be great, that one was simple, short and to the point.

    Got Firmware 6.0?

Today coming home from work there was a software update popup waiting. Hopefully 6.0, which means I got it on the 22nd, and thus my poll reply of "Europe, No" is still accurate. :)

    Firmware 6.0

Funny.. When I got my MS I was a bit annoyed that it blinks as many as 3 times.. In my previous car that did not have this feature, I used to blink once (or at most two times) when changing lanes. Since it only takes a bit less than 2 blinks to actually change the lane, now the third blink is...

How many times have you Range charged (100%) your model S?

CAR NEW PURCHASE DATE: May 16th 2014 CURRENT VEHICLE MILEAGE: 5060km (3144 miles) CURRENT RATED MILES @ 100%: 250 (extrapolated from current Typical range of 322km at 80%) TOTAL # OF RANGE CHARGES: 0 I have never done a range charge and always charge to 80%. Tesla Companion App

Thanks again for your work on this app castor, it has been working very well. :) Just wondering if you have plans to implement the 6.0 firmware new features (after the new REST API calls have been discovered, obviously)? It would be nice to have some of the new features on Windows Phone as...

New project: Credit Card sized Key Fob, measuring interest

Interesting idea! What about the frunk/trunk buttons? I wouldn't need to have my key fob with me at all if the credit card -sized thingy would have some way of opening frunk/trunk. No need for a lock/unlock button since I use the walk-away locking. I could probably most of the time just use the...

    Pano Roof Daylight

I don't have a pano roof, and specifically wanted my car without the pano roof. I was a bit worried about the headroom, but it turned out there are no headroom issues on the front seats. I don't much care about the rear seat headroom, as it is not often that I would need to have adults sitting...

    A most unfortunate event :-(

Best wishes and speedy recovery to all involved! Did I understand correctly, you lost consciousness BEFORE you actually hit anything? If so, that is certainly somewhat scary, so hopefully the doctors can figure that out soon and you get back on the road with a clean bill of health! At least in...

Did any of you order your Tesla sight unseen?

I also ordered without seeing it in person (and without ever even sitting in any kind of electric vehicle). And like NOLA_Mike, I also first saw a Model S at close range when my car was delivered to me. I had seen one on the road a month before my delivery (but months after my order), though. :-)

    Tesla moments

Yesterday, when walking to my car after playing some volleyball, I had just sat in my car when I heard a boy's voice saying "Nice car!". I turned to look and saw a boy of around 10 years old on a bicycle grinning at me. The following conversation ensued: Me: "Thanks, yes it is very nice." Boy...
