VIN 7SAYGDEE2NF35XXXX 11th character of the VIN denotes the factory... above is mine (or most of it), made in Freemont. Austin would have an "A" there.

Austin?? That's a little surprising, I would have thought that since we are closer to Freemont, that's what they'd keep sending us. Are you picking up in Boise?

That's awesome that your installer knew what they were doing. That front bumper with the air intakes can be a pain, that is one spot where I had issues that needed to be redone. They also kinda winged it on the rocker panels with the stock PPF on the rear doors, so they re-did that as well...

I got the SunTek done in Boise... The product is good, no issues there. The real results are dependent on the installer, as with a lot of things. I'm mostly happy. For what it's worth, I have the SunTek Reaction stuff, and while the hydrophobic properties are there and ok, I noticed a huge...

I think Tesla will need to know so that they can fill out the Title paperwork appropriately... sending it to the bank rather than to you. If it were an unsecured loan from your CU, then you could treat it like a cash transaction.

Within the Tesla phone app, under "Security" there is an option to add another driver. This is how I have my wife setup, though it does require her to have her own Tesla account. I don't recall if I had to setup her phone in the "keys" within the car but I think I had to do that as well so the...

    Best screen protector kit?

Same... Even with their alignment tool, I was prepared to deal with fixing things post-install but it was perfect. For me there is a slight loss of sharpness but the lack of glare, reduced fingerprint visibility and smooth touch make it one of my favorite accessories (I really like the MagBak...

Ok based on Sunday's weather, I'm glad I didn't wash the car on Friday. I did wash it today though. Here are those "soft paint" pictures I said I would post earlier. Reposting the video as well to refresh the "how this happened".

Yah when I backed into that spot which was an end spot (so only one side at risk) no one was in that "orange Ford" spot. As they pulled in I did get the plates on the front sentry cam but I haven't pursued it. I was seething that day, primarily at the orange truck driver, but as I reviewed the...

After the last few rainy days the car needs to be washed to accurately illustrate the damage this seemingly minor incident caused... but for now here is my disappointing Tesla paint experience.

Just checked, the one I have is still in the unopened box. I had bought a second setup to have in the car (I use the one that came with the car as my home EVSE. No need for the wall connector). Unfortunately they dropped the prices a little over a month after I bought this setup.

I bought a complete extra mobile kit with the 14-50. If you're willing to buy mine, I'll just order one to replace it when they're in stock. That said, as DrGriz said, they've had them in stock at the SC, that is where I got my extra. DM me.

I imagine hail that size would do quite a number on the Tesla hood, regardless of PPF. Sorry to hear about your truck ☹️, that sucks.

Correct, glove box USB is the only data port, which is the where the Tesla supplied USB stick goes. This is one option, you lose the dash cam/sentry functionality though. Correct, if your music collection is static you could get away with this method but you may want to replace the drive with...

I've seen a lot of PPF talk recently... I went with the Suntek vs the XPEL and was primarily concerned with the leading edge but ended up getting the front "clip" (front bumper, hood, fenders to the doors, A-pillars, and mirrors) done as well as the rocker panels. They had to do the rear door...

Hey @jstepy... Sorry for the late reply, I've been out of town for the past week+. Back in November (I think) Tesla released a communication that new 3/Y center console USB, from that point going forward, would be power-only. So no data transmission. I'm fairly certain this was related to...

welcome @jstepy, though given your tenure maybe it's more appropriate to say "welcome back". I got the CCS1 adapter from Harimo's proxy service, received it last week and did a quick test down at the EA charger here in Boise, works well and is official Telsa hardware. As for accessories/mods...

    Martian wheels?

I realize this isn't the data you're looking for but just in case it indicates when the backlog started: When I ordered my MW05's, the page indicated that there was a several month delay but they showed up a week later, much to my surprise and almost 2 months before I even got my car. I know this may seem obvious but I'll mention it anyway. For those of you that have ordered, paid and have not yet seen the email from Tesla Korea with the invoice: Do you have multi-factor authentication (MFA) enabled on your Tesla account? Did you supply your account username/password AND...

In case anyone was interested. I took the car in on Tuesday, the gave me a 2017 Model S loaner. They said they wouldn't need the car overnight and it would be ready same day. They called a little after noon to say it was done. They ended up replacing "Oil Pump - Rear Drive Unit" all under...

Let us know what you hear back. I have a friend with a M3 due in May-June and he's starting to shop 3rd party options. I would be surprised if they made that policy retroactive. When you ordered your car it said it came with an EVSE. Seems like it should be the same policy that applied when...

Hey Guys, Still loving the car. I decided to do my own ceramic glass coating, since a lot of the car is glass, last weekend to help make it easier to clean and make the water fly off without having to use the wipers. So far so good, supposed to be good for 2+ years. I'm trying to steer clear...

    Aftermarket Tow hitch-bay area

If you're willing to put in a little sweat equity or maybe enlist a handy friend help, TorkLift's EcoHitch option is great. I installed mine and was able to keep the aluminum crash bar (the Curt and Uhaul ones don't appear to allow for that). $314 is a sweet deal versus the Tesla OEM option...

    Bad XPEL Installation?

Sounds like they're skirting responsibility and hoping you go away after 30 days. How did you pay? If by credit card, you may want to alert your bank to put a hold on that charge or start a dispute.
  38. SirSycho

    Bad XPEL Installation?

He said they did the front clip, which is not a whole car wrap... $3K sounds pretty spendy for just the front clip. Did they do the rocker panels as well? Oh they did tint as well, I missed that. Depending on how much tint they did, maybe the front clip was cheaper than I've seen :)

Tesla OEM bike racks vs Thule?

+1 for the 1UP racks. I owned a dual which I had for 10+ years and gave to a family member. Now I have the 2" Heavy Duty Single and it pretty much stays on the car 9 months of the year. I have an add-on if someone wants to tag along. Beautifully engineered and very secure, the parts that wear...

This is my dilemma. Ultimately, the reason I got it done was to protect the paint, but the reason I paid someone else to do it was to hopefully have it done by a professional and damn near perfect. 2022 Model Y - USB Data Ports - USB-A Glovebox Only

I’ll try one more time. What is it about the module that you sell which is specific to AMD vs. Intel? Presumably both are x86-64 architectures. I’m pretty sure there isn’t an ARM Ryzen out there, someone please correct me if I’m mistaken.

    2022 Model Y - USB Data Ports - USB-A Glovebox Only

I think the original question is a fair one... it's just a USB chipset for an x86_64 architecture. Only reason I can think of would maybe be a connector switch from mini-usb to some other interface, but it seems odd that Tesla would even bother switching the cable harness for something they were...
