Tesla App Waking up Car When Opened Directly to Tesla Energy Screen

Yep several attempts have been made... something has finally stuck and car got some sleep last night. Here's hoping.

Tesla App Waking up Car When Opened Directly to Tesla Energy Screen

Yes same. Tesla vehicles were clueless and energy were the same. It was a never ending roundabout of messages. My problem seems to have gotten worse....the car refuses to sleep now at all if plugged in even thought I have CoS off and no interaction with the Tesla app. Surely it needs an update...

Tesla App Waking up Car When Opened Directly to Tesla Energy Screen

Also, thanks for the NetZero app, I am using this as a work around but the info and automation actually make it better than the native Tesla app. Doesn't wake the car up too.....Tesla should learn a thing or two from it!

Any developments on how to fix this? I too have a ticket with Tesla but they don't seem to understand....

    Charge On Solar Australia

Thanks. Have been in NZ for last 2 weeks and car was not sleeping. Ironically I logged a ticket last night and lo and behold the car is sleeping today....

Anyone else have issues with car not going to sleep since charge on solar came through? I seem to be down 5-6% everyday.

    AGL’s “Night Saver Energy Plan”

Just a friendly warning from experience with having too much credit with any of electricity retailers. Some went bust not that long ago and one of them was Elysian Energy. They had a pay up front subscription type model. When they went bust the consumer being the lowest denominator creditor...

    AGL’s “Night Saver Energy Plan”

The Origin EV 360 plan is better to utilise solar as it is free 10am-3pm. A much better solar sponge. However you need to be home for this to work (and also now install at the least a wall charger through them).

    FastEV EVO1(+) 18" with Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 6 for Model 3 Performance

Looks nice. 10-15% efficiency increase is a little too optimistic IMO. I would guess it will be closer to 3-4% after the next 13000 km.

    BYD Dolphin $38,890

Yes, it seems that they lost there way since first coming onto the AU scene with all the fanfare. EV direct/BYD were all about being cheap but all the extras are lining pockets. These cars should be very low $30k's for some hefty market penetration in the volume end.
  12. B

    BYD Dolphin $38,890

I'm not really worried about buttons or knobs, if they are there and they serve the purpose then all good and well. If its all on a screen and it works then its the same as its serving its purpose. The interior design elements of the BYD are just not to my liking at all (especially the Atto3)...
  13. B

    BYD Dolphin $38,890

Yes it actually can. We had two on order for quite a while now but cancelled one as have cut one of our metro techs. Not sure we will go ahead with the other either as the economic outlook isn't that crash hot so bean counters are worried.
  14. B

    BYD Dolphin $38,890

Interior not as whacky as the Atto3 but still too much happening for me. A standard no fruit, no whack interior A-B car similar to the original Hyundai Getz would be a go for businesses for metro day to day run around I would think. That is where the MG4 base model will probably shine. It's also...

Experience driving Tesla alongside other road users

As I have gotten older I've realised that the 'system' wants to make me work towards bigger and better and take my sometimes hard earned money. Eventually I worked it out so now I don't care about a badge, how fast I can go or most stuff like that. I still like to have fun but road games isn't...

Tesla Model 3 - 12V Low Voltage Battery

Here is a good tech video on the Tesla 12v battery in 3 and Y. Pretty timely to keep this thread updated. Its geeky if you are into this stuff.

Supercharger charging speed throttling when busy

I was the only one there past Thursday morning. Arrived with a preheated battery with 23% SOC. Initially received 86kW and then dropped to 60kW very quickly. It then started to ramp back up slowly eventually hitting 92kW. Seemed strange to me as I haven't had that before. Checking plugshare...

Supercharger charging speed throttling when busy

I should have added, that seems to be unique at Canberra airport full house. I was at Goulburn the other day and that was full and 65 was the number I was getting. Annoyed because I rocked up middle of the afternoon with 4% SOC too. Thats how it rolls sometimes.

Supercharger charging speed throttling when busy

Were you on 3A? That has been problematic in the recent past. But it does sound like throttling if it's a full house.

LFP battery - how often is too often to charge?

The LFP battery will not be degrading due to the non charge to 100% so rest easy on that. Calender degradation will occur for all as it can't be stopped.

Describe your initial impressions upon new delivery of 2023 Model Y

We set ours to 36psi for 5000km. The comfort level is so much better. Have bumped it up to 42psi for 5000km and yep it's harsh. It does shine with the higher psi when on the highway at speed. Alternating between the two for tyre wear. We do this for all our fleet cars to help prolong the tyres...

LFP battery - how often is too often to charge?

Yes 100% agree that long battery health is better if not charging to 100% all the time, especially in hot climates too.
  26. B

LFP battery - how often is too often to charge?

You will find that your estimated range will drop over time if you don't charge to 100% when compared to other cars of the same age. Of course you would need TeslaFi or the like for this, but possibly the total range reported in the car would also be lower. However because you are not going to...

That's what I have been missing, the coolness of DCFC.

Does using supercharger actually save money for a road trip compared to petrol?

I value Tesla SC's way above any of the other offerings in Oz at this point in time. They are reliable, have many stalls and my car know where they are and what's available. For the times that we have to use them am more than happy to pay the very little extra. If and when the other networks...
  35. B

Does using supercharger actually save money for a road trip compared to petrol?

We do syd-cbr-syd alot and the cost could probably be comparable to a fuel efficient ICE depending on the fuel price cycle. But as it is only about 30% of our usage the total cost savings far outweigh the SC cost. You take a hit here and there but still way ahead.

    Supercharger - Benalla, Vic

If it's anything like the US and the vids I have seen especially from our of spec on utube then the in car planner pretty much sucks at picking V2 or V3. Seems haphazard with not much smarts. Hopefully it improves.
  37. B

pre conditioning for non-tesla charging stations

If you are on a trip where multiple chargers are necessary and the temps are cold then pre heating battery is very much a welcome feature. Saving time at each charge helps everyone especially if the DCFC are getting hammered. You get away faster and those waiting will also appreciate it.

    New compact tesla

Yeah we would be in for a couple of small hatchbacks with good range and Tesla tech. Good range and efficiency means less time charging for reps on the road. Don't really care what it looks like.

Everything Electric Sydney (February 9-10-11, 2024)

Won't be able to make it as in Palm Cove enjoying the tropics. Apparently there will be an MG4 on display... If anyone happens to be able to have a good look and report back that would be great.

Shipping tracker Vedaprime promises big Tesla news tomorrow, any ideas?

So I wonder does that mean the suspension in the RWD model isn't upgraded or different since it has been on sale here. Keep hearing from some that it changed soon after launch but never confirmed officially?
  41. B

Shipping tracker Vedaprime promises big Tesla news tomorrow, any ideas?

Yeah got to agree that was a fail. But it more than likely got a few clicks to the service though so it may have served its purpose? Call me cynical.

Model 3 RWD 2022 Efficiency - Canberra to Sydney

Really need to get a whole lot more of km on the car and then check the efficiency. Something like 10k would give a better indication. Give it some more time.

Western Sydney University charging (Now restricted)

I regularly drive past the Parramatta WSU site and you can get a good view from James Ruse Drive of the chargers. I always try to check what is happening there but hard to tell as the carpark is usually full. Lately though I reckon they have been getting hammered. This past Sunday at around...

There is also these Tesla Model 3 Cabin Air Filters – Cabin Air Filters or Tesla Model 3 Air Conditioner Air Filter HEPA 2x Pack with Activated Carbon 2017-2022 No idea if they are any good but I will change mine shortly after 12 months as I don't think these filters would last much past that.

    Jolt EV charging network

Yep, I charged there today as I grabbed a coffee from the corner shop. One spot was iced but I can't blame them as there is no signage to say it is EV only. Also it does have woeful drainage so hopefully they do fix that too.

I really like Hansshow Ultra Mini Screen Display

Just got one of these and thanks all here for the heads up on install and the like. Bought from Aliexpress for way less than Hansshow. Came with the latest firmware so all working great. My only complaint is the brightness at night, it's just a little too bright for my liking. Hopefully they can...

    Superchargers in Australia

There are some good points there for opening of the Tesla network but there could be a downside for some locations. Other operators may decide they can't compete with Tesla reliability and decide not too invest in some locations that are marginal or won't show a potential return for many years...
