Hi, So the fix is to remove the USB stick and then do a reboot by holding both scroll wheels in. Once rebooted plug the USB back in and it’ll work. If you update your car to a new firmware you’ll need to do this process again. Hope that makes sense and works for you.

Yeah I’d done this numerous times and it didn’t work, yet the other day I took the USB stick out, did a reset again, plugged it back in and we’re back up and working!

So I’ve just braved the winds and had another play. This time I unplugged my USB stick and did a reboot. Plugged the USB back in and it’s recognised the custom light show, woo hoooo. I now need to hoover the inside of my car due to half the garden blowing inside when the windows went down!

Did you resolve this, because I have exactly the same problem. The custom show worked fine and is now no longer recognised. So frustrating.

Yeah it’s named correctly, it worked fine, I changed nothing and then it stopped.

So frustrating, which light show did you pick? Out of interest does the USB stick with the lightshow show up as a music device for you?

I’ve tried so many things now and I just cannot get it to work, including rebooting the system. It always recognises the USB stick and the music track attached, which I’m not sure it did before, but just will not load the show. Be interested to see how you get on.

Does your car recognise the USB now as a music device and show the night rider music track? That’s what mine is doing, despite the file being called lightshow it shows the track name. Somethings changed for sure.

I assume it worked before? Very strange, they’ve obviously done something to stop them working….

When you’re on the latest firmware could you check and post again? Mine worked prior to latest update.

Thank you for going out in this quite frankly horrid weather to check :-) I’m glad it’s not just me being stupid then. As I’ve said above they worked fine and then all of a sudden won’t recognise the file. Assume you’re on the latest firmware? I hope not too as whilst they’re a gimmick...

Yep, just tried that and still not recognising the custom show.

Oh really? How annoying!! I’ve just tried again and it won’t do it. In the apps screen it’s seeing the USB stick as the option comes up and I can play the .wav file or .mp3 file, it’s almost like it’s stopped reading the other one. I’ve changed nothing other than the update.

That’s brilliant, thank you. Perhaps just a bug that’ll be fixed.

Sorry I meant to add that I had tried this method too and it didn't work. It just plays the holiday light show and won't recognise the custom one.

How are we going to do custom light shows if the front USB ports are charging only? My understanding is the USB cannot contain any other folders such as Teslacam. Guess we’d have to unplug the USB in the glove box and plug in another…

Yeah I wouldn’t bother with the chat page, just speak to the GB delivery team direct, I cannot fault them. They’ve been understanding, apologetic and incredibly friendly. I’m sure they’ll resolve it for you.

Tesla have today refunded me my train tickets and apologised for the inconvenience. Can’t fault that. Faith restored and counting down Thursdays collection now.

Congratulations on the order, now the hard bit, waiting…. As for the referral code, the scheme was suspended some time ago, so no free supercharger miles unfortunately. It couldn’t ever be done retrospectively either. You’d have had to cancel your order and start again.

Have to say my experience has been exactly the same up until yesterday. It’s not a massive deal the change of collection destination and I hope I’ll be offered the chauffeur. Definitely a good experience overall though.
