Just shy of 100,000 happy kms!

My 2020 model 3 is going to break it soon! About 500km away, only maintenance needed ever was the routine brake lube for high salt areas. Unequivocally, the best car I’ve ever owned, but the sample set is small as I come from an Lexus IS350.

Eligible vehicles for CCA 100% write off for businesses?

Not an accountant, but I’m fairly certain that it would be the same list of vehicles. The section you linked clearly says that if a business wants to claim the iZEV then the respective CCA 54/55 cannot be used as well. It’s one or the other, so I take that as the same list.

Yup, looks like Canadian SR dropped $5K, seems like the performance may have by the same amount too. Did U.S. prices drop as well? Performance 3 now below $55K

    Canadian X Refresh Orders

Yes, it was in the actual MVPA with the cost calculations, alongside the delivery date.

    Canadian X Refresh Orders

I didn't schedule a delivery and I got the code via email just now. It looks like they may have slotted me in for Dec 10 (based on the MVPA), so sooner than the Dec 12 to Dec 21 I am being quoted. Spent the day getting insurance and financial affairs in order.

Is 120v enough to precondition battery in Winter?

No. You will end up using some of the car’s battery. The heater draws more energy than a 120V 15A circuit can supply.

    Canadian X Refresh Orders

Do you have anything written from the CRA that says 2021 orders should not be charged? You spoke to a rep at the CRA, but it really needs to be written if it ends up heading to court either via class action or small claims. I recall that when I bought my 2020 Model 3, there was a lawsuit that...

    Canadian X Refresh Orders

I suppose one can always take delivery first and go to small claims court after the fact. Definitely will need the written interpretation of the CRA to win. I should probably send my request in now for my first quarter 2023 delivery.
  12. C

    Canadian X Refresh Orders

Only interpretation that matters is the CRA. Still waiting for @kamou to see CRA’s written response.

Buying a ModelS/X is about to become MUCH more expensive!

It’s not debatable. The technical document uses the example of a software package as an option when making a purchase. I think Tesla is successful enough that the government is already rubbing their greedy palms for more juicy tax revenue.

Buying a ModelS/X is about to become MUCH more expensive!

Sorry, what you proposed is already taken into account. This Luxury Tax thing is just another layer of unnecessary layer of bureaucracy. Luxury Tax Link on government website . Why should I get a 3 instead of a Y?

My wife and I decided that the Model 3 is the right car for us at the moment. We love sedans and find the Model 3 a svelte car that turns heads all the time, especially with the younger than 16 crowd. Kids ABSOLUTELY love it! In terms of practical reasons, the 3 is more efficient to drive...

Anxious future MYLR owner. What are your top “can’t miss” threads on here?

You're going to have a wide variety of responses. I would say look into accessories for the floor mats, and cargo mats. Look into getting quotes for your charging setup if you haven't already. I bought Tesla vinyl emblems in red so that my wheel caps and side repeater logos really stand out...

    Hello From Toronto Canada

Interesting. I looked into this a year ago and got a quote of $3500 just to change my breaker panel, but was told that the utility may levy a charge to upgrade the service going to the home from the transformer. Depending on the work needed, the utility may charge me an amount in the thousands...

    Potential New Owner

Quality can mean a lot of things to a lot of different people. I came from a Lexus IS350, and there are some things that Toyota does really well, which is doors that close with a very satisfying sound, whereas the Model 3 I bought is a bit louder. The materials is similar in quality, I find...

    Ontario green plates

the plates are stamped sequentially and then given to service Ontario. I don’t believe you can order a specific one, but you can always ask a service Ontario after you take delivery to see if they have a number in stock you’d like. Tesla won’t be able to help you with this as they have no...

Want to buy: V2 aero covers

I always thought that the more spokes tends to cause turbulence in air flow, versus a more covered cap. Perhaps the difference is negligible, but I still prefer the looks of the V2 aero, at that price point.

Want to buy: V2 aero covers

I didn’t know about these! I’ll probably pass, since they’re likely less aerodynamic and a bit more expensive. Appreciate the suggestion though!

Model 3 Canada - Confirmed Orders Only thread

Anyone getting aero wheels in GTA? I need to know when I can bug the service centre for the new aero covers during my winter wheel swap :)

    NEMA 14-50 Adapter

Yeah, I agree. Don’t understand how they get at anything done. I left a message and email asking if the new aero caps were in and got radio silence. My initial appointment for winter tires was cancelled because the tires weren’t in and they can’t see where the shipment is. The tires are now in...

Model 3 Canada - Confirmed Orders Only thread

If there are others in the GTA taking order of the 2021 model on Aeros, can you please ask your service centre if they have any spare covers? Winter Tire waiting room

I thought I was getting a jump on things by ordering my Aero Winter tires in September. It’s getting a lot colder now, who else is waiting on wheels to come in?

    Is $10K too much?

Yes, I agree that it is too much upfront. If it were subscription based I would likely jump on it today, but I also don’t drive enough highway distance weekly to justify it. I’ve only got 1 Tesla, and if I upgrade to a different model let’s say in 5 years I would hate to have to pay again, even...

    Ontario green plates

Tesla will try to get green plates for you. When I picked up in March 2020 they were delivering so many cars they ran out at the local service Ontarios around Oakville. I was promised that if I was able to find a green plate, Tesla would reimburse me. I picked one up closer to home, sent in the...

I ordered December 2019 and took delivery March 2020. My account also says unlimited premium connectivity too now! Although this was a Day 1 pre-reveal reservation though, so not sure if that makes a difference.

New configurator up. LR now 353 miles and Perf has Y wheels

Im glad I have the old 19”S because they’re actually rims, whereas the new ones seem like hubcaps. On the other hand, I’m sad about the power trunk and range boost on the new model 3.

    Supercharger - Baldwin (Espanola), ON

Stayed at a nearby rental and easily found this supercharger but I never experienced the full V3 speed. For anyone heading from the GTA, my recommendation is to make 1 stop at Parry Sound instead of Sudbury or Barrie for charging. There was heavy traffic on the way back in Barrie.
  43. C

    Enhanced Autopilot

I personally don’t drive highways to get to work, so won’t get this. They should really just offer this as a subscription, and then I bet the uptake would be higher. I would certainly sign on if I could use it for a road trip.

Thinking of selling some of my shares, undecided

What I'm doing is the opposite of dollar cost average buying the dips. I've got preset orders at multiple tranches to average out my sells. I set orders for 10% of my shares at reasonable prices that I wouldn't mind selling. For example, I sold every $100 from $15**.** upwards. These sells...

What started you investing in Tesla (@Jackl1956 thread)

It was sometime in 2013 after the big pop in Tesla share price. Model 3 Window Tinting - GTA

I got my windows tinted at Nebo Tinting Doctor (NTD) in Hamilton on my neighbour's recommendation. He uses Madico tint, and I asked for the maximum legal amount. I tinted just the sides, as I didn't want any possible warranty issues in the future with the rear glass. I was mostly after UV...

You're suddenly well off, your lifelong friends are not. Now what?

I haven’t met up with a lot of my friends due to COVID, so they actually don’t know I have a model 3. Will you buy FSD before the $1,000 increase on July 1st?

I don’t think it’s worth my use case. When we have kids, we may decide to sell the car, and even if we don’t, the only time we’d ever use it is once or twice a year on a road trip. If Tesla offered a subscription for those times, I’d gladly pay it, but otherwise my $9.2K is best spent buying...
