Oh I wasn’t expecting a tire replacement, I thought they could do a patch no matter the tire size. Lesson learned.

Just an FYI, today I got a nail in a tire and decided to call Tesla road side assistance to see if they would come do the tire repair. To my surprise, they wouldn’t because my tire size isn’t the “right” size. Is this common for other automakers?

I went with Continental Extreme Contact DWS06+. Definitely took a range hit, roughly 20%. My previous was ~180wh/km on stock tires. Now its ~220wh/km. Not sure how to convert that to miles but like I mentioned about a ~20% hit to range and efficiency. It provides a bit more curb protection but...

Have an extended week of super cold temps. Have the car plugged in while not in use so would keeping camp mode @20C (for say a week) be good/bad? Im assuming camp mode also keeps the battery warm. Thoughts?

It's the overall diameter that im guessing could rub. And ive yet to read/see anyone running that sizing.

What you want to do is look at the specs for a given tire then find the rim width range, this will tell you the recommendation. In your case, the recommended rim width range is 7-9. Stock gemini wheel is a 9.5. So technically no but ive seen many users on this forum use this tire sizing.

Oh man, you’d be pushing the limit with that. My guess would be some rub with stock gemini wheels. Im running 275/45r19 on stock gemini and theres no rub but my diameter is only 28.7inches whereas yours would be 29.4inches.

Tsportsline offers this tire size and says it would fit all model y’s. I swear ive read users on this forum with this sizing too.

Noob question… Recently took my MYLR in for some service at the local tesla service centre and wanted a tire swap too. Provided them with 275/45r19 DWS06 to replace the stock 255/45r19 gemini. And they wouldn’t do the tire swap…told me every excuse from potential rubbing to long term wear on...

275/45r19 for the DWS06+ If you prefer Michelin then 275/40r19 as u mentioned.

I know what you mean, that got me to think perhaps it needs some downforce aero help…spoiler, diffuser etc. Or better tires?? Anyone with any mods see any improvements?

TSportsline offers a 275/45R19 Offset +35 that fits all model Y variants. I believe these will fit the stock gemini rims too.

270/40r19 would create different diameter and circumference. From what I’ve researched, you need to keep these within 1%. Couldn’t find 280/40 tires, but again diameter/circumference would be off. It would look strange haha im just wondering if theres a benefit.

Have a 2021 Y LR with AB. Everything else is stock. Looking at upgrading tires and have narrowed it down to either DWS06+ Or Pilot Sport SA4. Just wondering if staggered tires on the stock 19x9.5 rims makes sense or just plain silly. I would keep stock size up front 255/45r19 and 285/40r19 rear...

Question…235/55r19 specs states rim width range to be 6.5” to 8.5”. Stock gemini are 9.5” wide, a full inch wider than the recommended range. What does that do to the tire?

And yet they fit?? Did tesla install or did you take elsewhere? If u go over a large bump will it rub with only 5/16 clearance?

No regrets paying for the extra giddy up. But now kinda having regrets not going with the performance. ;)
